Luoyang is in Henan Province, which is right in the middle of China. It's a really old and historic city that used to be the capital a long, long time ago. There are so many cool things to see and do there!First up, we visited the Longmen Grottoes. These are giant caves with thousands of Buddha statues carved right into the rock! The biggest one is a towering Buddha that is 17 meters tall. That's like a 5 story building! My mind was blown by how the ancient people could carve something so massive out of solid rock over 1,500 years ago. There are also lots of smaller Buddha carvings that look very pretty and detailed. We had to do a lot of walking to see all the different grottoes and caves, but it was totally worth it. I've never seen anything like it before!Next, we checked out the Shaolin Temple. This is the famous Buddhist temple where Shaolin kung fu was created centuriesago. We watched some of the kung fu student monks practice their martial arts. They could do all kinds of crazy flips, jumps, and fight moves. It was like a real life kung fu movie! We even got to take a beginner's class and learn a few basic punches and kicks. Let me tell you, kung fu is no joke – I was sweating like crazy after just 30 minutes. But now I can say I trained at the legendary Shaolin Temple! How cool is that? After all that exercise, we needed to relax a bit. So we headed over to the Sui and Tang Dynasty City ruins. This place re-creates what an ancient Chinese capital used to look like, complete with palaces, gardens, houses, and city walls. It was awesome stepping back in time and imagining what life was like way back then. We got to go inside the buildings and see displays of pottery, artwork, clothing, and more from the Sui and Tang periods. My favorite was definitely the exhibits on chariots and weapons used in ancient battles. The tour guides were really funny and told us lots of wild stories too.Of course, you can't go to Luoyang without eating the most famous snack – watercress mud buns! We had them fresh and piping hot straight from the famous Persimmon Tree Mud Bun shop that's been around since the 1700s. The buns are stuffed with juicy pork and vegetables and then steamed in a specialmud oven. They tasted absolutely divine! The flaky crust and savory filling was out of this world. We bought a huge bag to take back to our hotel room.Speaking of hotels, we stayed at this amazing place called the Chrysanthemum Hotel. It's nestled in the beautiful Chrysanthemum Woods park area filled with winding paths, ponds, and pagodas surrounded by thousands of chrysanthemum flowers. Our hotel room opened right up onto a private garden area. It was like staying in a imperial palace! Every morning we'd wake up to the peaceful sounds of birds chirping and a light floral breeze. The hotel restaurant also served us delicious Henan cuisine every day like noodles, dumplings, and giant smashed refreshing bowls of liangpi cold rice noodles.I could go on and on about all the awesome things we did in Luoyang, but I'm running out of room! We visited temples, tombs, museums, shopped at the night markets, and saw so many other heritage sites. Luoyang is truly an amazing place brimming with history, culture, fun activities and delicious food around every corner. I had such a blast and can't wait to go back again someday. If you ever get the chance, you have to experience the wonders of Luoyang for yourself!篇2My Awesome Trip to Luoyang!Hi friends! I just got back from the most amazing trip to Luoyang, which is an really old and important city in central China. I went with my mom, dad, and little sister during our winter vacation from school. Luoyang has been around for over 3,700 years and it used to be one of the capital cities of ancient China. There's so much cool history and culture everywhere you look! Our first stop was the amazing Longmen Grottoes. This is a huge area with thousands of little caves carved right into the side of a mountain! Inside the caves there are giant Buddha statues and incredible stone carvings on the walls. It's like an underground museum frozen in time from a thousand years ago. My favorite one had a 17 meter tall Buddha carved into the center. That's taller than a 3-story building! The carvings show Buddha, his followers, and scenes from ancient stories. I could have spent days just looking at all the details.Next we visited the ancient Shaolin Temple up in the misty Song Mountains. This is the super famous birthplace of Shaolin Kung Fu! We watched the monk martial arts students practice and they looked like a blur, punching and kicking with lightning speed. They taught me a few simple moves and I felt like a littlekung fu master! The main halls of the temple are beautifully painted and covered in golden dragons. My little sister loved seeing the rock gardens and fish ponds. We even tried some vegetarian Buddhist cuisine for lunch - the noodles and dumplings were delicious!Another highlight was the Luoyang Museum, which has one of the biggest collections of Chinese relics