I'm super excited to share with you all about my reading journey in English. It's been such an awesome adventure exploring new worlds and ideas through books. Let me tell you all about it!When I was in elementary school, reading in English felt like this huge mountain I had to climb. All those unfamiliar words and grammar rules made my head spin. But my amazing English teachers encouraged me to keep trying, reminding me that the more I read, the easier it would become. Bit by bit, I started enjoying English books more and more.One day, my teacher introduced us to the Harry Potter series, and oh my gosh, it blew my mind! I was hooked from the very first page. A magical world of wizards, spells, and talking paintings? Sign me up! I would race home from school every day, devour chapters like they were chocolate frogs, and discuss wild fan theories with my friends. That series taught me that reading in English could transport me to incredible places.As I got older, I discovered other book genres that fascinated me. I tried out science fiction like "Ender's Game" and loved imagining futuristic worlds and space adventures. Historical fiction novels like "The Book Thief" made me appreciate different time periods and perspectives. Classics like "To Kill a Mockingbird" and "The Catcher in the Rye" explored deep themes that really made me think.Of course, reading so much didn't just entertain me - it also helped boost my English skills like crazy! My vocabulary rapidlyexpanded, and complicated grammar structures started making more sense. I went from struggling through simple stories to understanding complex novels with ease. Reading became this awesome cycle where the more I read, the better I got at English, which made me want to read even more advanced books!Now that I'm heading to middle school, I'm stoked to keep growing my English through reading. My biggest goal is to read at least 20 novels this year across different genres - fantasy, contemporary fiction, mysteries, you name it! I've already got my eye on some sci-fi books about colonizing Mars that sound epic.I also want to start reading some young adult novels that deal with real-life issues my friends and I are facing, like navigating friendships, figuring out who you are, and dealing with family problems. Books with characters I can relate to could give me a fresh perspective and make me feel less alone sometimes.Of course, I know reading tons of books will benefit my academics too. Reading improved my writing skills so much in elementary school by exposing me to a wider range of vocabulary, sentence structures, and rhetorical devices. I bet if I read even more advanced novels, my English essays and creativewriting will level up like crazy! I'm hoping to enter some writing competitions this year with the skills I've developed.I might even try my hand at starting an English book club at school. How cool would it be to gather a group of friends who all love reading, and we could discuss our favorite stories, swap book recommendations, and maybe even put on fun skits or activities based on the books? Reading is so much more fun when you have buddies to share the adventure with.Honestly, I'm just so grateful my teachers and parents encouraged me to stick with reading in English, even when it felt impossible at first. I'm in 5th grade and I absolutely LOVE reading! Reading is my favorite thing to do, especially reading books in English. I know it might sound weird for a kid like me to be so into English reading, but I honestly can't get enough of it. Let me tell you all about my English reading journey so far and the huge plans I have coming up!It all started when I was really little, maybe around 4 years old. My mom used to read me little picture books in English and I was just mesmerized by how different and musical the words sounded compared to Chinese. The rhymes and sing-song rhythms captured my imagination in a way I couldn't explain. From that point on, I was hooked!In kindergarten, I proudly showed off my English reading skills to my classmates by reciting simple stories from memory. While they just wanted to play house or cars during free time, I was busy devouring easy reader books like "The Cat in the Hat" and "Green Eggs and Ham." I loved how the pictures helped me visualize what was happening as I sounded out the words.As I got older and entered elementary school, my reading really took off. I cycled through the school's English reading section about a hundred times, working my way up from level tolevel. My parents were awesome and bought me tons of English books for my birthday and holidays every year. Soon my room was overflowing with books! Some of my favorites were the Magic Tree House series, Junie B. Jones, Cam Jansen, and anything by Roald Dahl. I got totally swept up in the amazing stories and adventures.Around 3rd grade, I moved on to classics like "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," "James and the Giant Peach," and "Matilda." I'll never forget crying when [SPOILER ALERT!] Matilda finally found a loving family after her horrible parents mistreated her. Books opened up whole new worlds for me that I could explore from the comfort of my bed or the reading nook I made under my desk. It was the ultimate escape and adventure!By 4th grade, I had read through pretty much all of the English youth fiction books in my school and local libraries. That's when I discovered online reading resources and apps that allowed me to access millions of English books from around the world with just a few taps! Mind = BLOWN. I've been hooked on devouring one novel after another on my tablet ever since.Some of the series I've devoured include Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Artemis Fowl, The Hunger Games, Divergent, The Maze Runner, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children...I could goon and on. Basically if it's an exciting fantasy, dystopian, adventure or mystery series in English, I've either read it already or it's on my to-read list. I have such a profound appreciation for the creativity of authors who can craft such rich plots and imaginary worlds.My parents have been so supportive and encouraging of my English reading obsession. They say it's not only growing my English vocabulary and comprehension skills, but also expanding my imagination, creativity and worldview in incredible ways. Sometimes I get so absorbed in a book that I lose track of time completely. My dad jokes that he has to perform a "literary intervention" to pull me out of whatever magical realm I've escaped to in the pages of a novel.While I absolutely cherish getting lost in amazing fantasy realms, I've also made an effort to balance out my reading with nonfiction too. I've read lots of biographies of inspiring people like J.K. Rowling, Malala Yousafzai, Jane Goodall, and Michelle Obama. I'm fascinated by the challenges they overcame and the courage and resilience they showed in the face of adversity. Reading about trailblazers like them motivates me to be bold, work hard, and never give up on my dreams.I've also tried to educate myself by reading books about science, world cultures, important historical events, and big questions about the universe and philosophy. Sometimes the concepts are pretty advanced for my age, but I always walk away having。

公兴初中英语阅读计划
一、指导思想：
为全面贯彻落实英语课程标准的精神，认真实施市，县有关加强中小学英语和英语课外阅读指导意见，有效组织和指导中学生进行英语课外阅读，扎实提高学生的英语语言能力和素养，提示学生的人文素质，促进学生全面，和谐，可持续发展，为终身学习和未来生活奠定厚实的基础。
二．具体目标：
1．激发学生广泛的阅读兴趣，使学生喜欢阅读，感受阅读的乐趣。
2．扩展学生的阅读面，增加阅读量，使学生多读书。
读好书，读整本书。
3．引导学生注意积累，注重阅读感受和体验，培养语感。
4．增加学生阅读理解和分析鉴赏能力。
三．基本要求：
1．精心选择课外阅读内容。
按照上级指定阅读书目和课外阅读书目
2．明确课外阅读的基本了量。
七年级全学年累计不少于8万词，八年级不少于12万词，九年级不少于16万词。
即七年级每周阅读量2000词以上，八年级3000词以上，九年级4000以上。
3．充分扩大课外阅读面。
4．切实提高课外阅读的质量。
对阅读内容做到：
1．能根据上下文和构词法推断理解生词的含义；
2．能理解段落中各句子之间的逻辑关系；
3．能找出文章的主题，理解故事的情节；
4．能读懂常见体裁的阅读材料；
5．能根据不同阅读目的运用简单的阅读策略获取信息；
6．能利用工具进行学习。
四．方法措施：
1．帮助学生掌握阅读技巧，如何进行阅读和导读，以高效的方法获取有效的关键信息。
2．帮助学生掌握预测信息，揣摩作者情感意图的方法。
3．帮助学生掌握阅读各类体裁的文章的技能。
4．安排专题阅读活动，每周安排1节课为阅读专项课，做到目标明确，任务具体，措施有效。
节假日再安排具体的阅读任务。
5．举办丰富多彩的英语阅读活动和竞赛。
