一些简单但却十分常用的英语俚语

1. buff

大家在说自己喜爱钟情某事物时，常常说‘I’m a big fun of…’; 这里的fun就可用buff来替换。例如：

I’m a movie buff, I go to the cinema whenever the new films release.

我是个电影迷，每当新影片上映时我就会去电影院观看。

2. freak out

这个短语可以代替be so surprised 表示吃惊，惊讶。例如：

I totally freaked out when she told me the truth

当她告诉我真相时我很吃惊。

3. pricey

形容某物很昂贵;代替expensive。例如：

The birthday gift that she bought for me was really pricey.

她送我的生日礼物十分昂贵。

4. be a drag

形容某物枯燥乏味，大家首先想到的总是boring，现在我们可以用be a drag 来代替boring，从而增加语言的多样性。例如：This book is really a drag and I don’t like to read it any more.

5. have a blast

表示玩的超级开心;可以不用再说enjoy或者have fun了。例如：We are having a blast on the party which is held in Mary’s house. 我们在玛丽家里举办的宴会上玩得十分开心。

6. weird

奇怪的，怪异的;可以用来代替strange。例如：

The whole thing seemed so weird to me.

7. let off steam

缓解压力;不用再重复使用release pressure了。例如：

I used to go swimming on weekend, so that I could let off steam.

8. can’t be beat

不能被比下去，实际就是the best的意思。例如：

The dishes served in this restaurant can’t be beat.

9. feel under the weather

身体不适;可以用来替换uncomfortable。例如：

When I feel under the weather, I prefer to go home earlier and have a rest.

10. lousy

不太好的，差劲的。可以用来替换最常用的bad。例如：

This store sells lousy stuff.

11. is over my head

不明白，不理解；可以用来替换‘is hard to understand’。例如：This science lecture is totally over my head.

我完全听不懂科学课。

12. drive me up the wall.

使人抓狂，是个绝佳的替换‘drive me crazy’的地道用法。例如：The noise really drives me up the wall.