and artifacts anywhere. We saw amazing ancient bronzes, ceramics, jade carvings, and calligraphy pieces. There was even a 3,000 year old intact tomb with the skeletons and funerary items still inside! My favorite was the hall of ancient carriages and chariots, including thelargestwooden carriage ever discovered that was used by royalty. We watched an exhibit showing the traditional crafts like embroidery, paper cutting, and pottery that Luoyang is famous for.On another day we explored the colorful Xuanzang Temple. This huge Buddhist complex was built to honor the famous monk Xuanzang who traveled all the way to India in the 600s to study Buddhism. There are beautiful gardens with koi ponds and bridges. We burned incense and bowed to the gigantic statues inside the main halls. My sister got her fortune told by a smiling Buddhist monk! We also saw the ancient Big Wild Goose Pagodawhich leans at a slight angle after being rebuilt so many times over the centuries. No trip to Luoyang would be complete without tasting all the delicious local food! For breakfast we had the Luoyang specialty "persimmon cake" which tasted like a soft, sweet bread filled with persimmon puree. It was so yummy! We snacked on "water celery" which is a type of flavorful crunchy celery found nowhere else. My dad's favorite was the hot and spicy "baked persimmon" kebabs. I loved the freshly made crispy sesame cakes drizzled with syrup - they tasted like churros! For dinner we feasted on the famous "Luoyang waterfowl" where the ducks and geese are baked underground in hot clay ovens untilmelt-in-your-mouth tender.I had such an amazing time in Luoyang learning all about the rich history and traditions. The ancient temples, grottoes, and museums brought the past back to life right before my eyes. I can't wait to go back again and see what other surprises this magical city has in store!篇3My City LuoyangHi everyone! My name is Xiao Ming and I'm from the amazing city of Luoyang in Henan Province, China. Luoyang is one of the oldest cities in my country and it's super cool. Today, I want to tell you all about the beautiful scenery and yummy food that makes my city so special!First, let me tell you about the incredible scenery in Luoyang. We have so many awesome historical sites and natural wonders. One of my favorite places is the Longmen Grottoes. These are massive ancient Buddhist cave sculptures carved into the rocky mountains along the Yi River. There are over 100,000 Buddha statues of all different sizes! Some of them are gigantic and taller than a tree. My dad says the carvings began way back in 493 AD during the Northern Wei Dynasty. That's like over 1,500 years ago! Isn't that crazy old?Another amazingly ancient place is the Shaolin Monastery. This is the famous birthplace of Shaolin Kung Fu! The monastery is located at the foot of the Songshan Mountains and has a history going back over 1,500 years too. When you visit, you can see Kung Fu monks training and putting on jaw-dropping martial arts performances. The buildings are beautiful and surrounded by lush green forests. I went there on a school trip and it was the coolest! As for natural scenery, the Luoyang Xiangshan Park is an awesome place to experience the stunning mountains, valleys and rivers of my city. There are tranquil areas with pagodas and gardens, but also opportunities for hiking and rock climbing if you're feeling adventurous! One part of the park has these crazy thin bridges stretching high over the gorges that made me a little nervous but also thought were super fun. I love how the park combines pretty natural scenery with cool historical sites like ancient temples. Now let me tell you about Luoyang's delicious food! We are famous across China for our delicious "water banquet" cuisine. The dishes are so good because we use lots of fresh local ingredients and the flavors are never too strong or salty. My favorite Luoyang dish is definitelyfeng-zheng rou, which is crazy delicious braised pork belly. The meat is first simmered until it's melt-in-your-mouth tender, and then fried until the skin is nice and crispy. I could honestly eat a whole plate to myself even though my mom says that's not very polite!Another Luoyang specialty I love are the jiu-niang lao tang bao dumplings. These are warm, soft and filled with a sweet fermented rice soup that is out of this world tasty. You use a straw to suck out the soup first and then eat the dough part after.I always beg my grandma to make them for me. She makes the best ones!We also have some unique Luoyang snack foods that are perfect for walking around and snacking. One is the sesame cake called shui mo bing. It's a flat bread with a crispy bottom and soft, chewy texture on top coated with a sweet sesame seed paste. So yummy! Another legendary Luoyang snack is the lao po bing which is a layered crispy cracker made from flour, brown sugar and peanuts. They look a bit like woven mats and have the most incredible sweet and savory taste.Phew, I could honestly go on forever about Luoyang's amazing