要自如地运用一种外语,首先应该掌握所学语言的语音、词法和句法,而这些只有通过大量语言实践才能学到。
在基础英语教学的特定阶段,在严格控制的情景之中,运用各种方法对学生集中地、系统地进行口语句型训练,可以帮助学生迅速掌握和熟练运用这些基本句型,有助于新的语言习惯的形成和听说能力的提高。
在多年的外语教学,尤其是在听说教学实践中,笔者深深地体会到,在听、说、读、写这四项基本技能中,很多外语学习者都抱怨听说能力提高的速度慢或者说难以提高。
那么,听说能力是不是确实难以提高? 而在学习的过程中又该如何应对并注意什么问题呢? 下面笔者就此问题谈谈自己的看法。
一、扎实的大好学生的语言基础语音基础知识的掌握,是影响英语学习者提高听说能力的重要因素。
在基础阶段,学生在语音方面应有扎实的基本功。
语音是否正确,语调是否达意,都直接影响到人们能否得体地进行交际。
英语中的48个音素起着区别词义的作用,因此一定要发音正确,不能有一丝一毫的马虎,否则就会失之毫厘,差之千里。

正确认识英语听说能力
摘要：语言是人类交流思想、进行交际的工具。
要自如地运用一种外语,首先应该掌握所学语言的语音、词法和句法,而这些只有通过大量语言实践才能学到。
在基础英语教学的特定阶段,在严格控制的情景之中,运用各种方法对学生集中地、系统地进行口语句型训练,
可以帮助学生迅速掌握和熟练运用这些基本句型,有助于新的语言习惯的形成和听说能力的提高。
在多年的外语教学,尤其是在听说教学实践中,笔者深深地体会到,在听、说、读、写这四项基本技能中,很多外语学习者都抱怨听说能力提高的速度慢或者说难以提高。
那么,听说能力是不是确实难以提高? 而在学习的过程中又该如何应对并注意什么问题呢? 下面笔者就此问题谈谈自己的看法。
一、扎实的大好学生的语言基础
语音基础知识的掌握,是影响英语学习者提高听说能力的重要因素。
在基础阶段,学生在语音方面应有扎实的基本功。
语音是否正确,语调是否达意,都直接影响到人们能否得体地进行交际。
英语中的48个音素起着区别词义的作用,因此一定要发音正确,不能有一丝一毫的马虎,否则就会失之毫厘,差之千里。
如在一次寒暄中,一位女生对Michael说,她非常喜欢他的两个孩子。
由于她发音不准,本想说“ Ilike your kids verymuch”,但听起来却是“ I like your kiss verymuch”,而当Michael上前kiss时,却遭拒绝..[ 1 ]掌握地道的英语语音语调是十分困难的。
学生在缺乏英语环境的情况下,应该大量地听录音,对英语有较多的感性知识,这是英语语音学习的前提。
同时,必须掌握节奏、停顿及三个最常用的语调等。
在教学中,围绕听说训练,针对学习过程中出现的问题,如音素不准、节奏感不强、停顿错误及语调不地道等问题,
应在不同阶段有所侧重地逐个进行单项训练,并在语流中进行操练,以养成正确的习惯。
二、把握好听说课的具体教学步骤
1. 学生细听教师朗读教材或听录音
学生要仔细听,听时不看书面材料,凭自己的能力听懂或基本听懂材料的内容,也可以视情况作些简要记录。
这不但有助于提高听力,亦促使学生注意语音、语调细节,利于模仿。
2. 教师讲解教材中的知识点以及有关知识
教师的讲解主要包括三个方面:语言难点、社会语言现象以及风俗习惯的不同和文化知识等。
3. 学生跟着教师逐句朗读
朗读时,要求学生特别注意语调、重读,因为这方面的差异,往往表示不同的意思、感情。
正确的节奏、正常的速度是良好和流利口语的重要标志之一,在学生跟读时,教师要严格要求。
4. 检查学生背诵情况
可先让学生背诵整个会话,然后分成几个小组,每人担任对话中的一个角色或几个角色,进行背诵。
背诵时,需要求学生语音、语调、速度节奏都正确和自然,要带着感情“进入角色”。
三、正确处理好几种关系
1.“传授”与“引导”的关系
“师者,传道授业解惑也。
”首先,教师要“教”,要传授知识。
听说课要求教师传授的知识点是很多的。
在语言上,有生词和难懂的句子;有些语句的确切含义需要加以解释;还有语音、语调方面需要说明的现象,等等。
这些是教师在课堂上要处理的基本问题,但不能到此为止,还应讲解相关知识,主要讲解东西方风土人情和文化差异。
这方面的知识是不可忽视的,否则会出笑话或发生误会。
比如,若按中国人打招呼的习惯问英美人:“Have you had yourmeal?”所引起的反应往往和我们是不同的。
他们会误认为你准备请他们吃饭,而我们却只是一句简单的相互问候的礼貌用语。
其二,对Congratulations! 这样的祝贺,最常用的回答是Thank you.
如果按照我国习惯表示谦虚说“No”或“Not at all”之类的话,会给英国人以虚伪、不诚实感。
可见,这方面的知识也不可轻视。
传授只是课堂教学的一个方面,另一方面是引导学生进行练习。
培养学生正确而流利地说英语是以实际应用为目的,不仅仅是为增加一点知识,更不是为了欣赏。
因此,教师的讲解和所传授的知识,都应有助于达到这个目的;学生则要把所获知识融汇在自己的口语训练中。
要做到这点,教师要在兼顾传授和引导的同时,把大部分的时间放在启发引导学生和组织他们
练习上。
2.“教师讲”与“学生练”的关系
在听说课中,只有正确处理好教师讲和学生练的时间安排,才能真正达到提高口语的能力。
英语听说课提倡的不是教师“大讲”,而是学生“多练”。
MichaelWest曾谈到I. P. T.T. 即“individual pup il talking time”的迫切性。
当然,这样做并不是否认教师的主导作用,而是要教师的主导作用体现在引导和组织学生上,让学生多讲多练。
换言之,在听说课上,“导演”的重任在教师身上,“主角”和“演员”则要由学生来担任。
正如一位教学法专家Morckridge Fong所说:“ It seemsobvious that as students p roficiency increases, the teacher shoulddo far less of the talking. ”[ 2 ]诚然,这样做的目的是转化传统的教学角色,使教师和学生都转变自己的
角色,明确各自的任务:使教师的主要作用体现在引导和组织学生,让学生多讲多练;使学生从传统教学中的被动地位和从属地位中解脱出来,培养学生的参与意识和竞争能力。
3. 掌握句型与听说结合的关系
听与说两者紧密相关。
教学最初阶段就强调听不仅是为了让学生模仿语音、语调、节奏,也是为了加强学生的听力训练,逐步地培养他们的快速反应能力,以达“一箭双雕”的效果。
首先,对口语句型要高度熟练,说一句话要能做到脱口而出。
只有这样,才能把已学会的词汇迅速地、自动化地组织成有完整意思的句子来表达各种思想。
有些人能在短短的几个月里学好。
