how to become a good scretary

《how to become a good secretary》Job Success Step One. First, if you haven抰already done so, make a thorough examination of yourself as to whether you really do want to become a secretary. Do you know what becoming a secretary entails? Spend a few days, or longer, doing this self examination. Just make sure that becoming a secretary is really what you want to do. The following may sound clich?to you, but it is very true: so many people just rush into a job because they do not know of what else is out there. So do take a little time out of your busy schedule to reflect if this is what you would like to do for the rest of your life. There is nothing wrong about being a secretary. You may really like it. Just make sure that your temperament and personality fit this type of job and that you know what a typical day of being a secretary is like.Different people are suited to different jobs. You will excel and be happier in a job that suits you more than in one that is molded onto you by society. All jobs are worthy because everyone can make a difference to society in any job. We need cashiers, people dumping garbage, taxi drivers, computer programmers, etc. In choosing your favorite occupation and excelling in it, you will make your stamp in this world most pronounced.Job Success Step Two. Complete high school. Even if you don't think you will need good marks to become a secretary, it never hurts to have good marks when you pursue further education afterwards. Try to make use of the time you have in high school to enjoy classes, and try to find something interesting about the subjects that you learn. It's really probably your last opportunity to be exposed to such a wide spectrum of knowledge. Take advantage of it while you can. Don't rush through school. Sure, it may be boring and dry sometimes, but just try to make it as interesting for yourself as you can. You may even learn something useful down the road someday!Job Success Step Three. Depending on where you live, you will need to undergo further post-secondary education. Likely, there will only be a certain number of schools that offer programs where you can study to become a secretary. Try to find all the schools that you think you might have an interest in and thoroughly read through their curriculum, admission policies, and the success rates of their graduates obtaining good positions. Prepare as early as possible for admission. You do not want to miss deadlines, or not do something that could easily have been done.Job Success Step Four. Obtain some job experience or do some job shadowing with secretaries. This will allow you to find out what being a secretary is like. Maybe you reallyhate it. Maybe you love it. It's a great opportunity to broaden your horizons even if you decide not to become a secretary in the future. Getting job or volunteer experience will also look very favorable to future employers, as they will know that you were capable enough that someone trusted you with their work. It will also allow you to get reference letters if you need any. Last, but not least, you will gain practical experience and contacts as a secretary that may help you in your future job.Job Success Step Five. Keep an eye on various places where there may be job postings right from day one that you decide you want to become a secretary. Even if you are not yet qualified for the job, job postings give you a very good idea about what type of skills employers are looking for. You may want to hone those skills or learn them during the next several years. Of course, with technology changing so rapidly, those same skills could become obsolete, so try to pick skills that you think will be around for a while and will be useful in the future in a broad range of situations.Job Success Step Six. Decide if you want to specialize in the future. If you do, then you should try to go to a post-secondary institution that specializes in your particular specialty. It will make you a more attractive and competitive candidate when it comes time to look for a job. Be careful about specializing too early, though, or even specializing at all, as that specialty may become obsolete or not in as much demand when you are ready to go into the workforce. However, specializing definitely has its advantages, as you will be the recognized expert in your specialty. You may even be paid more, which is why many people specialize. So do consider it to be a viable option.Job Success Step Seven. Choose your employer carefully. If you do not think that you would fit in a particular company, you probably should not even apply there. Of course, you should try not to be picky, but do try to make an effort to think a little about what type of company and work environment you desire. You don't want to be finding another job in two months.Job Success Step Eight. Once you have a job as a secretary, try to distinguish yourself a little every day. The objective is not to get a promotion or a pay raise, although that would be a nice bonus, but just as a duty to yourself. A pledge to yourself to try to make your job a little bit better for other people. The extra effort will make yourself feel pleased, as well as really do a service to others. Also consider upgrading your skills once in a while by taking courses or learning by yourself. Try not to over-exert yourself, though, when working or when spending extra time to learn skills. But do put in a good day's work. Work in a relaxed manner. Work at a comfortable pace, but just do not slack at your duty. Afterall, it's your profession!Wish you every success with your job as a secretary!Step1 At first, lets make it clear –what do you want to get from your job? Is it just a temporary work, you do it in order just to earn some money and then you are done with it? Or is it a starting position in your career, you fully understand it so take it seriously? I am going to talk about the second option when your attitude to secretarial work is serious and you do it with responsibility.Step2 So