food! I hope I've made you hungry just reading about it. Our city's snacks and dishes are a huge point of local pride for us.In conclusion, if you ever get a chance to visit Luoyang, you absolutely have to experience the incredible ancient sites like the Longmen Grottoes and Shaolin Monastery. The natural scenery at Xiangshan Park is breathtaking too. But maybe most importantly, you have to stuff yourself with as much Luoyang cuisine as possible! Between the feng-zheng rou, jiu-niang tang bao, shui mo bing, lao po bing and more, you'll be in food heaven. Just make sure to wear your stretchy pants!I'm so lucky I get to grow up in a city with such an amazing culture, history, scenery and food. Thanks for letting me tell you all about my beloved hometown of Luoyang. I hope you can come visit someday! Zai jian (goodbye)!篇4My Awesome Trip to Luoyang!Last summer, my family and I went on a really cool trip to Luoyang, which is an ancient city in the central part of China. Luoyang is famous for its incredible history and amazing sights. I had such an awesome time there! Our first stop was the amazing Longmen Grottoes. These are thousands of Buddhist cave carvings carved into the rocky mountains along the Yi River. The carvings date all the way back to the Northern Wei Dynasty in the 5th century! We saw massive Buddha statues towering dozens of meters high, as well as smaller carvings of Buddhist figures, pagodas, and floral designs. It was mind-blowing to see such intricate and beautiful artwork carved into solid rock over 1,500 years ago! I felt like a tiny ant exploring a gigantic, ancient world.Next up was the incredible Shaolin Temple, which is the birthplace of Shaolin Kung Fu. The temple buildings weregorgeous, with curved yellow roofs and red pillars. We even got to watch some Shaolin monk perform amazing martial arts demonstrations with lightning fast kicks and punches. One monk could catch rained from the air using just a tiny cup! The monks had unbelievable skills and discipline. I tried learning a few moves myself and it was super hard. I have a new respect for how talented those Kung Fu masters are!My favorite part was exploring the Luoyang Ancient Tombs Museum. This place had excavated underground tombs from various dynasties over 3,000 years ago! Inside were the incredibly well-preserved remains of emperors, nobles, and even horses and chariots, all buried with mind-blowing treasures made of jade, gold, bronze, and precious stones. I saw things like elaborate headpieces, weapons, pottery, and even murals painted directly onto the tomb walls depicting scenes of palaces and hunts. It was like traveling through a time machine to see how ancient Chinese royalty actually lived and was buried. So cool!Of course, I couldn't leave Luoyang without trying out its most famous snack - the delicious Luoyang Watercress Bunsmade! These little buns stuffed with fresh watercress and savory pork were out-of-this-world delicious. They had the mostamazing aroma and flavor. I probably ate about a dozen of them because they were just that good! Luoyang is also known for its special Persimmon Cakes, which are made from dried persimmon fruit. These little hockey puck-shaped treats were super chewy and sweet. I bought a big box of them to bring back home.I had such an incredible time in Luoyang learning about its rich culture and seeing its world-famous historic sites up close. From the breathtaking Buddhist grottoes to the fascinating ancient tombs, every day was filled with new experiences. I'll never forget getting to witness the amazing Shaolin Kung Fu masters in action and devouring all those yummy local snacks. Luoyang is one of the coolest, most historic cities I've ever visited.I can't wait to go back again someday!篇5Here's an essay introducing the sights and attractions of Luoyang, written in simple English from the perspective of an elementary school student (around 2000 words):My Awesome Trip to LuoyangLast summer, my family and I went on a super cool trip to the city of Luoyang. It's an ancient place with lots of amazing thingsto see and do. I had a blast exploring all the historical sites and trying the yummy local food!Luoyang is known as one of the Four Great Ancient Capital Cities of China. It served as the capital for thirteen different dynasties over a span of almost 2,000 years! Can you believe how old it is? The city is filled with incredible ancient buildings, temples, and tombs from those long-ago times. One of the coolest places we visited was the Longmen Grottoes. It's this huge area with thousands of Buddhist statues carved into the sides of a river valley. The biggest statue is a giant Buddha figure that's 17 meters (55 feet) tall! My mind was blown by how detailed and perfect the carvings looked, even though they were made way back in the 5th century. It must have taken the sculptors forever to make them all by hand.My favorite part was probably the Fengxian Temple area where there are hundreds of small grottoes lined up along the cliffs. Each little cave had