在英语教学中，信息技术将发挥越来越大的作用，能极大地促进学生英语学习的效果。
但如何将信息技术作为促进英语学习的工具呢？本文分析了两种决
定信息技术在英语教学中应用的因素，又根据不同种类的信息技术产品浅谈了一下它们各自在英语教学中的应用。

信息技术又被称为it，它是以电子技术为依托，以计算机技术为核心，对信息进行处理和加工的一系列现代化技术。
它能够将现实中的多种形式的信息（如声音，图像，文字等）存储起来，在需要的时候可以通过多种方式呈现出来，例如声音，图像，视频，动画，当然也包括用的最多的文字。
我们在感受到这些信息以后可以对它们做出反应，而这些反应可以通过一定的设备（如键盘、鼠标、话筒等）让计算机知道，计算机知道我们的反应以后，又可以对我们的反应做出反应（如显示出某些图像或文字，或者发出某种声音等），我们再对这些信息做出反应，如此继续下去，这其实就是一个交流的过程，正如我们平时相互之间使用语言进行交流一样，只是人与人之间相互交流和人与计算机之间相互交流所使用的“语言”不同。
信息技术能实现这样的交流功能，那么这些功能怎样服务于我们的英语教学呢？信息技术在英语教学中的应用取决于两个方面，一
方面取决于我们现在所能用的信息技术手段的发展的水平是什么样的，能达到什么程度，或者说是具备什么样的条件；另一方面取决于我们在教学实践中的探索和挖掘，信息技术具有信息处理的功能，但是这个功能不会自动地变为能促进教学相长的教学资源和手段，我们应根据教学实际需要，创造性地构建和利用资源。
说到这里，我们可以回想一下我们常规的，在没有信息技术的情况下的教学活动。
对英语而言，我们最终的目的是帮助学生能够熟练地运用英语来表达事物和思想，而要达到这个目的，就要让学生在头脑中对英语的基本要素如单词、语法等非常熟悉，而达到这个非常熟悉的过程实质上就是一个强化条件反射的过程，这样说来，我们平时所做的所有的教学活动和学生的所有的学习活动都是做着这样一件事情--建立和强化条件反射，无论我们是让学生记单词，背课文，对话，造句，阅读，写作等，无不是让学生熟悉英语的单词和语法在表达中的实际意义。
把这样一个事实认识清楚了，我们就容易定位信息技术在英语教学中的应用了。
显而易见，信息技术作为英语学习的强化工具再适合不过了。
信息技术作为在英语学习中的强化手段，有哪些具体的方式呢？（一）利用随身数码设备进行强化。
这里所说的随身数码设备包括mp3，mp4，手机，掌上学习机如好记星，文曲星等。
数码设备无疑是信息技术的产品，拥有这些随身数码设备的学生越来越多。
在英语教学中，应先认识到这一实际情况，然后对学生使用数码设备强化英语学习给予必要的指导。
随身数码设备最大的特点就在于可
随身携带，这样英语学习的强化就可以随时进行了。
怎样使用这些数码设备进行强化呢？可以将单词，课文的录音随时播放以达到强化的目的，而且时间很自由，可以选择晚上休息前，这个时候不受心理学中提到的后摄抑制的影响，记忆效果会好一些。
在平时，可以将自己或者其他人读和说的英语录制下来，供自己在语音等方面强化。
（二）用投影配合计算机进行强化。
投影在创设情境方面有着非常突出的作用。
语言是离不开一定的语境的，用投影创设的视听环境能使学生对一定环境下的语言的使用形成非常深刻的印象，这对于强化一定情境下的英语有着不可替代的作用。
在条件允许的情况下，应尽可能多用投影，这对于提高英语学习的效果是非常有益的。
（三）对英语要素熟悉或掌握的情况进行检测以协助强化。
语言的掌握情况是可以检测的。
检测实际上是对教学结果或学生掌握情况的一种测量，也就是平时所说的考试。
在目前，考试应该是教学的一部分。
现在大多数观点都认为应试教育是有缺陷的，应该进行全面的素质教育。
这是没错的，但考试仍是不可缺少的，尤其是对语言的掌握情况。
在衡量一个人道德水平，动手能力方面，通常的考试的确是有不足之处或者说是难以实现准确测量，但在衡量语言掌握情况方面，确实是比较准确的。
应用信息技术中的网络技术可以实现英语在线考试，学生在各自的电脑上完成平时在试卷上完成的题目，这些题目可以是主观题，也可以是客观题，可以包括听力，学生答完以后，答案将随着学生的提交被传送到服务器。

题如作文，可以由教师在线批改，对于客观题，可以由服务器即时批改，学生很快就可以知道答题的情况，服务器也将记录下所有学生的答题情况，老师和学生都得到了及时的反馈。
及时的反馈对于强化是很有好处的，对于正确的，得到了正强化，记忆得到了更进一步的加强，对于错误的，得到了负强化，知道什么是正确的，以后不会再犯同样的错误。
（四）机器人辅助英语教学。
机器人技术是信息技术中的高端技术，也是信息技术未来发展的方向。
本次奥运会上，有福娃造型的机器人，它们会多国语言，可以与人进行直接的对话。
真正语言的掌握归根结底是要通过交流才能完成的，可以想象，在不远的将来，如果我们的学生身边有可以和他们用英语进行对话的机器人朋友，那他们英语学习的效果一定是突飞猛进的。