that is it, your first day work day has come, you are in panic, don‘t know how to start, what to do and how to deal with endless stream of new information? Concentrate and be calm –that is the best way to act in stress situations and first thing you better remember from the beginning. You need to understand that it won‘t be like that forever, it is happening because of lack of experience and knowledge, once you get to the point of how it all works, you will feel like fish in the sea.In this position you must be very attentive, be stickler for details otherwise you may get into trouble. Therefore what i suggest is to get a notebook or writing pad. I underline it, you need a book not sticker notes which you stick wherever it is possible, and as a result you lose information. Important here is size, don‘t get too big, in the opposite it will be more convenient with small one, the size of organizer or address book. There you write a plan of the things you have to do tomorrow - yes, tomorrow, because you just wont have time to make it on the same day, therefore i strongly recommend you to do it the day before with a clear head.Step4 Be reasonable and try to distinguish the importance and urgency of your tasks. Start your day with dealing with the matters which have some deadlines and were asked to be done by your boss. After everything is successfully done, you can get down to less important things.Step5 Don‘t be afraid to ask questions if you don‘t understand or confused about something especially if you are a novice in the company. There is nothing wrong in it, in the opposite it will show you from the better side – you display interest and desire to learn, that is always a good quality. But do it in a relaxed and friendly way, the main rule here is to be polite with your colleagues, always express your gratitude.Step6 If you are a secretary for the whole office and being showered with all kind of tasks, don‘t despair – there is a way out from this situation as well – when someone gives you work and you are being busy with other things, take it but don‘t be shy to say that you are now doing something else given to you by (say who) and after you finish you will start working on it, unless, of course, it does not requite immediate actions.Ads by GooglePowerful AffirmationsCreate Powerful Affirmations That Really Work!Law Firm Jobs in AsiaSpecializing in Asia Legal Markets Contact Us for Our Guide!Show Secretary SoftwareRobust multi-breed horse show software. In this era of information overload, accurate and efficient communication has become especially important. I firmly believe that good communication can build bridges between people, playing an indispensable role in academia, career, and daily life. Therefore, I decided to invest my knowledge and skills into creating valuable documents to help people find inspiration and direction when needed. 1My Dream Career as a SecretaryEver since I was a little kid, I've known exactly what I wanted to be when I grew up - a secretary! I know it might sound like an unusual dream for a child, but I've always been really organizedand loved helping people. Being a secretary seems like the perfect way to combine those skills and interests into an awesome career.I still remember playing "office" when I was in elementary school. I would set up my little plastic desk and chairs, get out my notebooks and pencils, and then make my stuffed animals line up to be my "employees." I would give them memos andto-do lists, schedule their meetings, and generally just boss them around in the most efficient way possible. My poor teddy bear didn't get nearly as many tea party invitations as meeting agenda printouts! As I got older, that childhood fantasy turned into a real plan.I started looking into what skills and education I would need to become a secretary. It seemed like a challenging but rewarding path - you have to be a master multi-tasker, amazing with technology, and have incredible people skills. Those are all things I excel at, so I was really excited about the prospect. In high school, I took business classes and worked as an office assistant to start getting experience. I loved being the one to keep everything running smoothly and efficiently. There's such a satisfying feeling in checking things off your to-do list and knowing you helped a team accomplish their goals for the day. Imay have drove my teachers a little crazy with my intense color-coded filing systems, but hey, at least their desks were always neat! Now that I'm in college studying business administration, my dream career is finally starting to become a reality. I've been interning at a few different companies to get a feel for what kind of environment I want to work in after graduation. So far, my favorite has definitely been the busy marketing firm I interned at last summer. The pace was fast, the clients were demanding, but I thrived on the adrenaline rush of keeping everything on track. Scheduling maze of meetings, juggling constant deadlines, managing overwhelming amounts of communication and information - that's my happy place!I know being a secretary isn't considered one of the most glamorous careers out there. It's not going to make me rich or famous. But you know what? I don't care about that stuff. To me, there's nothing better than being the key team member that keeps an whole office functioning like a well-oiled machine. Getting to use my crazy organization skills and attention to detail to support bosses and colleagues as they work on amazing projects? Sign me up!My dream is to get hired at a top company right after college and then work my way up to being an executive assistant. Those are the kings and queens of the secretary world - handling everything from scheduling international travel to managing multi-million dollar budgets. With my drive and skills, I know I can keep climbing the ranks at whatever company I'm at. Maybe I'll even get an office with a view one day instead of being stuck in the room with the copy machine! No matter where I end