A (2018·福州高三适应性练习)No human has set foot on the Moon since 1972. Now,after more than four decades of inactivity, interest in putting humans back on the Moon is finally heating up again. But who will get there first? CHINA On 14 December 2013,China successfully landed its Jade Rabbit rover(探测车)on the Moon. It is now working on its next exploration mission. Named Chang’e 4,the mission is scheduled to touch down in the Aitken Basin near the end of 2018. If successful,it will be the first landing on the Moon’s far side. RUSSIA Russia plans a manned Moon landing in 2030. It is currently working on a project whose idea is that the landers will explore the south pole of the Moon, exploring for resources such as minerals and water ice to be used to provide for a human outpost(前哨站). INDIA Following the success of its Chandrayaan-1 in 2008,India announced a followon mission. Chandrayaan2 was meant to cooperate with Russia. But when the Russians failed to deliver the promised lander in 2013,India decided to go it alone. Chandrayaan2 is about to be sent up in 2018. U.S.A. In December 2018,NASA plans to send up the Exploration Mission 1,an uncrewed test of their Orion astronaut capsule in which the craft will circle around the Moon before returning to Earth. All being well,a crewed capsule will follow in 2023. Should the mission prove a success, the astronauts will be the first humans to see the far side of the Moon with their own eyes since Apollo 17 in 1972.

We only treasure things when they are gone. This is a sad truth of human nature. One day, I found myself as a witness to a similar situation. One evening, I left work and boarded the train. After entering, I noticed something unusual. The center of the car had a few empty seats while both ends were crowded with people standing. I didn’t pay much attention and sat down on one of the empty seats. I sensed a funny smell. It wasn’t long before I noticed a homeless person sleeping on three seats in front of me. He was bleeding from his nose. Why wasn’t anyone helping him? His clothes were torn and he was giving off a strange smell. Along with the smell, his eyes were dull, watery, and red. Occasionally he scratched himself and people looked at him as if he had committed a crime. As the train stopped at stations and more people came in they covered their noses and faced away from him. All the seats around him were empty. Suddenly, he began to swear at the people around him. A plainclothes police officer who looked like a construction worker took out his certificate and showed it to the homeless man. The officer, not wanting to touch the homeless man, told him his rights and directed him to exit the train. As the officer walked the man out of the train, the homeless man turned around and said 试题习题、尽在百度 仔细审题、认真作答 “MY HOME!” and started crying. A man doesn’t value things until they are gone. 阅读限时练Ⅰ阅读理解A(2018·惠州调研)When I was a boy we used to live across the roadfrom a big hill with huge oak trees growing out of it. When winter arrived, thick and heavy snow would fall, and my two brothers would grab theirsleds heading over to the hill for a day of fun. I remember watching themwith envy because I was still too small to go sledding. Finally, one winterI was considered big enough and joined my brothers as they carried their sleds up the long hill and prepared to ride down it.The first few trips I rode with one of my brothers had the time of my life.It was so exhilarating when the wind whipped across my face as I flew down the hillside on the wooden sled.Near the end of the day I was too overjoyed when my oldest brother decided to let me try riding the sled all by myself. I climbed on it full of excitement and lay on my stomach. Then with one big push my brother sent me down the snowy hillside.I was doing pretty well too until I hit an old stump hidden by the snow and went off course, straight towards one of those big oak trees. My heart pounded in my chest and I could hear myself screaming. At the last possible second I rolled off and the sled crashed into the tree.I could hear my brothers running down the hill yelling,“You have to steer(操控)! You have to steer!”Sadly, that wasn’t the last time I failed to steer when some obstacle knocked me off course in my life. Many times problems, troubles, and my own failures have sent me crashing into the trees of anger, frustration, and despair. I am still learning that life isn’t always safe sledding. I am still learning that it is up to me to steer myself back to love, back to kindness, back to goodness, and back to God.Life is a trip, but no one ever said it was a smooth ride.Steer well then.Steer straight.Steer your soul towards the light and the love that are all meant for us.