Campus Dining Club Announced
Starting this year, the university dining hall will be transformed into The Campus
Dining Club for one week at the end of each semester. During the last week of each
semester, the dining hall will feature special meals prepared by the university’s
culinary arts students. The school feels that this will give students who are studying
cooking and food preparation valuable experience that will help them later, when they
pursue careers. The university has announced that it will charge a small additional
fee for these dinners in order to pay for the special gourmet food ingredients that
will be required.

(man) Yeah, and it sounds like a great idea. It's really good for students in
that program.
(woman) Don't they cook in class anyway?

and she said that it's very different to cook for a lot of people in that kind of
atmosphere than to cook for classmates.
(woman) Why is that?
(man) Well, in class you can take your time, but, cooking for more people, there's
more pressure, I mean, you're in a rush, people are waiting and it might be easy to
make a mistake with all that stress.(woman) Then I'll think you are a bad chef, right?
(man) Absolutely!
(woman) So, OK, it's good practice. But what about the extra cost?
(man) Well, look at it this way. You've eaten at some of the fancier restaurants
in town, right? (woman) Yeah, there are some great places to eat around here.
(man) Well, these students, they’ll be making fantastic meals and it’s gonna
be cheaper than going out to one of those restaurants.
(woman) Much cheaper, actually.
(man) So, you know, it’ll be worth it. The meals will be as good as the ones
in those expensive restaurants.

the culinary art students would make fantastic meals which are gonna be cheaper, and

As part of the cost of student housing, students play to have phones in their
dormitory rooms. I think this is unnecessary, and the university should remove the
phones from student's rooms. Room phones are not needed since students all have phones
we can use to make calls instead. Removing the room phones would also have a cost
benefit for students, since we would save money if we didn't have to pay the cost
of phone service for the rooms.

Students who fly home for the winter and spring breaks need to get to and from
the airport, which is a half-hour drive from campus. I think the university should
run a free bus service for students between campus and the airport during the breaks.
This would help the students, since there is no public transportation between campus
and the airport. In order to provide service to the airport, some of the buses that
normally run between campus buildings when classes are in session could run between
the school and the airport during the school breaks.

Program to Provide Free Tutoring
The university has announced that starting with the fall semester, free tutoring
will be available to all new students for their entire first year. The academic dean,
James Maxwell, commented, “The university is aware of the academic problems that

The new tutoring program, he said, is designed to assist first-year students who want
or need additional support with their academic course work. The program will also
be organized so that individual students can arrange to work with tutors majoring
in their own chosen field of study.

口语Task 3答题顺序如下：
是先读一段75-100的阅读文章，限时45秒钟;
再听一段1-2分钟的听力，讨论你刚刚读到的内容;
最后你自己根据阅读和听力的内容说口语，有30秒钟准备，60秒钟说。
那么，你读到的一段一定是关于校园生活的内容，要么是announcement，要么是proposal。Announcement就是通知、布告，我们学校要涨学费了，我们图书馆要关门了，我们宿舍要拆了……校方已经做出了决定，无法更改，只是告诉你一声而已。而proposal是提议，这个提议有可能是学校提出的，也有可能是学生提出的，是西方学校民主的体现。比如说，学校说：
同学们，我们学校涨学费行不行啊?
——不——行——
那么就不涨了。
再比如说，一个同学说：
同学们，我们学校取消政治课行不行啊?
行——
于是就取消政治课了。(纯属YY)
那么在文章说清楚这个决定或者提议之后，会很人性化的给出two reasons，解释一下为啥做出这种决定。口语第三题所有阅读文章全都是这种结构，木有例外。
听力部分是两个人的对话，一定是一男一女，一般是同学关系。俩人一个是逗哏的，一个是捧哏的，也就是说其中一个是主角。那么那个配角就负责说“啊?哦。Really? I agree with you.”说的话没啥营养。他俩讨论的话题就是你在阅读中看到的内容。这个主角会在开头发表自己的观点，agree or disagree with阅读的内容。之后呢，也会给出two reasons。那么一般来说，主角都会disagree。为啥呢?因为agree的话不好出题啊，阅读中已经出现了两个reasons，如果支持的话，要么重复阅读的内容，要么再想出two reasons，不好出题。那么如果是 disagree呢?就恰好把阅读中的two reasons分别取反，所以绝绝绝绝绝绝绝绝绝大部分都是disagree。

Thanks to our superb theater program here at the university, we are fortunate
to be able to see many plays that are put on by student actors. However, while all

student plays should be open to everyone free of charge. That way, people in the local
community could benefit from having a free entertainment opinion in town. It would
also be good for the student actors, since it would help to ensure larger audiences

Create Student Committee to Decide Funding for Student Organizations
I think students should be in charge of deciding which student organizations (for
example, the jazz band or the hiking club) receive money from the university. Students
should also be in charge of how much money each organization receives. A special
committee made up of students could be created to make these decisions. Currently,
these funding decisions are made by university administrators, but a student
committee would know better than the administrators which organizations are most
important to students and most deserving of the university's financial support. I’m
sure a lot of students would be interested in serving on the committee, and those
who do serve will gain valuable leadership experience.
