初中英语课外活动常见的形式
初中英语课外活动的形式应是多种多样，教师可以根据学生的不同年龄、年级、性格、兴趣和特长，采取不同的活动形式。
常见的有以下几种：
1、组织性活动。
这种活动则是在学生自己组织，自愿参加，教师充当指导,顾问等情况下，着重丰富学生的课余英语生活，创造英语语言环境，培养创造兴趣，创新意识和创造才华。
英语歌曲演唱组：教学生爱唱的一些课外英文歌曲。
学校广播可以播放英文歌曲。
英语朗诵组：朗诵是一种锻炼学生口头表达能力，强化英语阅读与欣赏能力的好方法。
它能够促进学生了解英语语言国家的背景，政治，经济，文化，礼仪等。
形式可分为全校性的也可分年级性的，一个班也能进行。
这样一来会使同学们的语音，语调，阅读能力将会得到较大程度的提高。
如朗诵英语诗歌、绕口令、幽默、笑话、故事和英语演讲等。
如：有的班级会进得课前两分钟的report.就很好。
英语游戏组：做英语游戏可以增强学习热情和自信，同时，也可发展熟巧的口语。
是巩固词汇，语法，训练发音的有效手段。
如字母游戏、辨误游戏、单词接龙、击鼓传花、扩句游戏、数字游戏、连句游戏、智力游戏、猜谜游戏等。
游戏可配合课堂内容，经常做：如：组句游戏
英语黑板报小组：让学生自办英文板报，可提高学习英语的兴趣，进行创造性劳动的锻炼，又可培养他们的创造思维。

2、竞赛性活动。
它是一种以奖励为手段的促研活动。
大多数学生的表现欲和荣誉感比较强，适当地在课外开展一些竞赛活动，既可以提高学生学习英语的兴趣，调动他们的学习积极性，又能对学生的思维、记忆、理解、反应等能力综合训练，有利于综合素质的培养。
我们可自上而下，亦可在校内组织有计划地开展一些有益于学生身心发展的活动，及至社会的承认和赞誉,从而激起更热烈的内驱力。
每次活动后老师作总结时要指出褒扬的地方，亦应指出存在的问题，提出希望及今后努力的方向。
英语竞赛的形式有书写比赛、识记单词比赛、朗读比赛、查字典比赛、歌咏比赛、英语智力比赛等。
各种竞赛活动最好由学生主持，由教师和学生共同组成评委小组，竞赛优胜者可以给予一定的奖励。
3、娱乐性活动。
这类活动有助于帮助学生提高学习效率，端正学习态度，改进学习方法，开阔眼界等，学生在活动中学到英语，在活动中增长知识。
常见的娱乐性活动为： English party。
唱英语歌曲，绕口令，幽默，笑话，小故事，朗诵等。
4、创设开放性语言活动。
开设英语角：英语口语能力的培养，仅仅利用课堂上的训练是不够的，必须为口语表达的培养创造一个全方位的环境，这样在校园内开辟英语角是很必要的。
为了避免学生不知道在英语角说什么，每次英语角活动应有一个班级负责主持，事先帖出海报，预告英语角活动的主题，学生可以围绕主题相互交流，也可以聊自己喜欢或感兴趣的话题。
英语角为搞好英语课外活动创设出开放性的语言环境，它没有了课堂的约束，缩小了师生间的距离，消除了学生的紧张感，师生共同参与，气氛会非常融洽。
学生摆脱了课堂中的拘束，把平时在课堂中输入的知识在英语角这个较为真实的语言环境里尽情的输出，提高了英语运用能力，激发了学生学习英语的积极性。

教师可利用幻灯片和录音，组织开展课外活动。
电视录像的声、画结合的动态方式传送语音和非语言信息，极大地丰富了活动内容，加深听力理解和记忆。
教师运用适当的演播方式如无声观看，只听不看，定格观看，创设信息图的方法，再配合其他的活动（小组讨论，选择回答，角色扮演，再创表演等）既加深学生对知识的理解，又培养学生各种能力。