【解题导语】作者小时候有一次滑雪时差点撞到橡树上,但在最后一刻,作者翻滚到雪地里才得以化险为夷,同时他学到了一个人生道理:学会自我掌控.1、What do we know about the author when he was very young?A、He lived on a big hill with huge oak trees on it.B、He was frightened to go sledding with his brothers.C、He longed to go sledding with his brothers.D、He carried his brothers’sleds as they went sledding.C解析:细节理解题.根据第一段第三句“I remember watching them with envy because Iwas still too small to go sledding.” 2、Which of the following can replace the underlined word“exhilarating” in Paragraph 2?A、Delightful.B、Terrifying.C、Ordinary.D、Violent.A解析:词义猜测题.根据第二段第二句“It was so exhilarating when the wind whipped across my face as I flew down the hillside on the wooden sled.” 3、Why did the author fall off his sled?A、Because his sled crashed into an oak tree.B、Because he lost control of his sled.C、Because his brother pushed it so hard.D、Because the hillside was snowy.B解析:推理判断题.根据第二段中的“I was doing pretty well...one of those big oak trees.”可知,作者撞到了雪地里的一个树桩,然后径直撞向一棵大橡树,再结合该段中的“At the last possible second... the tree.” 4、What does the author mean to tell us?A、Losing control of a sled can be dangerous.B、Courage and determination can change one’s life.C、Life can be controlled by oneself.D、Life is a mystery full of coincidences.C解析:推理判断题.通过全文再结合文章最后一段的前两句“Life is a trip, but no one ever said it was a smooth ride. Steer well then.” Thescientist from a research institute of intelligent robots finds the experienceso boring that he’d rather drive—even though he lives close to his lab andknows that walking is healthy.“I enjoy walking with someone, like withmy wife, with my daughter,”Kanda said.“But they are not alwaysavailable.”So Kanda, who specializes in human-like bots, developed a roboticwalking partner that could make small talk based on its surroundings, which,he hopes, might motivate people to get out and exercise more. The bot rests on a person’s shoulder like a boxy parrot. It weighs about a pound and a half and sits roughly 8.5 inches high, and is 3.5 inches wide and 10 inches long.A microphone,a speaker, and an internal camera allow it to communicate. It’s even equipped with a smile.Kanda and his team collected video from five different locations, including a garden and a shopping mall, and created a dataset of small talk topics related to each location. Then they programmed the robot to associate visual cues with specific topics.A special speech software provided the robot with a voice.Near a group of parked cars, for example,it might say,“In a big parking lot, sometimes I forget where I parked.”They tested the robot on 15 volunteers,10 males and 5 females, who were paid and averaged about 26 years old.“Have you ever blown a puff of dandelion(蒲公英) seeds into the air?”The robot asked a participant, who smiled and responded,“Yes,I often did that when I was a child.”Although several participants noted the robot’s weight,Kanda was surprised that no one considered the experience strange or funny.“I guess people enjoy new technologies,”he said.Just like a human partner,Kanda’s bot isn’t perfect. It’s not able to go for walks in heavy rain and, while the robot can make expressions,it can’t really hold a conversation, about which Kanda is most worried.Despite its limits,Kanda was comforted by the bot’s presence.“I felt a kind of sense of being with someone,”he said,“particularly when it spoke.”【解题导语】本文主要介绍了新研发的陪人散步的机器人.5、Why does Kanda have the idea of developing a robotic walking partner?A、Because he wants someone to accompany him while walking.B、Because he has never developed a robot like a parrot.C、Because his family are unwilling to walk with him.D、Because he is crazy about developing robots.A解析:细节理解题.根据第一段的“‘I enjoy walking with someone, like with my wife, with my daughter,’Kanda said.‘But they are not always available.’” A.6、What characteristic does the robot have?A、It can “speak”and “see”、B、It can walk like a human being.C、It can communicate with people freely.D、It is much more humorous than a real person.A解析:推理判断题.根据第二段倒数第二句以及第三段的“Then they programmed...with a voice.” A.7、What is necessary for the robot to function?A、A small size.B、A boxy shape.C、A human partner.D、A speech software.D解析:细节理解题.