平顶山历史悠久，文化底蕴深厚。
早在一万年以前的旧石器时代，这里就有古人类活动。
众多的裴李岗文化遗址表明，约在70XX年前，这一带就出现了较大的部落群。
卫东区蒲城店龙山文化古城遗址的发现，说明50XX年前我们的祖先就在此建立了城镇和村落。
由此可见，平顶山地区是中华民族最早开发的土地之一，也是中华民族的发祥地之一。
春秋时代，这里属应国管辖，应国以鹰为图腾，古典汉语“应”“鹰”通假，平顶山因此又称鹰城。

也是因煤而闻名!市区西边是一座姚梦电厂，它向大江南北，通过大动脉一样的线路把能源源源不断地发往各地。
虽然我们的生活环境因煤受到污染，空气质量也很差，但现在经过人们勤劳的双手和市领导的努力，把并不文明，并不优美的平顶山改造成和谐、文明、美丽之城。
街道两旁绿树成荫;商场里琳琅满目，鳞次栉比;广场上那绿茵茵、软绵绵的草地是为远客们铺的地毯。

家乡的平顶山是处自然景观，它位于河南省的平顶山市。
那里风景优美，而且它的最大特点就是山顶是平的。
20xx年5月18日我到平顶山去游玩，在爬山的路程中我看见了一些奇特的石头：有的石头像公鸡，有的石头像猴子，有的石头像乌龟，还有的石头像大象。
不知不觉我爬山上了山顶。
别人说平顶山的山顶是平的，今日一见，果然名不虚传。
放眼望去它完全就是一座宽阔平坦的公园。
哇！真美啊！我被这美妙的景观吸引住了。
这里有好玩的、好吃的。
我玩了迷宫，又去玩过山车，完全忘记这是在山顶，还以为是在游乐园呢！游玩过后，我躺在那像是被绿色的颜料染过似的“大毛毯”上，看着
那蓝蓝的天、白白的云，还有那远处若隐若现的一座座小山。
我恋恋不舍地下了山，时而回头看一看那令我难以忘记的高高的山顶。

在山水环绕的山城中，有一座著名的山——平顶山。
平顶山一年四季都很美。
春天，山上的积雪消失了，露出了嫩绿色的小草，冰冻的小溪融化了，小溪唱着欢快的歌向前奔跑。
山上光秃秃的树，树枝上露出了嫩黄色的小芽。
还有一些不知名的树，长出了花骨朵儿，看起来饱胀的马上要破裂似的。
小燕子从南方飞来，为春光增添了许多生机。
夏天，山上的树木葱葱茏茏，在阳关的照射下，使树木更加茂盛。
各种各样的花竞相开放，争奇斗艳，五彩缤纷，千姿百态。
红似火、粉如霜、白如雪、黄似金，都像赶集似的聚拢来。

秋天，树上的叶子变黄了，一片一片地落下来，一阵微风吹来，黄叶像一只只黄蝴蝶，翩翩起舞。
小蚂蚁找食时不小心掉在树叶上，便开始了免费的长途旅行。

但近年来，平顶山人用自己勤劳的双手和聪明的大脑使如今的平顶山有了翻天覆地的变化。
