其名back to future, 公映于1985年7月3日，加上1989年和1990年的两部续集，构成了经典的三部曲。
马丁从小生活在一个平凡至极的家庭，父亲懦弱无能，毫无骨气，除了看电视和吃东西没有其他的爱好。
而且经常被自己的上司欺负。
使得马丁在学校里也被老师瞧不起，因为这名老师在三十年前曾经也是他爸爸乔治的老师。
而妈妈当年因为同情心而嫁给他的爸爸，婚后一直活在幻想中，渐渐变成一个酗酒而肥胖的妇女。
他的姐姐和哥哥也缺乏才华，哥哥做一名普通的工人，而姐姐也像妈妈一样臃肿，缺乏魅力。

认真重温了电影，发现在影片的片头，一个自动装置开启狗食罐头的场景就为观众营造出了一种生活化的氛围。