根据第二段倒数第二句和第三段的“Then they programmed...A special speech software provided the robot with a voice.” D.8、What is Kanda most likely to do about his robot next?A、To make it more convenient to carry.B、To improve its conversational skills.C、To enable it to walk in heavy rain.D、To better its sound system.B解析:推理判断题.根据最后一段第二句的“it can’t really hold a conversation, about which Kanda is most worried”并结合全文的内容可推知,接下来Kanda将要改善的是机器人的交流技能,故选B.C(2018·福建泉州检测)We know a lot about the advantages anddisadvantages of reading a hard-copy book vs. reading electronically. Theproblem is, many of us refuse to listen.Don’t get me wrong: Digital reading has some real advantages. Ask people what they like most about reading on digital screens, and you hear over and over again about convenience. More points for digital reading:ebooks tend to be cheaper. There’s also the environmental argument. Think of the trees!Yet the soundness of this case is arguable. The earth metals to build ereaders are not just rare but highly poisonous. And think about all that energy needed to run servers and cooling fans. And remember, trees are a renewable resource. Then, there’s the appeal of a hard copy. Many people prefer print when reading both for pleasure and for school or work. Drawing examples from my own research, some of the reasons are aesthetic(美学的). Others involve a sense of accomplishment, ease of annotation(“I can write on the pages”), and navigation(“easy to locate where I was”). Meanwhile, I hear abundant complaints about eye strain(眼疲劳) and headaches when using screens.Much of what students liked about reading print involved their minds. They say “it’s easier to focus”. Some also acknowledged they took more time with printed text and read more carefully. But what makes the failure of electronic reading is concentration. More than 92% of those I surveyed said they concentrated best when reading a hard copy. Very seldom have I encountered a courteous human being in this modern era.Recently, I had to change my thinking, when I came face to face with just such a human being in a coffee place, with my two daughters. The place was crowded as usual and we had to climb steep(陡的) stairs in order to find an empty table. After enjoying coffee and snacks, we went down the narrow stairs, where there was hardly any space for another person to either climb up or come down.Just as I was in the middle of the stairs, a man entered the main entrance of the restaurant which was right in front of the staircase(楼梯). I was sure I would be pushed roughly by this man going up. I kept coming down as fast as I could. My daughters were already down, looking up at me worriedly, hoping I would reach them before the stranger started walking up the stairs, knowing I was a nervous sort.Nearly reaching them, I noticed the man still standing near the door. I reached my daughters and passed the stranger at the entrance door which he kept holding open. I looked back, thinkinghe was still at the door, deciding whether to go in or find another less crowded place. I saw him going up the stairs, two at a time. I told my daughters about it and all three of us felt bad that we did not even thank the courteous gentleman who was actually holding the door open for us ladies to pass through before going up.Such well mannered people are hard to find these days when pushing is very common in our advanced but aggressive society. The answer lies in the fact that the earliest traffic signals were designed for trains, not cars. They were red and green, gaspowered, and more than a little dangerous in the event of a leak.Red is an inherited(继承的) symbol from railroads, which symbolizes danger in many cultures. As red has a longer wavelength than any other color on the visible spectrum(光谱), it can be seen from a greater distance than other colors.Red has meant “stop”since long before cars existed, with train signals’ use of red dating back to the days when mechanical arms lifted and lowered to indicate whether the rail ahead was clear.Green’s wavelength is next to(and shorter than) yellow’s on the visible spectrum, meaning it’s still easier to see than any color other than red and yellow.Back in the early days of railway lights, green meant “caution”,while the “allclear”light was, well, clear or white. It is said that several disastrous collisions happened after an engineer mistook stars in the night for an all-clear.Thus, green became “go”,and for a long time, railways used only green and red to signal trains. From