”眷、顾——这两个词都有“回头看”的意思,但程度不同。

“顾”指一般性的回头看,《说文》:“顾,还视也。

” “眷”指深深地回头看,《说文》:“眷,顾也。

”段玉裁注:“顾者,还视也;眷者,顾之深也。

顾止于侧而已,眷则至于反。

“句”的本义就是弯曲,《说文》:“句,曲也。

”“钩”指“钩子”,《说文》:“钩,曲钩也。

”《玉篇》:“钩,铁曲也。

”“笱”是“曲竹捕鱼笱也”,即大口小颈、颈部装有倒须、腹大而长、鱼入而不能出的竹笼子。

“痀”为“曲脊也”,即驼背。

“跔指“天寒足跔” 跔”,段玉裁说:“跔者,句曲不伸之意。

”“朐”是“屈曲的干肉”,“軥”是车轭两边叉马颈的曲木。

乔、桥、骄、娇、蹻、趫、憍——这一组词都有“高”义。

“乔”是高而上曲之意,松、杨、桦等高大的树木叫“乔木”,人由差的地方搬到好的地方居住或官职高升,叫“乔迁”。

“桥”是架在水上以便通行的建筑物,它高出地平面,往往“上曲”。

“骄”指“马高六尺”,引申指自视甚高,即骄傲。

“娇”本指女子姿态妩媚可爱,色美即有“高”义;引申指娇惯、娇宠,如杜甫《北征》:“平生所娇儿,颜色白胜雪。

”成语有“娇生惯养”,“娇惯”即视之甚高。

“蹻”是把脚举高,《说文》:“蹻,举足行高也。

”朱骏声《说文通训定声》:“蹻,今多以‘翘’为之。

”“趫”指有缘木登高的本领,《说文》:“趫,善缘木走之才。

”“憍”是高高地仰起头,《集韵》:“憍,虚憍,高仰也。

拿古代汉语的单音词与现代汉语中意义相当的复音词相比,大致有以下几种情形:(一)古代汉语的单音词加上词缀成为现代汉语的双音词:鼠—老鼠;虎—老虎;斧—斧头;石—石头;舌—舌头;兔—兔子;(二)古代的两个意义相同或相近的单音词构成现代汉语的双音词:明显、朋友、存在、学习、道路、国家;(三)古代的单音词被现代完全不同的复音词代替:师——军队;股——大腿;曩——从前;坼——裂开。

古代汉语以单音词为主,也有一定数量的复音词。

古代汉语的复音词可分为单纯词和复合词两类。

(一)单纯词是由一个语素构成的词。

复音单纯词是指有两个音节而只有一个语素的这类词。

古代汉语的复音单纯词包括叠音词和联绵词两类。

叠音词指由两个相同音节重叠而成的词。

主要功能是摹拟声音、描绘状貌。

如:“关关雎鸠”、“坎坎伐檀兮”、“桃之夭夭,灼灼其华”等。

联绵词指由两个不同音节构成的单纯词。

又可以分为双声联绵词、叠韵联绵词等几类。

如:倜傥、仿佛、踌躇、踟躇、参差、玲珑、犹豫、流离等;徘徊、逡巡、逍遥、披靡、须臾、窈窕、龌龊、望洋、绸缪等。

双声叠韵联绵词:辗转、优游。

非双声叠韵:滂沱、扶摇、狼藉等。

(二)复合词:同义复词:由两个意义相同或相近的语素构成,在凝固成词前都可以独立运用,在词义上有共性也有差异,合成一个词后,共性得到加强,差异可以忽略不计。

【恐惧】齐王闻之,君臣恐惧(冯谖客孟尝君)恐:外界刺激而引起害怕;惧:发自内心的慌惑。

【恭敬】不忘恭敬,民之主也(晋灵公不君)恭:外表有礼貌;敬:内心敬畏。

偏义复词:由两个意义相反或相互对举的语素组合而成,在具体使用时,只有其中一个语素表义,另一个语素只起陪衬作用。
