本单元话题为日常生活中的物品。
单元中的学习内容大体上是围绕该话题展开的,目口号有:—What’s this in English?—It’s a key.— Spell it, please.— K-E-Y.本单元涉及到英语不定冠词的用法和what引导的疑问句,还学习了英文字母Ii到Rr。
Section A部份的活动设计偏重本单元大体目口号的学习和操练。

Go for it! StarterUnit 2 What 's this in English?一、说教材Go for it! 学生用书的每个单元有6 页,其中包括Section A 、Section B 和Self Check 。
Section A 为目标句型提供分步示例和指导性练习;Section B 使学生能够对已经学过的目标句型运用自如;Self Check 使学生对自己现阶段的英语水平,即对本单元的语音目标的掌握程度有较为明确的认识。
Starter Unit 2 是Go for it! 预备篇三个单元中的第二单元。
预备篇是为了使没有英语学习基础的学生更好地使用本套教材而编写的。
它的主要内容为26 个英文字母和最基本的英语日常用语。

二、教学设计思路Go for it! 是以《英语课程标准》为依据,以培养学生的英语语言综合运用能力为目标。
每个单元的教学内容都围绕一个相对集中的主题,让学生在完成各项任务的过程中学会语言,真正体现“ Learn by doing. Learn through doing. ”的教学原则。
但是在Go for it! 的教材上,每个单元只有一个总体的教学内容安排,既没有具体的课时数安排,也没有分课时的教学内容安排。
所以,对教师来说,这是个机会——是灵活运用教材的机会。
对Go for it !,任何教学内容的调整或取舍,都是合理的。
但这也是挑战——教师必须从所教学生的实际水平和语言能力出发,合理安排每单元的课时数,设计好每课时的教学内容。
所以我想,教师在教学设计时,首先因根据自己学生的实际水平和语言能力,排出整个单元的总课时数,然后安排好每个课时的教学内容,设计好相应的教学步骤,以及运用相应的教学策略。

【语法全解】不定冠词a/an表示微弱的“一”的概念,但并不强调数目,只表示名词为不特定者。
a用在以辅音音素开头的单数可数名词或字母前,一般弱读为/ə/,在强调时才重读为/ei/;an用在以元音音素开头的单数可数名词或字母前,一般弱读为/ ən/,在强调时重读为/æn/。
(1)表示数量“一”。
