When they absorb the positive role and negative aspects of influence them at the same time. In our society, television violence is overwhelming. This problem becomes worse.We cannot ignore it brings negative effects. How to take countermeasures can be a new question for discussion.ChapterⅡ Background of TV violence2.1 The definition of TV definitionThe spread of the famous American scientist Gebona defines violence as " intentionally injure or kill a blatant manifestation of force ." His definition includes only violence, exclusion of psychological violence, verbal threats and violence against property. In 1988, the Singapore mass communication research and information center on 8 Asian countries raised TV violence monitoring and violence that "someone or some people with a physical or speech from psychological or physical harm, as well as to property and the destruction of the flesh." At present, China 'smedia researchers have not proposed specific definition of television violence. Gao Bing, in his master's thesis “in the research on TV violence and media education television violence”divides TV violence into action violence and language violence. TV programs often show massacres, fights, corporal punishment, abductions, detention and restrictions on freedom,these action scenes deemed to be typical scenes of action violence.The curse , offensive language was regard as typical language of violence is also discussed in this article will adopt this relatively broad definition.2.2 The history of TV violenceThe people's lives has a huge change after the appearance of television , it makes our life rich and colorful. We can get news from TV ,later enjoy film and music from it.With more and more rich TV program , people are increasingly worried about the content of television programs are healthy or unhealthy.That is people worried about TV violence. In fact,since the beginning of television in the 1950’s ,the government had always worried about the bad influence that television would have on the public.A large part of the content of television programs is violence , because such content is too common, many parents are difficult to realize that these are unsuitable for children. Some violence content not only be viewed , but also personally operations, such as electronic games. Based on the analysis of entertainment , including adescription of the contents of 61% interpersonal violence.Children’s programs also have a very high proportion of violent content. In 1939-1999, one hundred percent of American animated movies involved violent content. And its contents and the level of violence has a tendency to gradually increase. In shaping the hero role, particularly in the us media loves to use violence to solve the problem. For example Michael Jackson caused a great stir music video "black or white".In the past 20 years, the global box office revenue basically is an action movie world, it is a violent movie,but not violent movies are basically nobody cares.The famous global animation industry, the Walt Disney Company originally is good at produced traditional fairy tales and humorous episodes in children’s animation program.But now have to make exciting battle scenes, such as Tom and Jerry. In addition, the video game content basically is the battle.ChapterⅢ Forms of television violence3.1 Discourse violenceDiscourse of violence is to use abusive、slander,、contempt、ridicule and insult other discriminatory language, lead to another person's mental and psychological invasion and damage.It is the scope of mental harm.In television , the most common way of presenting television violence are TV drama and film.In normal times, many children spend a long time sitting on the TV to watch movies or TV drama.Recently, there are a lotof parents found the child to imitate characters in movies and television say dirty words. For example, we often see vicious war movie and people of Hong Kong gangster movies said some dirty words.Discourse violence represents the negative energy. Such as "hell", "I want to kill you", "go to hell", "idiot", we should not say these words with violence. The film or television as a media product, it should transfer to the community's positive energy.When we design the characters' language, we should try to use civilized language.If there are many violent language in movies or TV programs, the children will become hostile because children are good at imitating and can be a very good imitation.So we should keep children away from violent movies, give them a healthy environment.3.2 Act of violenceThe act of violence is based on personal and property against the target of violence, to resort to violence, physical and mental health of the victims and caused great damage to lives and property, and directly endangers the life, health and freedom.In our normal life,there are a lot of acts of violence in cartoons,TV shows and movies.For example , China has a very famous popular children 's cartoon Rainbow Cat and Blue Rabbit Seven Chivalrous Biography.But this cartoon came to be banned to play, because the cartoons are full of violence, intimidation and threats. There is a very special kind of film in Hong Kong's film industry,that is Young and Dangerous series of films.In this series of films, the mostcommon type of content is bloody picture.If your child is watching a TV program, which can cause children to learn this kind of violence, even hurt others. Parents should limit children watching this movie.ChapterⅣ The influence of TV violence on childrenThe children will mimic the behavior of violent television by observing and then practice.Aggressive attitudes and behavior can all be learned through observation and imitation.Children is vulnerable in this aspect , because children is hard to describe the difference between reality and fantasy.They are easier to learn and accept the contents of the environment,of course,which including television programs among the attitudes and behaviors of violence.Children learn through observation and try to generate behavioral imprinting.This would allow them to keep their initial experience, this is the effect of special learning experience.Imprinting process of violence in children 's generation will became a sense of hostility.In the future, they will be hostile to others and alert mind in social activities.This is a behavior modification found in practice that early experience of the behavior of this defect is very difficult to correct..Children’s learning ability is high, they will be affected more from television violence.The children who long time exposure to violence will make them regard violence as the only way to solve the problem.According to the survey, like playing video games children are more likely to use violence against others.Maybe their violence to arelearning from the video game.Campus shootings in the us in recent years can prove it.Hundreds of studies about the effects of TV violence on children and teenagers have found that children may:1.become "immune" or numb to the horror of violence2.gradually accept violence as a way to solve problems3.imitate the violence they observe on television4.identify with certain characters, victims and/or victimizersIn order to avoid serious consequences, parents and education officials have took corresponding measures to guide the child not be affected by violenceChapterⅤContemporary studies5.1Gerbner 's cultivation theoryIn the 20th century at the end of 1960, the Gebona created the theory of cultural adaptation, his background is mainly TV media has played a more and more big social influence, especially the negative impact. Gebona under the support of the U.S. government began this study.According to this theory,when television transmit the violence information , severe viewer will build the real world based on symbols provided by these information.They think society is filled with violence, crime, and lack of trust between man and man.If children grow up in such a medium environment, it will be a dark world for them and make his boyhood become a victim.Acculturationtheory may be appropriate for certain types of television programs, but may not be suitable for all types of television programs.5.2 Social learning theoryBandura believed their children’s lives by observing the behavior of important people and learn social behavior , these observations are stored in a special form in the brain, to help them mimic the behavior.Banbury’s theory accepted principles of behaviorism most accepted theory of the house, but more emphasis on the role of ideological behavior.Social learning theory suggests that people be able to imitate the behavior observed, when such behavior is rewarded and strengthened, and the learning process occurs.In modern society, TV will be the observational learning objects, which provide children with a number of demonstration model.According to Bandura's view, the image of the child on the widespread media, whether it is the media's image or fiction, children are more likely than adults to imitate and learn.So when this happens in real life, the children will imitate the behavior.This behavior will be a long-term behavior by imitating media continue to strengthen,According to this theory, television violence will lead the children to imitate and violence in real life.Chapter VI Improvement and effort to TV media andsociety should do6.1 The efforts of patent and school6.1.1 Increase communication with their childrenBecause children are susceptible to the influence of violence,so the final responsibility due to parents and schools, but parents should take more responsibility.Because the future of moral standards and principles of children are largely formed in the family.Parents strengthen the equal dialogue and communion with children is the most important protection measures.People often say that parents are the best teacher for children, parents and family influence on children is one of the biggest, and more than other factors.The school also has a very important responsibility.Because children learn in school and the school should give correct guidance.6.1.2 Watch TV with your childDue to the intense pace of life, many parents have little time watch TV with their children.Parents should not let children watch too much television, and should as much as possible watch television with their kids together. Experts advocate a healthy outlook on life, and encourage them to learn new knowledge.With the development of science and technology, high-tech things can help us to deal with many bad things on us. For example, the software can help us to filter out a lot ofviolence.