its own miniature carved Buddhas, deities, and scenes from Buddhist stories inside. I felt like I was wandering through an entire city of tiny temples built into the rock! So awesome.Another highlight was the Shaolin Temple, which is the birthplace of Shaolin Kung Fu. We attended a performance bythe monks and they did all kinds of crazy martial arts moves - backflips, weapon demonstrations, breaking bricks with their heads. It was equal parts incredible and hilarious watching some of the younger monks trying to act all serious and fierce. I got to meet one of the masters after the show and he let me hold an authentic Shaolin staff. It was super heavy!Of course, no trip to Luoyang would be complete without checking out the ancient city walls and gates. Parts of the old fortifications are over 2,500 years old! We walked along the top of the restored wall section and pretended to be brave defenders watching for enemy attacks. The most famous gate is called Daxing Gate and it has this awesome stone sculpture of a roaring dragon keeping guard overhead. I loved learning about how the gates were built to allow armies and supply caravans to pass through safely. When we weren't busy exploring historic sites, we stuffed our faces with as much delicious Luoyang food as humanly possible. My dad went totally crazy for the Luoyang watercress, which is this special kind of crunchy veggie they grow locally. We had it stir-fried, boiled in soups, baked into breads - you name it! His favorite was the watercress dumplings. As for me, I couldn't get enough of Luoyang's tasty persimmon treats. Persimmons are this yummy bright orange fruit, and they make all sorts of candies, cakes, and snacks out of them there. The persimmon candy was my number one pick - soft and chewy with a tiny crunch from the seeds. Heavenly! I also loved the persimmon ice cream and milkshakes we had on hot days.Overall, my trip to Luoyang was an absolute blast from start to finish. I gave my brain a workout learning about all the amazing history and my belly a workout eating all the scrumptious local cuisine! If you ever get the chance to visit this incredible ancient capital, you've gotta take it. There's just nowhere else on Earth quite like Luoyang.篇6My City - LuoyangHi everyone! 以我的家乡是洛阳为题的英文作文简单点的

以我的家乡是洛阳为题的英文作文简单点的全文共5篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Hometown is LuoyangHi everyone! My name is Xiaoming and I am 10 years old. I live in a very old and famous city called Luoyang. Luoyang is in the middle part of China in a province called Henan. It has been an important city for a really, really long time!Luoyang has such an interesting history. A long time ago, even before the days of the big Chinese emperors, Luoyang was the capital of nine different dynasties! Can you imagine that? Nine kingdoms all ruled China from Luoyang at different times over the centuries. The first was the Eastern Han Dynasty way back in 25 AD. The last was the Later Liang Dynasty in 923 AD. For almost 900 years, Luoyang was one of the most powerful cities in all of China!Because Luoyang was the capital for so long, it has a ton of cultural relics and historic sites all over the place. One of the most amazing ones is the Longmen Grottoes. The Longmen Grottoes are these incredible ancient Buddhist cave carvingsbuilt into the cliffs along the Yi River over 1,500 years ago. There are tens of thousands of different statues and carvings of Buddhas, bodhisattvas, and other figures from Buddhist stories and myths. My favorite one is the gigantic 17 meter tall Buddha carved right into the rocky cliffside. Just thinking about people from so long ago spending decades carefully carving those huge sculptures into solid rock is mind-blowing!Another famous spot in Luoyang is the Shaolin Temple. The Shaolin Temple is known as the birthplace of Zen Buddhism and also as the legendary home of Shaolin kung fu! According to tradition, the very first Buddhist monk from India named Batuo came to Luoyang to spread Buddhism in China and founded the Shaolin Temple around 495 AD. Centuries later in the 500s, another Indian monk named Bodhidharma arrived and taught special meditation exercises that eventually became Shaolin kung fu. The monks used these martial arts to stay fit and protect the monastery. Isn't that so cool? Shaolin kung fu movies are my favorite! Maybe if I train really hard I can become a Shaolin warrior monk when I grow up.Luoyang also has the remains of some amazing ancient tombs and palaces from the different dynasties that ruled here. The fanciest one is probably the Shaoguan Tomb, which wasbuilt for the first emperor of the Northern Qi dynasty around 550 AD. It has these long underground passages filled with incredible stone carvings of horses, warriors, government officials, and even a miniature palace all buried with the emperor so he could have them in the afterlife. Another super old place is Wangcheng Park, which used to be the imperial palace for seven different dynasties over almost 800 years from 25 AD to 827 