According to a recent survey by the Symantec Corporation, which makes many kinds of security software for home and business computers, there’s a “significant digital(数字的)divide between parents and their kids.”Parents of children under the age of 18 were asked to estimate(估计)how much time their kids spent online each week. The parents said about three hours a week on average. The kids – ages 8 to 17 –who took the survey said they’re spending an average of seven hours online each week.“I really think that’s due to the time they spend on their mobile phones and computers, when their parents don’t even know they’re online,” says Symantec’s Bill Rosenkrantz. "Remember, cell phones, PDAs and video game m achines all make it possible to access the Internet. You don’t have to sit in front of a computer screen."And what are the kids doing on the Web? “They're doing things like downloading music, they're going to social networking sites, they're actually shopping online when parents don't think they're doing those kinds of activities,” says Rosenkrantz. “They're also, we think, doing some things with research papers and other kinds of activities with homework maybe where they're getting content online and they really shouldn't be.” Nearly a quarter of the kids (23 percent) admit to doing things their parents would not approve. So how does a modern parent deal with this type of situation? “The first thing we strongly recommend is that parents spend time wi th their children online,” Rosenkrantz says. “Sit down with them and understand what they're doing. Secondly, have a dialog about it. Have a dialog about what's an acceptable activity, what'san unacceptable activity, and set some ground rules -- time online, things you can and can't do. Really have those conversations. That's the most important.” There are a lot of bad people on the Internet. That’s why it’s so important for parents to know what their kids are doing online.4. The figures in the second paragraph are used to show _______.A. children always spend too much time onlineB. time spent online changes with children's agesC. parents don't exactly know kids' online activitiesD. children spend more time online than their parents5. We can learn from the passage that _______.A. special home computers are being made by SymantecB. kids talk less with their parents due to computersC. all the kids surveyed don't obeyed their parents' rulesD. parents are too busy to pay attention to their kids6. In Rosenkrantz's opinion, the key to the situation is that parents should _______.A. shorten their kids' time spent onlineB. have a talk with their kidsC. use security software in computersD. know their kids' online activities7. What's the purpose of the passage?A. To advertise a new security software.B. To give reasons for kid's Internet addiction.C. To warn children of the danger online.D. To give a short introduction to a survey.CThe health benefits of staying active are already well-known. It can help you manage weight, keep blood sugar levels down and reduce risk factors for heart disease. Now, a new study suggests that regularly playing sports, especially badminton or tennis, is not only healthy but also reduces your risk of death, at any age, by approximately 50%. This is a big scale population study to explore the health benefits of sports in terms of death rate. The studyevaluated responses from 80, 306 adults aged 30 and above in England and Scotland, who were surveyed about their health, lifestyle and exercise patterns. After adjusting factors such as age, sex, weight, smoking habits, alcohol use, education and other forms of exercise besides the named sports, the researchers compared the risk of death among people who took part in a sport to those who didn’t. The percentage of reduced risk of death was found to be: 47% for racket(球拍)sports, 28% for swimming and 15% for cycling. In addition to this, the study didn’t find any significant reduction in the risk for sports like running and football. The findings also exposed that over 44% of the participants met the guidelines for the recommended exercise levels to stay fit and healthy, which amounts to 150 minutes of moderate(适度的) physical activity in a week.Does this mean you stop running or playing football and switch to tennis instead? Every kind of sport and physical activity has different physical, social and mental benefits attached to it. The apparent lack of benefits of running and football could result from several variables (变量) that were not taken into account.Being active helps you feel happier and live longer. So, the most important step is to take part in any kind of sport that you are likely to enjoy and follow in the long term.8. How is the study conducted?A. By doing comparative experiments.B. By analyzing previous data.C. By evaluating