up though, I'll be living out my childhood dream of being the most kick-ass secretary around. You can keep your actor or doctor or astronaut fantasies - I just want to be the gal making sure the trains run on time. Juggling a million tasks at once, putting out fires left and right, making managers look good with my flawless behind-the-scenes work? That's the stuff my dreams are made of.There's such a valuable role that great administrative professionals play in any successful organization. We're the ones who turn chaos into order, obstacles into openings, and problems into solutions before anyone even realizes there was an issue in the first place. With our skills and commitment, we empower leaders and teams to focus on the big picture goals while we sweat the small stuff. Not enough people appreciatewhat us secretaries do, but that's ok - I know what an impact I can have.So yeah, I may have had an unconventional childhood dream career. But you know what? To me, being a secretary is my calling and I can't wait to land my dream job after graduation. Let the other kids fantasize about being doctors or singers or whatever. My sights are set on that corner office...even if I don't get a door to go with it. Just give me a killer view, a cracking organizational system, and let me work my magic making everything run like clockwork. Then I'll be living the dream for real!篇2My Dream Career as a SecretaryEver since I was a little girl, I've had a passion for organization and helping others. That's why I've always dreamed of becoming a secretary - it's the perfect career to combine those two interests. Being a secretary is so much more than just answering phones and filing paperwork. It's about being the backbone of an office, keeping everything running smoothly and ensuring the team can focus on their core responsibilities. As a child, I loved playing "office" and pretending to be the person in charge of keeping everything in order. I wouldmeticulously organize my stuffed animals by size and color, create elaborate filing systems for my coloring books and crayons, and take scrupulous notes during imaginary meetings with my dolls. My parents thought it was adorable how I got such joy from tidying and planning. Little did they know, it was foreshadowing my true calling in life!I've always been a planner and a helper by nature. In school, I was that student who color-coded her binders, had a detailed schedule for homework time, and loved being a classroom helper for the teachers. Keeping myself and others organized brings me a sense of satisfaction and calm. When things are in order, I feel centered and in control. Chaos causes me anxiety - which is why I know I'm meant to be the one preventing it!One of the main reasons I'm drawn to a secretarial career is the incredible importance of the role. Secretaries are critical to the success of any organization. They make sure managers and executives can stay focused on high-level tasks by handling all the essential administrative duties. Without skilled secretaries, everything would fall apart. Missed deadlines, lost documents, scheduling conflicts, miscommunications - it would be a nightmare! As a secretary, I would be the problem-solverpreventing those disasters and keeping the well-oiled machine running.I envision myself as that trusted "right-hand" to a busy leader. My desk would be a command center, with all the information and tools at my fingertips to support my boss and the whole team. I would be the gatekeeper, prioritizing what needs their attention while deflecting distractions and unnecessary interruptions. My computer would contain detailed color-coded schedules and calendars, allowing me to get them to meetings and appointments on time, every time. My meticulous file management system would ensure they could instantly locate any document they needed. With my exceptional organization skills, I would make sure vital deadlines are never missed and all engagements are efficiently prepared for in advance. My strong written and verbal communication abilities would allow me to draft correspondence, memos, and reports with perfect polish. My calm demeanor would provide a reassuring presence, able to calmly juggle multiple requests and put out any fires that arise. I would be the key that unlocks effortless productivity for my team. Not only am I drawn to the crucial supporting role, but I'm also attracted to the other key responsibilities a secretary holds. Iwould love to be the "director of first impressions" by operating the front desk and greeting visitors. My upbeat personality and professional demeanor would make guests feel welcomed and put them at ease right away. I'm also excited by the prospect of making travel arrangements and planning events. My passion for logistics and eye for detail would allow me to execute flawless trips and gatherings, down to the tiniest particulars. To me, being a secretary is so much more than checking boxes on a list of duties. It's a noble calling that upholds the integrity of the workplace and elevates the team's capabilities. A truly great secretary doesn't just assist - they become a force multiplier by maximizing everyone's efficiency and effectiveness. They use their wide range of skills to allow others to laser focus on their own responsibilities without distraction. An office simply cannot function at its full potential without the steady hand of a talented secretary steering the ship.I recognize that the role takes much more than just striving to be organized. It requires phenomenal multi-tasking abilities to juggle all the moving parts. It takes outstanding interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of an organization with poise and discretion. It demands exceptional technical and computer skills to seamlessly navigate various software and systems. But I knowI have the drive and aptitude to develop the mastery of all these required competencies. Most importantly, being a successful secretary requires a service-oriented mindset and tireless work ethic. You