Text 1 (2020年全国统一高考英语试卷 新课标Ⅰ)
阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中,选出最佳选项。
Race walking shares many fitness benefits with running, research shows, while most likely contributing to
fewer injuries. It does, however, have its own problem.
Race walkers are conditioned athletes. The longest track and field event at the Summer Olympics is the
50-kilometer race walk, which is about five miles longer than the marathon. But the sport’s rules require that a race
walker’s knees stay straight through most of the leg swing and one foot remain in contact (接触) with the ground at all
times. It’s this strange form that makes race walking such an attractive activity, however, says Jaclyn Norberg, an
assistant professor of exercise science at Salem State University in Salem, Mass.
Like running, race walking is physically demanding, she says, According to most calculations, race walkers

1、 Good for your health? Socialising with your friends could bum more calories than running
on a treadmill (跑步机). Socialising keeps you slim.
Keeping a busy social life among lots of friends may keep people slimmer than spending hours
on a treadmill, according to scientists. They say that socialising and meeting with friends help
high levels of “brown fat” in the body bum calories to generate heat. Living in a stimulating social
environment was found to reduce abdominal fat in mice by half over four weeks, even if they ate
more.
U. S. researchers say that social stimulation aids weight loss by converting white fat into brown.
White stores calories andmakes us fatter, while brown bums energy to generate heat. Converting
white fat into brown is notoriously difficult, normally requiring long term exposure to cold

Passage A
(2019中考保健与健康类选练)
Almost every day, we discuss the topic of health, especially for kids. But what is health? “Health”
means eating well, getting enough exercise, and having a healthy weight. Let’s read the following
rules. They can help you stay healthy.
(1) Eat a variety of food, especially fruit and vegetables. We all know that eating fruit and
vegetables can help us stay healthy, but many of us only eat our favorite food. Remember that we

This is not a diet. Ifs a simple way to lose weight. And you don’t even have to give up the food you love or
join a gym. You just follow some habits that thin people have. Keep them, and you’ll become thin.
(1)Wake-up
When you wake up in the morning, sit up slowly without using your hands. With legs straight out, bend(弯曲)forward until you feel sore in your back. It will burn about 10 calories(热量单位:卡路里).
(2)Start with soup
When you have a meal, order a clear soup, and have it before having the main food. In this way, you’ll feel
fuller, so you’ll eat less when the main food comes.
(3)An apple(or more)a day
Apples are full of fiber(纤维)and water, so your stomach will want less. The study shows that people who
eat at least three apples a day lose weight.
2016年中考英语话题阅读理解专项练习-饮食与健康(含答案) 2
A
Healthy eating doesn't just mean what you eat, but how you eat. Here is some advice on healthy
eating.
Eat with others. It can help you to see others' healthy eating habits. If you usually eat with your
parents, you will find that the food you eat is more delicious.
Listen to your body. Ask yourself if you are really hungry. Have a glass of water to see if you are
thirsty—sometimes you are just thirsty, you need no food. Stop eating before you feel full.
Eat breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. After you don't eat for the past ten
hours, your body needs food to get you going. You will be smarter after eating breakfast.
Eat healthy snacks like fruits, yogurt or cheese. We all need snacks sometimes. In fact, it's a good
idea to eat two healthy snacks between your three meals This doesn't mean that you can eat a bag

(2024·山西晋中·一模)请阅读下面短文,根据语篇内容,从所给的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项,使短文意思通顺,并在答题卡上将该项涂黑。选项中有一项为多余项。
What is the secret to a healthy diet? Whether you’re already slim or trying to lose weight, one of the
best things you can do is reduce the size of your bowls and plates. A study has found that changing from a
twelve-inch to a ten-inch plate leads people to eat 22 percent fewer calories. In this way, you’d be reducing
more than 5,000 calories a month from your diet. 1
By devoting a few minutes to planning for healthy meals, you can improve your own health and that of
your family. Studies from UCLA suggest that a home-cooked dinner takes only about ten minutes longer to
prepare, on average, than serving processed or ready-made food. 2 And don’t forget: Obesity,
diabetes (糖尿病), and heart disease all lead to doctor and hospital visits, which take a lot of time.