survey information.D. By tracking participants for a long time.9. What does the underlined part “the named sports’” refer to?A. Water sports.B. Racket sports.C. Individual sports.D. Traditional sports.10. What can we infer from Paragraph 5?A. Few people will play football.B. Tennis will become more popular.C. The result of this study is wrong.D. The study could be further improved.11. What does the author advise people to do?A. Stick to any sport that you like.B. Play badminton and tennis only.C. Stop running and playing football.D. Do any sport according to guidelines.DAt Mrs. Jennings’ handsome house, in London. While waiting for dinner, Marianne Dashwood wrote a letter very quickly. One look at her sister when they returned was enough to tell Elinor that Willoughby had not called.Colonel Brandon came again to tea and had short private conversation with Elinor.“Your sister’s engagement to Mr. Willoughby is very well known.”“It cannot be well known,” returned Elinor, “for her own family does not know it.”“I am sorry but I did not realize it was a secret. I came to ask, is everything decided? Is it possible to? Excuse me, Miss Dasnwood. I believe I have been wrong in saying so much.”From these words Elinor was sure of something, yet she knew he could never be successful with her.Over the next three or four days, Willoughby neither came nor wrote. One evening at a party, Marianne suddenly saw Willoughby standing in deep conversation with a young woman, whose name was Grey, a rich lady.“He is there! Oh! Why does he not look at me? Why can’t I speak to him?”“Marianne,” said Elinor, “perhaps he hasn’t seen you yet.”At last he came to them.“Willoughby, what’s wrong? Did you not get my letters? Won’t you look at me?”After a moment’s pause, he spoke. “I came by last Tuesday but unfortunately did not see you. My card was not lost, I hope.”“Have you not received my notes?” cried Marianne. “Tell me, Willoughby; tell me, what’s the matter?”Quiet and embarrassed, he said nothing more and turned quickly away to Miss Grey.

第二部分阅读理解(本大题共 2 节,共 40 分)第一节(共 15 小题,每小题 2 分,共 30 分)A1.With the Chinese language growing in popularity, the U.K. government plans to invest (投资) 10 million pounds to help more kids learn Mandarin (普通话). Do you think it is necessary for the U.K. pupils to learn Mandarin? Some people share their opinions online.Tsd (U.K.): The learning of any language can be valuable and rewarding, but it is not suitable for everyone. Chinese is a difficult language to learn and the U.K. has a poor reputation for teaching foreign languages. Why should they learn Chinese when most people in the world speak English?Mark (U.S.): I studied French for 2 years in high school and German for 4 years in college. I studied Mandarin informally for about 4 months before moving to China. Now I speak Mandarin every day as my wife doesn't speak English. But it is far from being fluent. learning additional languages is a great thing, which offers a different perspective on the world around us. Nowadays, it's almost necessary to be able to speak more than just your native tongue.George (U.K.): No,unless they're taught from a very early stage of childhood.Mandarin is so difficult. If China really is going to dominate the world, it'll have to do so by speaking the world's dominant language—English.Sam (U.K.): I don't think Chinese will become as widely spoken throughout the world as English. It is too difficult to learn as a second language,To learn Chinese you completely have to devote yourself to learning how to write and read it. If you have to learn it besides other subjects you can't be good at it. But Chinese will become more popular, and that is a good thing.(1) What is probably Mark's main motivation (动机) for learning Chinese?________A. Further education.B. Effective communication.C. His frequent travel.D. The official policy.(2) What does Sam think of learning Chinese?________A. It's necessary.B. It's of little use.C. It takes too much time.D. It's not popular.(3) What seems to be the major problem when foreigners try to learn Chinese?________A. Its difficulty as a language.B. Misunderstanding about China.C. The great popularity of English.D. A lack of learning resources.B2.Cities usually have a good reason for being where they are, like a nearby port or river. People settle in these places because they are easy to get to and naturally suited to communications and trade. New York City, for example, is near a large harbour at the mouth of the Hudson River. Over 300 years its population grew gradually from 800 people to 8 million. But not all cities develop slowly over a long period of time. Boom towns grow from nothing almost overnight In 1896, Dawson, Canada, was unmapped wilderness (荒野). But gold was discovered there in 1897, and two years later, it was one of the