一、教学目标：
1.语言知识目标：
能够听、说、认读本课的重点单词:was , then, grandparent,were, young,old, hair, so ,short,long.
2.语言技能目标：
能初步理解并使用was ,were来谈论过去的事情和情况。
能听懂、会读、理解课文大意。
3.情感态度目标：
能发现人物和事物过去与现在的变化，培养学生善于观察的能力,同时教育孩子们万物都是变化的，要好好的把握今天，珍惜时间。
二、教学重点和难点：
1.听、说、认读单词：was , then, grandparent,were, young,old, hair, so ,short,long.
2. 能听懂、会读、理解课文大意。
3.使用“was” “were”描述从过去到现在发生的变化。
4.then的发音。
三、教具准备：多媒体课件、单词卡、点读笔。
四、教学过程：
Step1。
展示图片，复习形容词。
通过chant ,激情热身：
Say the chant and do the actions.
Tall, tall，tall. I am tall.
Short, short ,short. You are short.
Fat, fat ,fat. He is fat.
Thin, thin ,thin. She is thin.
big, big,big. big.It’s big
small, small, small. They are small!
【设计意图】上课开始，通过让学生和老师一起一边夸张的做动作，一边说chant，复习了学过的形容词以及be 动词的用法，同时营造了一种欢快愉悦的课堂氛围。
Step2: Presentation
1）幻灯片展示教师自己的近照和小时候的照片。

升降调练习parent，唱反调和个人试操练grandparent 。
6）幻灯片展示教师爷爷奶奶的近照和他们的结婚照。

引出were ，并运用单词卡片，男女生，齐读操练。
利用卡片重点操练was ，were.
【设计意图】通过照片的对比及图片的操练，进一步让学生明确了过去到现在发生的变化，做到了学以致用又培养了学生善于观察的能力。
考虑到学情，我设计了用was, is和were, are进行看图填空，这样降低了学生表达的难度，尽量让每一个孩子都体会到成功的喜悦.

一．考一考，谁是火眼金睛。
Guess, Who is this? 出示班上几位同学的幼时照片，让同学们猜一猜，然后让那几位同学站到全班前，叫下面的同学来描述他们的过去和现在的变化。

教学反思：本节课利用照片教学，学生很感兴趣，师生互动效果较好。
绝大多数同学都积极参与学习。
课堂活动操练也较好。
小部分基础较差的学生在巩固训练部分做得不够好。
本节课评价机制还不够。
