That's where the real action happens!School life was the topic of Unit 5. My favorite subjects are P.E. and Computer Science. I'm horrible at stuff like English and History though - I just can't pay attention during those classes no matter how hard I try! Lunchtime is definitely the highlight of theschool day for me. My friends and I joke around, discuss rumors about other kids, and maybe occasionally throw a french fry or two across the cafeteria. Don't tell anyone though! After school, we'll hang out at the nearby park or someone's house to play video games.Unit 6 covered shopping and money topics. I don't have a job yet, but I do get a decent weekly allowance from my parents if I do my chores and get good grades. I use that money to buy gaming accessories, soccer gear, or save up for the latest video game release. My parents will sometimes take me to the mall, but I prefer buying stuff online - it's just way more convenient. The last thing I want is to be dragged around the mall for hours while my mom tries on clothes.Moving on to Unit 7 which was all about food, restaurants, and healthy living. I'm definitely more of a junk food person - burgers, fries, pizza, you name it! My parents are constantly bugging me about eating too much fast food and trying to get me to eat more home-cooked meals instead. We talked about modes of transportation, popular destinations, and activities you can do when traveling. I'd love to go to Hawaii someday and try surfing. Several classmates shared about cool places they've already visited too.In Unit 8, we focused on clothing and describing what we like to wear for different situations. I prefer t-shirts, shorts and sneakers for casual days, but I have to dress up with a nice shirt and pants for certain events. We worked on using adjectives to describe styles and patterns.Finally, Unit 9 allowed us to explore different jobs and careers people can have when they grow up. From doctors to teachers to scientists to firefighters, there are so many possibilitie! I'm really interested in maybe becoming a video game designer. We did activities thinking about our strengths and interests that could guide our future professions.Phew, that's a lot we covered so far this year! I've really improved my vocabulary, grammar, speaking and writing abilities through all of the different topics.
