英语翻译-英译汉的技巧 真正掌握英译汉的技巧并非易事。这是因为英译汉时会遇到各种各样的困难;首先是英文理解难,这是学习、使用英文的人的共同感觉,由于两国历史、文化、风俗习惯的不同,所以一句英文在英美人看来顺理成章,而在中国人看来却是颠颠倒倒、断断续续,极为别扭。二是中文表达难,英译汉有时为了要找到一个合适的对等词汇,往往被弄得头昏眼花,好象在脑子里摸一个急于要开箱子的钥匙,却没有。另外,英译汉时对掌握各种文化知识的要求很高,因为我们所翻译的文章,其内容可能涉及到极为广博的知识领域,而这些知识领域多半是我们不大熟悉的外国的事情,如果不具备相应的文化知识难免不出现一些翻译中的差错或笑话。正是因为英译汉时会遇到这么多的困难,所以,我们必须通过翻译实践,对英汉两种不同语言的特点加以对比、概况和总结,以找出一般的表达规律来,避免出现一些不该出现的翻译错误,而这些表达的规律就是我们所说的翻译技巧。 一、词义的选择和引伸技巧 英汉两种语言都有一词多类和一词多义的现象。一词多类就是指一个词往往属于几个词类,具有几个不同的意义;一词多义就是同一个词在同一词类中又往往有几个不同的词义。在英译汉的过程中,我们在弄清原句结构后,就要善于运用选择和确定原句中关键词词义的技巧,以使所译语句自然流畅,完全符合汉语习惯的说法;选择确定词义通常可以从两方面着手: 1、根据词在句中的词类来选择和确定词义 They are as like as two peas .他们相似极了。(形容词) He likes mathematics more than physics .他喜欢数学甚于喜欢物理。(动词) Wheat, oat, and the like are cereals .小麦、燕麦等等皆系谷类。(名词) 2、根据上下文联系以及词在句中的搭配关系来选择和确定词义。 He is the last man to come .他是最后来的。 He is the last person for such a job .他最不配干这个工作。 He should be the last man to blame.怎么也不该怪他。 This is the last place where I expected to meet you .我怎么也没料到会在这个地方见到你。 词义引伸是我们英译汉时常用的技巧之一。翻译时,有时会遇到某些词在英语辞典上找不到适当的词义,如果任意硬套或逐词死译,就会使译文生硬晦涩,不能确切表达原意,甚至会造成误解。这时就应根据上下文和逻辑关系,从该词的根本含义出发,进一步加以引伸,引伸时,往往可以从三个方面来加以考虑。 1、词义转译。当我们遇到一些无法直译或不宜直译的词或词组时,应根据上下文和逻辑关系,引伸转译。 The energy of the sun comes to the earth mainly as light and heat .太阳能主要以光和热的形式传到地球。 2、词义具体化。根据汉语的表达习惯,把原文中某些词义较笼统的词引伸为词义较具体的词。 The last stage went higher and took the Apollo into orbit round the earth.最后一级火箭升得更高,把“阿波罗号”送进围绕地球运行的轨道。 3、词义抽象化。根据汉语的表达习惯,把原文中某些词义较具体的词引伸为词义较抽象的词,或把词义较形象的词引伸为词义较一般的词。 Every life has its roses and thorns .每个人的生活都有甜有苦。 二、词类转译技巧 在英译汉过程中,有些句子可以逐词对译,有些句子则由于英汉两种语言的表达方式不同,就不能逐词对译,只能将词类进行转译之后,方可使译文显得通顺、自然;对词类转译技巧的运用须从四个方面加以注意。 1、转译成动词。英语中的某些名词、介词、副词,翻译时可转译成汉语中的动词。 The lack of any special excretory system is explained in a similar way . 植物没有专门的排泄系统,可用同样的方式加以说明。(名词转译) As he ran out ,he forgot to have his shoes on .他跑出去时,忘记了穿鞋子。 2、转译成名词。英语中的某些动词、形容词,翻译时可转换成汉语中的名词。