largest cities in the West, with a population of 30000.Dawson did not have any of the natural conveniences of cities like London or Paris. People went there for gold. They travelled over snow-covered mountains and sailed hundreds of miles up icy rivers. The path to Dawson was covered with thirty feet of wet snow that could fall without warning. An avalanche (雪崩) once closed the path, killing 63 people. For many who made it to Dawson, however, the rewards were worth the difficult trip. Of the first 20000 people who dug gold, 4000 got rich. About 100 of these stayed rich men for the rest of their lives. But no matter how rich they were, Dawson was never comfortable. Necessities like food and wood were very expensive. But soon, the gold that Dawson depended on had all been found. The city was crowded with disappointed people with no interest in settling down, and when they heard there were new gold discoveries in Alaska, they left Dawson City as quickly as they had come. Today, people still come and go—to see where the Canadian gold rush happened. Tourism is now the chiefindustry of Dawson City—it’s present population is 762.(1) What attracted the early settlers to New York City?________A. Its business culture.B. Its small population.C. Its geographical position.D. Its favorable climate.(2) What do we know about those who first dug for gold in Dawson?________A. Two-thirds of them stayed there.B. One out of five people got rich.C. Almost everyone gave up.D. Half of them died.(3) What was the main reason for many people to leave Dawson?________A. They found the city too crowded.B. They wanted to try their luck elsewhere.C. Now, the website BookCrossing. com turns the page on the traditional idea of a book group.Members go on the site and register the books they own and would like to share. BookCrossing provides an identification number to stick inside the book. Then the person leaves it in a public place, hoping that the book will have an adventure, traveling far and wide with each new reader who finds it.Bruce Pederson, the managing director of BookCrossing, says, "The two things that change your life are the people you meet and books you read. BookCrossing combines both."Members leave books on park benches and buses, in train stations and coffee shops. Whoever finds their book will go to the site and record where they found it.People who find a book can also leave a journal entry describing what they thought of it. E-mails are then sent to the BookCrossing to keep them updated about where their books have been found. Bruce Peterson says the idea is for people not to be selfish by keeping a book to gather dust on a shelf at home.BookCrossing is part of a trend among people who want to get back to the "real"and not the virtual (虚拟). The site now has more than one million members in more than one hundred thirty-five countries.(1) Why does the author mention book groups in the first paragraph?________A. To explain what they are.B. This can be especially true of children. They may feel cut off from their friends and classmates. Now, these children may have a high-tech friend to help feel less lonely. That friend is a robot. The robot is called Avatarl (AV1). It takes their place at school. Through the robot, the children can hear their teachers and friends. They also can take part in classes from wherever they are recovering. And the children's school friends must help. They carry the robot between classes and place the robot on their desks.A Norwegian company called No Isolation created the robot. There are another two co-founders: Karen Dolva and Marius Aabel.Dolva explains how the robot works. She says from home the child uses an iPad or a phone to start the robot, control the robot's movements with touch, and talk through it. The child can take part in classroom activities. The robot is equipped with speakers, microphones and cameras that make communicating easy. So it's the eyes and the ears and the voice of the child atschool. Inside AVI is a small computer connected to a 4G network. A small camera connected to a small computer could do the job. But that would not be the same.AV1 was designed to be tough. It won't allow water to pass through it and can take a fall from a desk without damage. AV1 is large and looks like a human for a reason. Dolva says it can't be just a tiny camera because the other kids can't pick it up and take it with them. This is important because the robot is supposed to be a friend to the children.Hopefully AV1 will help some children feel less lonely while they are absent from class.(1) What is the passage mainly about?________A.

2019统编版(2019)高一上册期末综合测试卷学校:___________姓名:___________班级:___________考号:___________一、现代文阅读阅读下面的文字,完成下列小题。

取AD 中点H ,连接,FH GH ,则////HG CD EF ,平面EFGH 即为平面EFG , 在平面PAD 内,作DO FH ⊥,垂足为O ,则DO ⊥平面EFGH ,
