多的动物，那就是鲸。
鲸的嘴巴很大，就算两个人叠在一起，也摸不到它的上颚。就算四五个人围坐在它嘴里
看书，也显得特别宽敞。
鲸的鳍又大又宽，又扁又平，得宜于这样的鳍，鲸得以在海洋里畅游。
鲸的颜色一般是淡蓝色的，也有白色的，人们称“大白鲸”，还有黑白相间的，像一只老
虎，人们称“虎鲸”。
鲸的名字里虽然带有个“鱼”字，但它并不是鱼类，它们其实是哺乳动物。鲸的祖先和牛
羊一样生活在浅海陆地区，经过漫长的地质变化，海水涨上来，鲸的腿就慢慢地蜕变为尾鳍，
从此，鲸便生活在海洋里了。尽管鲸的身体有长短粗细的差别，但一律呈流线型，样子都像
鱼，所以后来被人们称它为“鲸鱼”。
鲸分为两大类，齿鲸和须鲸。齿鲸以大鱼海兽为食。它们遇到大鱼和海兽，就会凶猛地
扑上去，用锋利的牙齿咬住并吃掉。有一种号称“海中之虎”的虎鲸，有时好几十头结成一群，
围住一头三十多吨重的长须鲸，几个小时就能把它吃光了。
须鲸主要吃小鱼小虾。它们在海洋里游的时候，张着大嘴，把许多小鱼小虾连同海水一
齐吸进嘴里，然后闭上嘴，把海水从须板中间滤出来，把小鱼小虾吞进肚子，一顿就可以吃
上两千多公斤。
鲸的种类不一样，喷出的水柱也不一样。须鲸的水柱又高又直，有的高达十余米，像花
园里的喷泉，十分壮观。而齿鲸的水柱又斜又矮。有经验的渔民，一眼就可以分辨出鲸的种
类和大小。
鲸睡觉时，总是几头聚在一起，找一个比较安全的地方，头朝里，尾朝外，围成一团，
只要听到什么声响，立即四散游开。
尽管鲸的种类和特点各异，但鲸类都是一个大家族，它们共同在海洋里不断繁衍生息！