AD! You can still see some leftover parts of the old city walls, gates, and palace buildings while walking around the park.Besides all the historic stuff, Luoyang is also known for tasty foods like the unique "water banquet" dishes, yummy persimmons, grapes, and the famous Luoyang watermills that use giant wooden waterwheels to grind grains into flour. I especially love eating the fresh-baked sesame bread that's made using flour from the watermills. It's so delicious!Luoyang is such an incredible place with an amazingly long history going back thousands of years. I feel really lucky to be able to grow up in a city with this much rich culture and heritage all around me. I hope you enjoyed learning a bit about my awesome hometown! Let me know if you ever want to come visit Luoyang - I'll be your tour guide and show you around all the coolest sites. Thanks for reading!篇2My Hometown is LuoyangHi, my name is Xiaoming and I'm going to tell you about my hometown Luoyang! Luoyang is a very old and famous city in the middle of China. It has been around for over 3,700 years! Can you believe that? Luoyang is so old that it used to be the capital city for 13 different dynasties in ancient China. That means for over 1,500 years, it was the most important city in the whole country!Luoyang is located in Henan Province, right in the center of China. The geography around Luoyang is very pretty. There are mountains, rivers, lakes, and fields all around the city. My favorite place is Longmen Grottoes. It is an amazing series of caves and carved statues of Buddhist figures cut right into the side of a mountain! There are over 100,000 Buddhist images and inscriptions carved into the caves. Some of the tallest Buddha statues are over 17 meters (55 feet) high! Just imagining people carving those huge Buddhas into solid rock over 1,500 years ago blows my mind. The Longmen Grottoes show how skilled the ancient people of Luoyang were at art and sculpting.Another cool historical place in Luoyang is the Shaolin Temple. The Shaolin Temple was built in 495 AD, which is over 1,500 years ago! It is the birth place of Shaolin Kung Fu. The Shaolin monks invented kung fu as a way to train their minds and bodies. Kung fu movies with Shaolin monks doing incredible martial arts are super popular. Maybe you've seen some before? Every year, they have a festival at the Shaolin Temple where the monks show off their amazing kung fu skills. I really want to go watch them perform one day.The White Horse Temple is another iconic site in Luoyang. This is the first Buddhist temple ever built in China! It was established in the year 68 AD. Inside, there are beautiful gardens with ancient cypress trees and pagodas. My class went on a field trip there last year. We got to ring the huge temple bells for good luck! The bell they have there is one of the oldest and biggest in all of China.Since Luoyang was such an important capital city for so long, it has a ton of old cultural relics and ruins of palaces, tombs, and cities from past dynasties. My favorite is the underground museum at the ruins of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty capital. They have uncovered foundations of cities, houses, tombs, and artifacts that are over 2,500 years old! It's so incredible to walkaround the site and see how people lived back then. The coolest thing is probably the ancient bronzeware like sculptures and cooking vessels they have on display.Luoyang is also well-known for its fantastic local cuisine. Two of the most popular dishes are Luoyang waterfowl and Persimmon cake. The waterfowl is a specialty where they take a whole chicken or goose, stuff it with all sorts of delicious ingredients like shrimps, chestnuts, bamboo shoots, and mushrooms, and then roast it until the skin is super crispy. Every bite is full of amazing flavors! Persimmon cakes are a traditional snack made with sweet persimmon puree mixed into a chewy cake batter. They aren't too sweet, and taste phenomenal with a cup of hot tea.Even though Luoyang has such a rich history, it is also a very modern city today. It has great schools, parks, stores, entertainment and lots of fun things for kids. One of my favorite hangout spots is Century Park in the heart of downtown. It has beautiful gardens, a huge lake for paddle boating, carnival rides and games, and an awesome waterpark in the summer. I love going there with my family to spend the day outside, especially during festivals and holidays when they have performances and fireworks shows.Luoyang is also famous across China for its incredible Peony flowers. Every April, the city holds a huge Peony Festival to celebrate the blooming of the gorgeous peony gardens. People travel from all over the country to see the vibrant red, pink, yellow and white peonies that smell so lovely. The festival has parades, cultural performances, flower exhibits, and tons of fun activities and games. I always look forward to attending with my parents when the peonies are in full bloom.I feel so lucky to be from a city with such a deep heritage and thrilling history like Luoyang. From the ancient Buddhist temples and sculptures, to the well-preserved ruins of palaces and relics, and the continued traditions of delicious cuisine and annual festivals, there is so much for me to explore and be proud of. Luoyang may be an old city, but it will always hold a special place in my heart. I hope you can come visit my hometown one day and experience its wonders for yourself! Let me know if you have any other questions about the amazing city of Luoyang.