must have a deep desire to make others' lives easier and be willing to go above and beyond to support the team, no matter how menial or arduous the task. I am ready and eager to take on this selfless role of being a "servant leader." Making a positive impact and contributing to the greater good of the organization will bring me profound fulfillment. Some people may underestimate the secretarial role or view it as menial. But I recognize the incredible importance and level of talent it demands. An effective secretary is the linchpin of productivity, the catalyst allowing the whole operation to run optimally. It's such a noble purpose that I find inspiring and energizing. This is truly my dream career - the culmination of my passion for helping others, my innate drive for meticulous organization, and my commitment to excellence in any endeavor I pursue. With my winning combination of skills and attitude, I know I have the perfect disposition to become a rockstar secretary. I can't wait to establish myself in this crucial role and cement myreputation as a talented professional who uplifts the entire team through unflappable poise, seamless orchestration of all operations, and unparalleled dedication to achieving success. Landing my dream secretarial job will be just the first step - after that, the opportunities to advance my expertise and potential impact will be endless. This may be just the start of an extraordinary career journey that I've been destined for my whole life.篇3My Ideal Career as a SecretaryEver since I was a little girl, I've been fascinated by the idea of being a secretary. It always seemed like such a glamorous and important job to me. The way secretaries carried themselves with poise and professionalism, juggling a million tasks at once while looking perfectly put together – it was like they had superpowers!I used to dream of the day when I could be that capable, that indispensable to someone important. As I got older and started learning more about what the role of a secretary actually entails, my childish fantasies gave way to a deeper appreciation for the skills and qualities required. A great secretary needs to be highly organized, an excellent multi-tasker,a strong communicator, technologically savvy, and utterly reliable. They are the pillar that allows the person or company they support to function smoothly and efficiently. The organizational aspect is key – Secretaries have to be masters at keeping calendars, schedules, files, and documents in perfect order. They need systems and methods for tracking all the moving pieces of their principal's professional and personal lives. This kind of operational precision is what allows their superiors to focus on higher-level tasks without getting bogged down in administrative details.Fantastic communication abilities are non-negotiable for a top-notch secretary. They must be able to correspond clearly and professionally in writing, whether drafting emails, memos, or reports. Their speaking skills have to be impeccable for responsibilities like screening calls, greeting visitors, and relaying information verbally. A secretary with poor communication skills is like a broken telephone – messages will get muddled and important things will slip through the cracks. In today's digital age, being tech-savvy is also hugely important. Secretaries have to be experts at using various computer programs, databases, scheduling apps, and virtual communication tools to efficiently manage the flow ofinformation and tasks. An outdated secretary who is still living in the age of paper files and typewriters simply won't be able to keep up in the modern workplace.Perhaps most crucially, a secretary absolutely must be the embodiment of reliability and trustworthiness. Their principal has to be able to count on them 100% to safeguard sensitive information, represent them impeccably at all times, and always have their back. A secretary who is forgetful, indiscreet, or undependable can do serious damage to their employer's reputation and credibility. The role demands someone of utmost integrity and loyalty. My ideal career as a secretary means being that person – the consummate professional who operates as the polished,hyper-competent "machine" behind the scenes, ensuring my principal can shine front and center. I aspire to be the one who dots every i and crosses every t, the gatekeeper who protects their time and privacy, the whirlwind of quiet efficiency making everything run like clockwork.Just imagining being that invaluable to someone important gives me such a sense of purpose and motivation. The profound trust and responsibility involved is both humbling andenergizing. I want to be a secretary because I want to be that indispensable force supporting greatness and success.I know it will take an incredible amount of hard work, discipline, and ongoing education to truly master all the required skills. But that challenge is incredibly appealing to me. I am a perfectionist by nature and thrive on self-improvement. The idea of constantly honing my technical, interpersonal, and organizational abilities to become a world-class secretary is so exciting!I can picture myself years from now, sleekly dressed in sharp business attire, running point with grace and confidence. My luxury accessories and grooming won't be just for show, but outward markers of my importance as a top-tier secretary putting forth a flawless professional image. My calendar will be a kaleidoscope of high-stakes appointments and pressing deadlines, but I'll be unflappable while juggling it all seamlessly.Perhaps most importantly, I aspire to develop a special relationship of mutual trust and respect with my principal. My loyalty will be utterly unwavering, and in return, I hope to be seen as a true partner – the polished professional and discreet confidante behind the curtain. My ultimate dream is to become that irreplaceable "force of nature" secretary who uses theirsuperpowers for good, in service of someone out there changing the world.。
