教材分析
本单元是四川教育出版社出版的《新路径英语》第六册（三年级起）的Lesson 9 A Birthday Party.本课教学的主要内容包含五个动作短语light the candles, sing a song, say a wish, blow out the candles, go home以及形容词late ,early和句型“Let’s ...”。
本单元教学内容贴近学生生活，此外，单词与动作结合，容易激发学生的兴趣。
本课时为第一课时，虽属于单词教学，但在教学中将单词内容融入到画中，通过学生看和做动作学生易理解单词。
学情分析经过三年的英语学习，五年级的孩子有一定的英语基础，但由于诸多因素影响，学生对英语知识的掌握程度存在一定程度的分化。
对于进入小学中级阶段学习英语的孩子来说，第一，要对英语继续保持持续的兴趣，第二，活动应体现任务驱动，让孩子乐于参与教学活动，活动设计应有思维参与，学会用英语简单谈论生活相关话题。
在教学中，教师努力通过情感态度、良好行为习惯的培养、给予孩子充分的肯定、让孩子获得成功的体验等教学途径激发孩子的持续的学习兴趣。
在教学活动中设定任务，利用插图创设情景，让学生在有意义的语境中理解、学习语言知识，组织学生活动，结合学生真实生活创设情景，让学生通过使用正在学习的语言来完成贴近生活的任务，从而培养学以致用的意识和初步运用英语进行交际的能力。
