Part1 Health and sport
Sport plays a huge role in our everyday life. Whether it’s physically, mentally or spiritually, sport has a big impact on anyone’s life, especially, to the average sport fan.As we discussed in class, I’ve gone through the Role Transitional Model. Primary Socialization is when I started to play sports at a very young age. In organized leagues I’ve skated, played soccer, played basketball and played baseball. Re-socialization, I was able to transfer my skills in the sports above to each other. Desocialization, unfortunately, happened a few times where I was out on the sidelines with usually an ankle sprain or wrist sprain. Fortunately, I never had a very serious injury and have to go through adverse socialization.

Nutritional deficiency could be the result of special diets, which exclude some food or overindulge in others. Over-indulgence in one kind of food could cause nutritional deficiency/imbalance. Our body needs all kinds of nutrients; certain nutrients are need to maintain proper ratios with other nutrients. For example, we must maintain the proper ratio of potassium and sodium in our body; taking in sodium salt without a sufficient amount of potassium can cause health problems, and taking no sodium can also cause problem, as we recently learned.

A positive approach to a balanced lifestyle promotes ‘wellbeing’ and prevents illhealth in the longer term. A good life requires balance and moderation in all aspects for the ultimate achievement of optimum health. It is a combination of physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual endeavours in order to achieve our goal.A healthy balanced mind generally has a positive attitude to lifestyle and takes responsibility for the standard of nutritional input, physical activity, rest, relaxation and general health care.
Personally, sport has a great impact on my own life and I owe many thanks to sports. Ever since I was little, I was always involved in some sport or another. The people I’ve met through sports have led me to new experiences, new lifestyles and new opportunities. Today, I still keep in touch with many of my former teammates.
