关键词:“When You are Old”解析比较一、“When You Are Old”创作背景威廉·巴特勒·叶芝(William Butler Yeats)是爱尔兰的伟大诗人,剧作家,1923年诺贝尔文学奖的获得者,“爱尔兰文艺复兴运动”的领袖,也是艾比剧院的创建者之一。
其作品历经晚期浪漫主义、唯美主义、象征主义、现代主义几个时期,虽作品风格在变化,但在每一个时期他的作品独具气质和魅力,每个时期的创作都取得巨大成就。
正如瑞典学院诺贝尔奖委员会主席佩尔·哈尔斯特龙在1923年给叶芝的授奖词中说:“……虽然叶芝熟读英国诗歌大师的作品,他的诗自有一种新的特点。

对于爱尔兰民族解放运动领袖莫德·冈(Maud Gonne)追求的漫长与痛苦成就了叶芝在诗歌领域的一部部佳作,犹如贝壳酝酿珍珠的痛苦,叶芝在求之不得,没有回应的情感带给他痛苦与折磨中,沉淀出了一首又一首闪光的诗篇。

叶芝的情诗《When you are old》在中国的译介与接受摘要翻译工作不是语言转换的技术性雕虫小技，尤其在现在这样一个网络时代，研究者对所研究的翻译文本应该有所选择。
威廉·巴特勒·叶芝是爱尔兰诗人，剧作家，散文家，也是爱尔兰文艺复兴的领导人。
叶芝及其文学作品早在20世纪早期就被介绍进入我国，但对叶芝及其作品在中国的译介开展的一波三折，到目前为止对叶芝的研究仍不是特别深入。
所以本文通过叶芝的经典情诗《when you are old》的四种翻译版本的分析，来简略透析叶芝在中国的译介与接受。
关键词叶芝《when you are old》译介一、叶芝在中国的译介简介威廉·巴特勒·叶芝（william butler yeats，1865-1939）。
在爱尔兰人民看来，叶芝是爱尔兰文学的代表和象征，是整个爱尔兰人民的骄傲，在文学领域有着举足轻重的作用和不可企及的地位。
不过，叶芝在最初连名字都没有统一的官方翻译版本。
在当时叶芝在中国被译作“夏脱”或“夏芝”。
1919年，沈雁冰在《学生》杂志第6卷第7-12号上连载的《近代戏剧家传》对“夏脱”有简略的介绍。
这是最早在中国出现的关于叶芝的介绍。
次年，沈雁冰又在《东方杂志》第17卷第6号上发表了其翻译叶芝的剧本《沙漏》（the hour-glass，1903）。
随后（an 王统照又于1921年1月和9月分别翻译并发表了叶芝的《忍心》ending heart）和《尘土已闭了亥林的眼》（dust hath closed helen’s eye）。
随后一直到共和国建立，都是叶芝作品的翻译全盛时期和对叶芝本人介绍的兴盛时期，期间对叶芝的自主研究几乎没有。
但值得一提的是，1946年，袁可嘉的大学论文《论叶芝的诗》是第一篇中国大学生用英文撰写的关于叶芝的论文。
①在共和国建立后的三十年里，由于政治形势和当时的意识形态的原因，对叶芝的翻译和研究几近属于停滞阶段。