篇3My Hometown is LuoyangMy hometown is a very old city called Luoyang. It is in the middle part of China in a province called Henan. Luoyang has a very long history going back over 3,500 years!Luoyang used to be one of the four ancient capital cities of China a long, long time ago. Many emperors lived and ruled China from Luoyang hundreds and hundreds of years ago. Because of this, my hometown has lots of old buildings, temples, tombs, and culture from those ancient times still preserved today. The most famous historic site in Luoyang is the Longmen Grottoes. This is a huge area with thousands of ancient Buddhist stone carvings and statues built into the side of a mountain and river valley over 1,500 years ago. The biggest statue is a seated Buddha figure that is 17 meters tall! My family took me to see the Longmen Grottoes and I was amazed by how detailed and beautiful all the carvings are after so many centuries.Another well-known place in Luoyang is the Shaolin Temple. This is one of the most famous Buddhist temples and monasteries in all of China. The Shaolin monks created Shaolin kung fu martial arts here over 1,500 years ago. At the temple, you can watch the kung fu monks perform incredible physicalskills and stunts. They move with such grace and power. I hope to learn some kung fu when I am older!Near the Shaolin Temple is the Pagoda Forest, which has over 300 different ancient pagodas all in one area. A pagoda is a tall, thin tower made of brick or stone. The pagodas in the forest were built as religious tombs and memorials between 500-1,500 years ago during several different dynasties of China's history. It is amazing to see so many pagodas of different shapes, sizes, and designs standing together. My dad told me it looks like a pagoda city! While very old, Luoyang also has some newer attractions too. The Luoyang Museum just opened a few years ago and is one of the biggest and best museums in China now. It has incredible exhibits displaying archeological finds and ancient treasures from Luoyang's long history as a capital city. I went there on a school field trip and my favorite items were the jade burial suits sewn together with gold thread that noblemen were buried in over 2,000 years ago during the Western Han Dynasty. My favorite part about living in Luoyang is the delicious local food! Luoyang is well-known across China for its tasty wheat noodles, dumplings, and breads. The noodles in Luoyang are chewy yet crispy and can be served stir-fried, in soup, or even ontheir own. The most popular way to eat them is in a beef or lamb soup. The dumplings in Luoyang are unique because they are very long and rolled up, instead of the typical round shape. For snacks, there are many tasty breads like sweet persimmon bread, green onion pancakes, and crispy shallot pastries.Luoyang gets pretty hot in the summer, but has a comfortable spring, fall, and winter. Every year in the spring, there are beautiful fields of colorful flowers that bloom all around Luoyang. My mom likes to take me to see the amazing peony gardens and pick fresh strawberries and cherries. In the cooler months, we go hiking in the beautiful green mountains surrounding the city and hunt for red autumn leaves.Even though Luoyang is an ancient city, it is not stuck in the past. It has all the modern shopping malls, restaurants, parks, and entertainment that any big city has today. However, the rich history and culture still make Luoyang a very special place. I am proud to be from such an important cradle of Chinese civilization with over 3,500 years of stories to tell! Luoyang will always be my beloved hometown.篇4My Hometown is LuoyangMy name is Xiaoming and I am 9 years old. I live in the city of Luoyang in Henan Province, China. Luoyang is a very old and famous city with a long history. It is called one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China.Luoyang has been around for over 3,500 years! Can you believe that? It is one of the cradles of Chinese civilization. Many important events and people come from Luoyang's past.A really long time ago, Luoyang was the capital of nine different dynasties over many centuries. The first was the Eastern Han Dynasty from 25-223 AD. During this time, the Longmen Grottoes were first carved into the rocky mountains. They are filled with thousands of beautiful Buddha statues and carvings from that era.The Longmen Grottoes are one of the most famous tourist attractions in Luoyang today. Millions of people visit every year to see the ancient Buddhist