本单元以了解不同民族文化习俗与传统节日为主线，培养学生多元文化观，最终传递给学生了解中外文化，培养爱国精神，提高文化自觉与文化自信这一单元大观念。
本课是单元导入Topic Talk后的第一课，对本单元后续节日习俗学习做好语用铺垫，因此本课学习承上启下。
