语篇主要通过端午节中美两个家庭同一时段内不同的人物活动，帮助学生们了解中西方文化的差异，衬托主人公“每逢佳节倍思亲”的思乡情结。
本节课因为涉及到时差、寄宿家庭等学生们较陌生的概念。
为了帮助学生扫除理解上的障碍，所以设计本课时，对课本内容进行了整合，在时差方面进行了地理知识的渗透，在寄宿生方面进行了相关知识背景的链接。
本节课作为本单元的最后一课，重在突出学生对前面所学知识的综合运用，所以本节课的设计，整合了各种可用教材资源，从学生的听、说、读、写综合能力培养出发设计相应的教学任务，把综合运用所学，实践创新为落脚点。
二、学情分析作为七年级下学期学生的学生，他们在小学阶段已经接触过正在进行时态，所以他们对该时态已经有所了解，本节课又是本单元的最后一课时，所以学生在学习这节课时，时态基本已经不成问题。
本节课看起来文本较长，有些学生见到较长篇幅的语篇就发憷。
所以从学生已知出发，化难为易，设计由简到难的有梯度的任务，并为做好了充分的铺垫。
本节课主题是端午节，作为北方农村的孩子对该节日只有一个粗略的认识，没有很深的印象。
为了让学生能更深刻的感受主人公的思乡之情，本节课对端午节及时区的文化背景知识进行了充分的拓展，帮助学生消除了理解上的障碍。
