Welcome to class!

Different Ways of Lead
Different Ways of Lead-inYang Hongfrom No.1 Senior School Zengdu Suizhou Lead-in is very commonly used to begin our class. Why is it so widely used in class? There are four reasons why we use them.1. To create a good environment for English study.2. To arouse students’ interest.3. To give related information.4. To reduce the feeling of anxiety, and help to learn the new lesson smoothly. Here are some examples of my ways of lead-in. When I give the new lesson about Australia, I often have a short test about Australia:1.the capital city2.Which hemisphere does it lie in?3. the most famous tree4.typical animals5.sports6.famous buildings7.Olmpicsnguange9.people10.places of interestThese questions can make students know Australia better.Through the questions I can test how much they know about Australia, give them chances to cooperate and share their answers, and broaden their horizons at the same time. When I find my class are little tired, I often use some famous sayings, poems, and jokes to entertain them.1. There is n othing to be feared, it’s only to be understood.2. W hen I’m away, do you play and play?I really miss you every day.You often appear in my dream.I wonder if you are feeling the same.3. Doctor:Open your mouth, madam.Patient: Thank you.Doctor: Why do you thank me?Patient: My husband always asks me to shut up.These can make them awake in my class and these make them learn happily.Sometimes making comparison can make us know another thing better. These are the common ways of singing a song:1. be lost in the song, close the eyes and forget everything else, Ten'ge2.free, casual, absent, Zhou Jielun3.broken heart, cry for love, die, Yang Kun, Chen Chusheng There are different ways of singing songs. Similarly, different people have different learning styles, you can find the answer in the text----How We Learn.Don’t forget to use the color pictures. These help introduce three kinds of sports games----football, volleyball and rugby. Say something about the number of the players, parts, time, rules, famous players and important events. And give them a question-------What do they have in common? Only by working together can they succeed. That is teamwork. Then the introduction can be smooth. Let’s learn the text---Making the Team Work to know more about teamwork. Most of the time students know little about foreign writers, players, musician and artists, which makes them worried . So it’s necessary to introduce some information about them: his nationality, early life, jobs, famous works and the main content, his writing style and so on. Here are some notes about Charlce Dickens.Hard Times----an orphan finally found his parentsA Tale of Two Cities---what happened in the two cities: London and ParisGreat Expedition----what is the most important thing in lifeThe information is really necessary and helpful.Get your students to participate in your class, which always starts a good beginning, thus bringing about great success.I still remember my dear student Zheng Zhaoquan, who is very good at PE, really helped me a lot when I gave lessons about the Guiness World Records. He is really another Ashriter Furman, and his performance just showed determination, and enthusiasm in breaking new records. Another thing that happened on Mid-autumn Day often reminds me of the happy memory. When I entered the classroom, I found a sentence on the blackboard: We want mooncakes! I invited two students to give a performance about eating mooncakes in the front of the classroom and let students enjoy it. Thanks to their performance, I had little difficulty going on with my lessons about Guiness Records and festivals. That’s what I often do in my class. I prefer to use songs, poems, jokes, pictures, charts , performance and introduction to begin my class. They are very effective in making my classes lively and interesting. The tips help to create a good environment, attract students’ attention, offer helpful information for the new lessons and cause students to learnsmoothly.Though we are burdened with a heavy workload, we should think of ways to be a creative teacher. Don’t always rush. Your great success is that your students can learn happily, actively and efficiently. Appropriate ways of lead—in can make your work twice more effective. Why not have a try?。

关闭区段:写入当前区段的lead-in和lead-out,将PMA中的TOC写入到lead-in中。
