第五讲运用论据证明论点第一节如何运用论据选择恰当的论据来证明论点，有两个难点需要突破：1．难以选择真实的论据，影响证明的可信度。
如有的同学一用论据，就自己编造，不是小明怎样，就是小刚如何，方便顺手，可是不难看出，小明小刚都是假造的人物，他们的事迹也就靠不住了。
要突破这个难点，可运用从课文采珠的办法，即在课本中寻求论据，包括语文、政治、历史等各种课本，甚至理科课本，其中的论据都是真实的，人们用来也都熟悉，可信度就会大大增强。
2．难以选用新鲜的论据，影响证明的说服力。
如有的同学一用论据，不是张海迪就是雷锋，不是鲁迅就是华罗庚，他们的事迹虽然也都是真实的，也很典型，但他们的事迹距离今天至少有十多年了，你用他用我用，未免显得有些陈旧，更不能把他们当做万能论据。
要突破这一难点，可采取两种办法：一是用新近发生的人和事为例，这就要留心近期的报刊和影视，吸取其中的有效信息，为我所用；二是即使想用一些陈旧的人和事，也要更新角度，或选用那些名人鲜为人知的事迹来做证，同样可以产生避陈就新的效果，例如华罗庚习惯方面的事迹，鲁迅与人友谊方面的例子，就比较新颖了。
