其实，一开始最好先粗略过一边下面手册中的几个章节：

如果你开始想用的是Explicit请先看

这两个Getting Started很好地介绍了ABAQUS的建模，提交分析，结果处理的全过程，很好地介绍了ABAQUS/CAE和ABAQUS/Viewer(CAE的一个子模块)的基本上手步
骤。
说到这个Getting Started，需要说明的是清华大学的庄茁老师曾经根据5.8版本翻译了这两本入门手册，但是由于ABAQUS从5.8以后引进了新的Pre/Post界面ABAQUSCAE/Viewer，因此要注意不要生搬硬套地在6.x版本上找什么ABAQUS POST模块。
2.Chapters 1 through 5 of the ABAQUS/CAE User's Manual
这前5张可以说是ABAQUS/CAE和ABAQUS/Viewer的"Getting Started"，如果你能在不看手册的情况下把上面的例题完整做出来的话，你就可以被认为过关啦。
3.ABAQUS Analysis User's Manual
Sections 1.1-1.3， Chapters 2 and 3， Section 4.1， the beginning of section 4.2， Sections 4.3， 5.1.1， 6.1， 6.2.1， 6.2.2， 6.2.5， 6.3.2， 6.3.3， 7.1， 7.7， Chapters 8， 9， 19， and 20.
这Sections 1-4主要讨论了如何使用ABAQUS来定义和运行一个分析问题，其余的sections将告诉你处理不同类型问题的基本手法。 这里也需要说明一点：从6.4-1开始， Hibbitt， Karlsson & Sorensen， Inc.公司易名为ABAQUS， Inc.， 同时ABAQUS的Standard User's Manual和Explicit User's Manual合并成了ABAQUS Analysis User's Manual。
另外，在学习过程中要注意合理使用下面两个非常有用的ABAQUS命令:

使用第一个命令可以根据关键词查找ABAQUS所有手册中可能会有的你关心的问题线索，尤其是在Example Problems Manual和Benchmarks Manual中的例题描述。然后使用第二个命令把相关例题的INP文件或者CAE文件提取出来，很多History命令是值得借鉴的。