the earliest days of motoring up until the mid1900s,not all stop signs were red—many were yellow, because at night it was all but impossible to see a red stop sign in a poorly lit area.In 1915 the yellow stop-sign craze began in Detroit, a city that five years later installed its first electric traffic signal, which happened to include the very first yellow traffic light. But what of those mysterious yellow stop signs? As materials and technologies evolved, the ability to produce highly reflective signs meant that red could resume its natural spot in the sign hierarchy, leaving the stillhighlyvisible yellow to the domain(领域) of “caution”.That’s why school zones and buses, crosswalks, and other important warnings are yellow today.【解题导语】本文是一篇说明文. 8.What were traffic lights originally intended for?A.Trains.B.Cars.C.Planes.D.Ships.A解析:细节理解题.根据第一段中的“The answer lies in the fact that the earliest traffic signals were designed for trains, not cars.” A.9.What’s the main reason for red’s long being used to mean “stop”?A.It can be seen even in dark areas.B.It represents danger in many cultures.C.It has the longest wavelength.D.People prefer red to other colors.C解析:细节理解题.根据第二段中的“As red has a longer wavelength than any other color on the visible spectrum(光谱),it can be seen from a greater distance than other colors.” C.10.Which of the following may the author agree with?A.The meaning of red is culturespecific.B.Yellow functioned as stop signs in the 1900s.C.Green’s wavelength is just second to that of red.D.Green’s role in lights has changed over time.D解析:推理判断题. D.11.What does the passage mainly talk about?A.The significance of road traffic signs.B.The history of railroad transportation.C.The symbolic meaning of different colors.D.The origin and development of traffic lights.D解析:主旨大意题. 故D项最为全面地概括了文章的主要内容.D(2018·哈师大附中高三检测)Many animals recognize their food because they see it.So do humans. When you see an apple or a piece of chocolate, you know that these are things you caneat. You can also use other senses when you choose your food. You may like it because it smells good or because it tastes good. You may dislike some types of food because they do not look, smell or taste very nice.Different animals use different senses to find and choose their food.A few animals depend on only one of their senses, while most animals use more than one sense.Although there are many different types of food, some animals spend their lives eating only one type. The giant panda eats only one particular type of bamboo.Other animals eat only one type of food even when given the choice.A kind of white butterfly will stay on the leaves of a cabbage, even though there are plenty of other vegetables in the garden. However, most animals have a more varied diet. The bear eats fruits and fish. The fox eats small animals, birds and fruits. The diet of these animals will be different depending on the season.Humans have a very varied diet.We often eat food because we like it and not because it is good for us.In countries such as France and Britain, people eat foods with too much sugar. This makes them overweight, which is bad for their health.Eating too much red meat and animal products, such as butter, can also be bad for health.Choosing the right food, therefore, has become an area of study in modern life.【解题导语】本文介绍了动物和人利用感官识别食物以及对食物的选择.12.We can infer from the text that humans and animals________.A.depend on one sense in choosing foodB.are not satisfied with their foodC.choose food in similar waysD.eat entirely different foodC解析:细节理解题.根据第一段中的“Many animals recognize their food because they see it.So do humans.” 13.Which of the following eats only one type of food?A.The white butterfly.B.The small bird.C.The bear.D.The fox.A解析:细节理解题.根据第二段中的“A kind of white butterfly will stay on the leaves of a cabbage, even though there are plenty of other vegetables in the garden.” 故选A项.14.Certain animals change their choice of food when________.A.the season changesB.the food color changesC.they move to different placesD.they are attracted by different smellsA解析:细节理解题.根据第二段中的最后一句“The diet of these animals will be different depending on the season.” 故选A项.15.We can learn from the last paragraph that________.A.food is chosen for a good reasonB.French and British food is goodC.some people have few choices of foodD.some people care little about healthy dietD解析:推理判断题. 故选D项.Ⅱ七选五(2018·惠州高三第一次调研考试)My father used to be an amateur wrestler and national champion.
