Using the page Activity 1 Listen. Point. Say. Play the audio or read the names of the different rooms in the house several tims for the Ss to repeat. Then have the Ss point to the rooms as you name them. (CD2: 16) Introduce the preposition in by pointing to the father and saying, “This is the father. He’s in the kitchen.” Then point to other family members in the house and identify in which room he or she is. Play the audio or read Homer and Hanna’s conversation several times for the Ss to repeat. Guide the Ss in answering similar questions about the location of each member of the family in the picture. Point to the furnishings in the house to present bathtub, bed, bookcase, lamp, sofa, stove, table, chairs, and TV. Then have the Ss point to each item as you name it. Then help the Ss point to each item as you name it. Then help the Ss identify what furnishings are in the bedroom, and living room. Ask, “Where’s the bed?” (It’s in the bedroom.)
