My New Year’s Resolutions（Writing）

By Dai Chunyan Teaching aims and demands:

Knowledge and ability:

1. Review phrases: Eat more vegetables, get lots of exercise, help with housework….

2.Know the meaning of resolution and can express own New Year’s resolutions using the structure — be going to.

3.Stdudents according to the model of the writing to finish writing by themselves。

Process and Methods :

1. Learn to form good daily habits, and let them know good habits can make them succeed.

2. Guide the students to master the abilities of their writing skills. Emotion, Attitude and Value:

Let students know it’s very necessary to make resolutions. And the key to make their wishes and plans come true is to do and carry them out. Teaching Importance and Difficulty:

Finish the writing use the key phrases and the structure — be going to. Teaching Methods：Task-based teaching and Situational teaching method Teaching aid: Multimedia courseware

Teaching Steps:

Step 1 Lead-in

Teacher asks questions : What day is it today ? When is New Year’s Day? Ss answer these questions. T: New Year is coming, why not make a New Year’s Resolution

Step 2 Pre-writing

1 Share a short video about students’New Year’s Resolutions

2. How to make resolution about health, study, hobby and family .Review the phrases.

Step 3 While writing

1. Work in goups: My New Year’s resolution is about…, I’m going to … And students say the sentence one by one.

2. Challenge (Snowball)

Give students some words each student add not more than three words. Do like this:

A：lesson B: take dancing lessons C: I am going to take dancing lessons.

D: I am going to take dancing lessons next year.

E:I am going to take dancing lessons next year with my mother . Step 4 Post writing

1.Show the writing task : Write a passage about your New Year’s

Resloutions.

2.Give the model of writing .

3.Students write their own passage, teacher help the students who

need help.

Step 5 Homework

Write a survey about your group’s New Year’s Resloution . Blackboard Design:
