Movie Review of The Terminal
The Terminal is about a man who is easy going, brave, helpful and
determined to de what he wants to do. And the film teaches us how to
be optimistic when we are in trouble and how to survive in bad
condition without anyone’s help.
The film ells us story of man named Victor. He comes from a
European country to New York to fulfill his father’s wish. Owing to
the war in his motherland, he neither can step into the country nor go
back his home. So he is detained at the New York Airport. At the very
beginning of those days, he hasn’t any friends or money to eat. So he
finds way to make money and find some peaceful places to sleep, but
he is very optimistic when he meets troubles. What’s worse, he
doesn’t know much English at first. To solve this problem, he learns
some English words from news on a screen and magazines. Gradually,
he makes some friends who work in the airport and find a small
romance in such bad situation. At a time, he helped a Russian man
who bring a medicine to his dying father that he ignored the rules
America will not allow such medicine to pass. He tried to explain but
no knows Russian, so the boss asks Victor to come to their rescue as a
translator. At first, Victor tells the boss things really are, when he
realizes that his words hurt the Russian, he changed his answer. In
other words, he tells a white lie that the medicine is for Russian’s goat.
And, the Russian gets access to passing. After this happening, all staff
at the airport accept Victor as a hero and begins to hang his palm
print everywhere in shops as an example of humanity. So he gains a
great popularity there. Now, comes to the end of the movie, the war is
ended every staff is happy for victor. But an elderly man there named
Frank cruelly orders Victor to go back home, or 3 his friends will be
charged with doing wrong things. Without any hesitation, Victor
gives in. Gupta knows the truth, he stops the plane, and is caught.
Then, what makes Victor so popular? First of all, his courage to
fight against the boss shows humanity. Moreover, his care for others
also accounts for his popularity. Even we are in trouble, we shouldn’t
forget to help others.
