The very first recorded literary works in history were fantasy: Homer’s Odyssey, The Book of a Thousand Nights and a Night and countless others.Modern literature forms are based on them. Fantasy is particularly the only form of literature that has no clear boundaries between adult fiction and children’s fiction. Lewis Garroll’s books Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, for instance were published over 100 years ago. The books were in fact written for a child — the original Alice, who was the daughter of a friend of Carroll ’ s.However, they are just as often read by adults looking for an escape back to a simple time.A more modern example is J . K.Rowling ’ s Harry Potter series, which have caused a revolution in the publishing world. While these again are aimed at a youth market, they have become a fashion for people of all ages.

Module 2 Fantasy Literature Philip Pullman Section ⅤWriting-

1.Once upon a time, there lived a king.

2.Long long ago, there lived a king.

He just stood, wondering and then the ring said, “Young man, a kind girl is trapped by a witch in the castle ahead. If you are brave enough to rescue her, you will gain happiness. Put on me and I will help you.”________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ 第一步:审题构思很关键一、审题1.

(简单句)The_young_man,_together_with_the_girl,_defeated_the_witch,_and_they_lived_a _happy_life_together. 将句1和句2合并成用动词ing形式作状语的句子The_young_man_didn't_hesitate_to_put_the_ring_on_his_finger,_surprisingly_d iscovering_that_he_disappeared,_invisible_to_other_people.2.用on+动词ing形式改写句4On_approaching_the_castle,_he_put_on_the_ring,_and_entered_the_castle.3.用动词ing形式作状语改写句7With_the_help_of_the_ring,_he_found_the_magical_club_in_a_golden_box,_and_d estroyed_it_successfully,_thus_removing_the_spell_put_on_the_girl_by_the_witch. Once upon a time, a young man was walking through a wood when he saw a shining ring lying on the ground. He just stood, wondering and then the ring said, “Youngman, a kind girl is trapped by a witch in the castle ahead. If you are brave enough to rescue her, you will gain happiness. Put on me and I will help you.”The_young_man_didn't_hesitate_to_put_the_ring_on_his_finger,_surprisingly_d iscovering_that_he_disappeared,_invisible_to_other_people._He_felt_more_confide nt_and_headed_for_the_castle_ahead._On_approaching_the_castle,_he_put_on_the_ri ng,_and_entered_the_castle._Eventually,_he_found_the_girl,_on_whom_the_witch_ha d_put_a_spell._He_learned_that,_unless_someone_destroyed_the_witch's_magical_cl ub,_the_girl_couldn't_move_forever._With_the_help_of_the_ring,_he_found_the_mag ical_club_in_a_golden_box,_and_destroyed_it_successfully,_thus_removing_the_spe ll_put_on_the_girl_by_the_witch.The_young_man,_together_with_the_girl,_defeated_the_witch,_and_they_lived_a_hap py_life_together.。
