Hello,everyone! Welcome to National 5A Tourist Scenic Area
and National Forest Park - Tianmen Mountain. Tianmen Mountain,
1518.6 meters above sea level, is the highest mountain in the
urban area of Zhangjiajie and also the cultural holy land of
Zhangjiajie. It is honored as “the First Holy Mountain in
Western Hunan”. Tianmen Mountain is divided into four scenic
spots, namely“Seeking Wonderland”, “Biye Yaotai”, “Tianjie
Buddha Country” and “The Opening of Tianmen Cave”.
Located in the west half ring of the traveling line on the
top of the mountain, Seeking Wonderland scenic area is mainly
featured by the spectacular sceneries of peaks and gullies. The
main landscapes include Guigu Plank Road, west line Glass Plank
Road, Guigu Cave, etc. Next, we are going to challenge the glass
plank road known as the "Oriental Sky Road". The plank road is
made of transparent glass, and the reflection of blue sky and
white clouds in sunny days covers the whole plank road, which
makes people enjoy the pleasure of walking on it when they are
afraid of the transparency under their feet. The glass plank
road is looming in the fog, and the beauty of the world is even
more amazing.
The Guigu Plank Road at your feet is famous for hanging on the Guigu Cave. The plank road is suspended on the cliff.
Visitors can not only experience the thrill of the
high-altitude plank road, but also can have a good view of
the
karst landscape.
There are many magical legends about Guigu Cave. Since 1991,
the warriors of Tianmen Mountain have made close contact with
Guigu Cave by hanging ropes from the top of cliff seven times.
In the process of exploring the cave, they encountered various
mysterious phenomena that are difficult to explain. Especially
for the fourth time, the warriors of exploring the cave
accidentally took a picture of an old man on the stone wall
inside the cave, It's the same as the world's widely spread head
of Guiguzi. Some people specially take photos here, but the
developed photos are blank. The only time that Guiguzi
developed is a magical natural phenomenon or an unexplained
coincidence, which has become one of the six mysteries of
Tianmen Mountain.
Biye Yaotai scenic area is located in the east half ring
of the walking tour line around the top of the mountain, which
runs through the core conservation area of Tianmen Mountain
natural ecology. It is dominated by natural and primitive
forest scenery. The main landscapes are North-south Overlooking Tianmen, Panlongya Glass Plank Road, Yuhu Peak,
Love of Wood and Stone, etc. Please come and have a look at this
leafy tree. The tree grows on the stone, and the stone embraces
the tree. It is like a couple of lovers who have been in love
with each other. This is called “Love between Wood and Stone”,
which symbolizes the unswerving love in the world. It's said
that a talented scholar lived in Tianmen Mountain before. He
was frustrated because he failed in civil service examination
many times. In order to encourage him to regain his confidence
and help him out of trouble,his virtuous wife bet with him that
if a tree grew on the stone in front of his home, he must take
the exam. In order to encourage her husband, his wife found some
seeds of beech tree and planted them on the stone. Every day
she picked up a spring to water the seeds. After several years
of wind and rain, perhaps the wife's piety and perseverance
moved the heaven, the tree and the stone actually grew together.
The scholar was so greatly encouraged that he happily promised
to go to the exam, and finally he was successful in
career. Due to the homophony between the stone and the exam,
the auspicious omen of wood and stone is also contained in the
unique edge. Every year, many parents bring their children to
pray for the coming exam, hoping to win the title. Tianjie Buddha Country landscape area is the south half
ring of the walking line around the top of the mountain. The
main landscape is Tianmen Mountain Temple. Tianmen Mountain
Temple, known as the Buddhist Center of Western Hunan, was built
in the Ming Dynasty. After the integration of Confucianism,
Taoism and Buddhism, it has been prosperous since its
establishment. Now the temple has been rebuilt at the original
site, covering more than 20,000 square meters. It is the highest
Buddhist building complex in Hunan Province at present. The
whole temple adopts the official style of ancient China and
consists of Grand Buddha’s Hall, Guanyin Pavilion and Sutra