art and architecture carved right into the rocky cliffs along the Yi River. My favourite is the huge 17 meter tall Buddha sculpture. It is so tall and detailed - the artists who made it were very skilled!Another fascinating historical site is the Shaolin Temple on the outskirts of Luoyang. It is the birthplace of Shaolin Kung Fu and Zen Buddhism. The first monks began practicing martial artshere over 1,500 years ago to keep themselves fit and healthy. Nowadays, the Shaolin monks are famous worldwide for their incredible kung fu skills and performances. I have seen them do demonstrations of balancing, tumbling, weapon displays and more - it's like magic!Other key moments in Luoyang's past include the invention of paper during the Eastern Han era, as well as the writing of the first biography of Confucius by students who studied his teachings in Luoyang. Confucianism started spreading across China from here.As you can tell, my city has an extremely deep history going back thousands of years. But it's not just about the past - Luoyang is also a modern, thriving city today.Downtown Luoyang has lots of tall skyscrapers, bright neon signs, shopping malls, restaurants and public parks. One of my favourite places is Wending Park near the city centre. It has pretty gardens with colorful flowers, green trees, and even a small amusement park inside! I love going there with my parents to ride the roller coaster and eat cotton candy.Luoyang is also famous篇5My Hometown is LuoyangHi! My name is Xiaoming and I'm 10 years old. I live in a very old and famous city called Luoyang. Luoyang is in the middle of China in an area called Henan Province. It has been an important city for a really, really long time!Luoyang has such an interesting history. A long time ago, even before there were cars or planes, Luoyang was the capital city of many dynasties and kingdoms in ancient China. Dynasties like the Eastern Han, Northern Wei, and Tang dynasties all made Luoyang their capital at different times over 1,500 years ago! Can you imagine how old that is? Older than your grandparents and great-grandparents combined!Because of its long history, Luoyang has so many amazing historical sites to see. One of my favorites is the Longmen Grottoes. The Longmen Grottoes are thousands of beautiful Buddha statues carved right into the sides of a mountain! Some are tiny while others are huge, taller than a house. The grottoes have caves, temples, pagodas, and inscriptions too. It's an incredible sight and you could spend all day exploring. My class went on a field trip there last year and I was totally in awe.Another cool place is the Shaolin Temple. This famous Buddhist temple is the birthplace of Shaolin Kung Fu! Monkshave trained martial arts there for centuries. You can watch incredible kung fu performances with monks doing flips, using staffs and swords, and even breaking bricks with their bare hands. The Shaolin Temple also has beautiful grounds with ancient trees and stone carvings. I tried learning a few kung fu moves but I wasn't very good at it!One of the best things about Luoyang is all the delicious food. Luoyang is known for different types of noodles and dumplings that have been made the same way for hundreds of years. My favorite is yi'mian, which are chewy noodles in a savory broth with beef or lamb. The noodles are stretched by hand and cooked in big pots right on the street. My parents sometimes take me to the Muslim Quarter which has the best yi'mian shops. There are also lots of fresh breads, pancakes, and dumplings sold by street vendors.Something else that makes Luoyang unique is its special park called the Peony Festival Gardens. Every spring, thousands of colorful peonies bloom there. There are all different shades of red, pink, yellow, and white peonies planted in pretty designs. During the Peony Festival in April and May, people come from all over to see the stunning blossoms. There are also art shows, food stalls, and performances in the gardens during the festival time. The air is filled with the sweet floral scent - it's intoxicating! One downside of Luoyang is that it can get unbearably hot in the summer. The temperatures regularly reach over 100°F! Luckily, most homes and buildings have air conditioning to stay cool. On sizzling summer days, my friends and I enjoy slurping down icy bowls of sui'lian milky, a popular local sweet soup with sticky rice balls, fruit, and coconut milk. It's so refreshing!Luoyang is also a very modern city in many ways. We have brand new shopping malls, public transit, and sports facilities. There are even some futuristic looking buildings like museums and libraries downtown. But no matter how new parts of the city get, Luoyang's ancient heritage is always present. All in all, I feel so lucky to be growing up in such an amazing, historic, and cultured city like Luoyang. We locals call it one of the "Four Great Ancient Capitals of China." With its incredible food, architecture, arts, and deep-rooted traditions, I'm proud to call this city my hometown.
