1. across, over＆ through
（1）across表示的是从某物的一边到另一边;指从表面上横过。例如：
She ran across the road. 她从马路上跑过。
（2）through表示从内部通过，有“穿过，透过”等意思。例如：
They went through the forest. 他们穿过森林。
（3）over 是指从物体的正上方过去，并且不与物体接触。例如：
The cat jumps over the wall and runs away.
2. tour, travel, journey＆trip
（1）tour 意为“旅行”， 表示旅行完再返回原出发点。例如：
We are going on the tour of the city this afternoon.
我们今天下午要到城里去观光。
（2）trip通常指短距离的旅行、远足。例如：
I enjoyed our trip to the seaside.
我喜欢我们到海边的旅行。
（3）journey 常指远距离的陆地旅行。例如：
They decided to take a train journey. 他们决定坐火车旅行。
（4）travel 指广义的旅行，而不是指某次具体的旅行，常指长途旅行或者国外旅行。例如：
He came home after years of foreign travel. 在国外旅行多年之后他回家了。
3. famous
famous是形容词，意为“著名的，有名的，出名的”，在句中可作定语或表语。例如：
Yao Ming is a famous basketball player. 姚明是一位著名的篮球运动员。

一、教材分析：
本模块以“Around town”为话题，以出行旅游为主线，对话部分通过读地图呈现指路及表明具体位置的语言；阅读课文在继续呈现这方面语言的同时，向学生介绍了英国伦敦的一些名胜古迹。本模块中的听、说、读、写活动都围绕问路指路、地点方位等展开，给学生提供了充足的体验和运用语言的机会。Unit 2了解伦敦的著名建筑， 通过读、写训练，培养学生看地图的能力，读懂指路的指示语并训练笔头表达能力；其中活动1—3要求学生结合地图阅读文章，了解伦敦的著名建筑，巩固词汇，检测对细节的理解。活动4要求学生再次细读课文完成句子。最后落实到要求学生仿照伦敦之旅的描写来描绘自己学校并表达对校园的热爱之情，增强运用所学英语语言知识的实践能力。
二、学情分析：
1、这节课的目的是让学生通过学习和交流，巩固表达方位的介词短语和有关指点道路的交际用语。学生对即将学习的内容已经具备的水平：在学习Module8 Unit2之前，在Unit中学生已经学习和熟练掌握本单元的词汇和有关问路及指点道路的交际用语。
2、在学习本课之前已具备的语言基础和技能：
表达方位的介词短语：on the left/right,opposite,between…and;in the middle of等
有关问路及指点道路的交际用语：
——Where is …？/How can I get to …？
/Which is the way to …？/Can you tell me the way to …？