高中英语课堂提问技巧之我见 发表时间:2012-11-07T09:33:08.840Z 来源:《新校园》学习版2012年第8期供稿作者:游双梅 [导读] 随着新课改的逐步推行,在课堂教学的各个环节中,都日益注重体现学生的主体地位。 游双梅(广州大学附属东江中学,广东河源517500) 随着新课改的逐步推行,在课堂教学的各个环节中,都日益注重体现学生的主体地位。就目前的情况来看,无论是自主探究还是课堂组织教学,教师都比较重视。而对于提问的技巧,有的教师却不是很重视。实际上,提问对于教师来说,是组织教学、检查教学效果的重要手段。对于学生来说,也是提高他们注意力、激发学习兴趣的重要方法。因此,提问问题的设计也直接关系到英语课堂教学的实际效果。但目前高中英语教学中班级大,学生的英语程度有较大差别,这就给教师在课堂中的提问带来了一定的难度。因此英语教师要精心准备提问的问题,灵活运用提问方法,才能收到良好的教学效果。 一、把提问放在正确的“篮子”里 有的教师觉得提问在课堂中是可有可无的,其实不然。在英语教学中,提问对于锻炼学生的听力和思维能力,是非常重要的一个手段。教师在进行提问设计时,要根据需要放在不同的“篮子”里,而不是为了提问而提问。 (一)导入式提问 顾名思义,这是在导入新课时的提问。俗话说得好,良好的开端是成功的一半。所以,一上课的提问,目的是吸引学生对新课的兴趣。所以导入新课的提问既要紧紧结合本节课的内容,又要紧紧吸引住学生的目光。 (二)讲解式提问 讲解时,学生有可能有注意力不集中的现象,所以在讲解时提问,除了提高学生的注意力之外,还可以引导学生对所学课文深入思考。这样既让学生参与了课堂教学,又可以在不知不觉中达到巩固所学知识的目的。 (三)复习式提问 在一堂课结束后的提问,与前两种作用不同的是,要检查学生的学习效果。所以这时候的提问,较之前两种,设计得可以稍微深入一点,引导学生对所学深入思考,举一反三。 以高二英语下册Unit 15 中的Lesson 58为例:这篇文章是一篇与破案有关的文章。对于学生来说,生词量大,而且过于抽象。这样的情况下,教师如果照本宣科、形式过于单调将不利于学生注意力的稳定,学生出现疲劳现象之后,将不利于教师顺利地组织课堂教学。因此,课前的提问设计要花点心思。例如: 1.What’s the problem with a young lady? 2.Was her life in danger? 3.Who will get the lady’s money when she dies? 4.Why did the famous detective decide to spend the nightlocked in the lady’s room? 5.Who wants to kill the young lady? 通过1、2 问题导入新课,学生的注意力会被提起来,从而想知道故事的最终发展。新课就在学生的高度注意中展开了。随后在学习新课的过程中,同样可以通过提问制造一些悬念,第三个问题使故事一波未平、一波又起,学生可以感觉到故事里的紧张情节。 而学完课文之后的问题4,这是一个复习式的提问,可以了解学生对于课文的了解和把握情况。问题4 则为故事的续集 埋下了巧妙的伏笔。 二、考虑学生的程度差别,问题也应难易“相随” 目前学校的办学额都比较大,学生的英语程度也是参差不齐的,所以教师要注意精心设计提问的难度,使各类学生都可以参与到课堂中来,最大限度地提高学生的参与能力。 以高一英语上册Unit 7 中的Lesson 26 and Lesson27为例:这篇课文是比较难理解的,因此在设计这篇课文的问题时,要注意照顾低层次学生的需要。可以尝试按课文顺序对问题重新设计如下: 1.In what part of the United States is San Francisco? 2.How many people lost homes after the earthquake? 3.What happened again in the city in the fall of 1989? 4.Why did the two worst earthquakes both happen in SanFrancisco? 5.What shall we do to make sure earthquakes do not destroywhole cities? 对于相对简单的问题1、2、3,可以让英语基础差的学生重点参与,因为这类问题不需要结合自己的理解组织答案,只要认真读过课文,就可以很容易找到答案。问题4、5 则相对偏难,这个就不是在课文中能直接找到答案的了,需要加入自己的理解,重新组织答案。这样的问题就不适合基础较弱的学生,而应该交给优等生。 三、方法多变、形式多样地运用提问方式 提问的设计也能体现出一堂课的魅力。作为教师,要想丰富课堂教学内容,提问的方式也不能单一。一般的问题,可以让个别学生单独回答。复杂的问题,则可以安排学生自主讨论后,由小组选出代表,集中地把本小组的观点呈现。例如,一些概括性强、答案涉及多个段落的问题,靠单个学生无法快速完成,可以让学生分小组自主探究,博采众长之后,使每个学生都对课文有一个全面的复习。 综上所述,提问绝不是课堂教学中不被重视甚至是可有可无的环节。分散在多个“篮子”中的提问环节,设计难易合理的提问难度,可以紧紧抓住学生的目光,提高学生的注意力。因此,作为英语教师,要好好利用提问这一有效的手段,达到提高课堂教学效率的目的。
