一、重点词汇
1．smoke
通常作不及物动词，意为“吸烟”。

smoke也可以作名词，意为“烟”。

3. match
作名词，意为“火柴”。

批注：可以跟学生讲讲卖火柴的小女孩的故事：Once upon a time a little girl tried to make a living by selling matches in the street.
4.careful
作形容词，意为”仔细的，小心的”。
[例句] Tom was careful not to say anything about this to her. 汤姆小心翼翼，避免向她提及此事。
Be careful with the fire.当心这火。
I am always careful when crossing a street. 我过马路时总是很小心的。
批注：拓展一些类似变形的形容词，如：

5am4u3 fire说课
5A M4U3 A big fire说课本课是上海版牛津英语《5A Module4 Unit3 Fire》的第三课时《A big fire》，这是一篇记叙性阅读文章，文章分四段，讲述了一场发生在公园的大火。
现将设计思路梳理如下：整体语篇教学是学生获取语言信息和运用语言的重要途径，特别是步入高年级,这一要求越来越明显。
新教材《牛津小学英语》的课本语篇越来越长,容量越来越大,语篇中还涉及到了一定量的生词、句型以及文化背景知识及相关科学知识的介绍。
因此,如何有效地开展语篇教学成为高年级教师共同关注的话题。
我把本节课的三维目标设定如下：1、知识与技能目标：1）在文本中理解：burn, die down, luckily等内容；2）有效提高阅读速度和理解文本的准确度；3）能灵活运用所学知识流畅地表达火灾逃生方法。
2、过程与方法目标：给学生足够的时间和空间，让他们参与到整个教学活动中去，通过各种图像、视频、操练让学生学习和掌握新知识。
3、情感目标：通过学习这篇文章，能正确认识火，学会火灾逃生方法，牢固树立消防安全意识。
上述的三维目标的贯彻我力求体现在每一个教学环节和活动中。
在具体设计中，我根据《牛津教材》主张的“Task-based learning ”的教学理念，整个教学采用“任务型学习模式”的设计思路，以Pre-task preparations、While-task procedures和Post-task activities三个主要教学环节组织教学。
在Pre-task preparations这个环节我先通过A big fire in Shanghai，让学生了解火的危害，激发学生谈谈自己对消防安全的理解。
在While-task procedures这环节里，我以Mr Xu 为主角，让他以消防员的身份告诉大家一则新闻：A big fire in a country park，以学生为中心，让学生自主完成听、说、读、写，配合观察、思考、讨论等活动来学习。
