But somehow the action got reversed(颠倒)i n the programme.”About one i n twenty of the incidents the volunteers reported were these“programme assembly failures”.Twenty per cent of all errors were“test failures”—primarily due to not verifying the progress of what the body was doing.A man about to get his car out of the garage passed through the back yard where his garden jacket and boots were kept, put them on—much to his surprise.A woman victim reported:“I got into the bath w i th my socks on.”The commonest problem was information“storage failures”.People forgot the names of people whose faces they knew, went into a room and forgot why they were there, mislaid something,or smoked a cigarette without realizing it.The research so far suggests that while the“central processor”of the brain i s liberated from second-to-second control of a well-practised routine,i t must repeatedly switch back its attention at important decision points to check that the action goes on as intended.Otherwise the activity may be “captured”by another frequently and recently used programme, resulting i n embarrassing errors.82.The purpose of Professor Reason’s research i s______.A.to show the difference between men and women i n their reasoningB.to classify and explain some errors i n human actionsC.to find the causes which le a d to computer failuresD.to compare computer functions w i th brain workings83.Which of the following might be grouped under“programme assembly failures”?A.A woman went into a shop and forgot what to buy.B.A man returning home after work le f t his key i n the lock.C.A lady fell as she was concentrating on each step her feet were taking.D.An old man, with his shoes on,was trying to put on his socks.84.The word“verifying”i n paragraph3can be replaced by_________.A.improvingB.changingC.checkingD.stopping85.According to the passage, the information“storage failures”refer to______.A.the destruction of information collecting systemB.the elimination of one’s total memoryC.the temporary loss of part of one’s memoryD.the separation of one’s action from consciousness第II卷(共40分)考生注意:1.答第II卷前,考生务必将姓名、准考证号、校验码等填写清楚。

2002上海英语高考作文

2002上海英语高考作文

2002上海英语高考作文In 2002, the Shanghai English high school entrance examination essay topic was: "The Impact of the Internet on People's Lives". The Internet has become an integral part of our daily lives, revolutionizing the way we communicate, work, and access information. Its influence is profound and far-reaching, affecting individuals, societies, and even the global community. One of the most significant impacts of the Internet is on communication. With the rise of social media platforms, instant messaging services, and video conferencing tools, people can now connect with others from all corners of the world in real-time. This has not only made communication more convenient and efficient but has also broken down barriers of distance and culture, fostering greater understanding and collaboration among people. Moreover, the Internet has transformed the way we work. The rise of telecommuting and remote work options has allowed individuals to work from anywhere with an internet connection. This flexibility has not only improved work-life balance but has also opened up new opportunities for people to pursue their careers while traveling or living in different parts of the world. In addition, the Internet has democratized access to information. With a few clicks, we can access a wealth of knowledge on any topic imaginable. This has empowered individuals to educate themselves, learn new skills, and stay informed about current events. However, the abundance of information also poses challenges, as it can be difficult to discern between reliable sources and misinformation.Furthermore, the Internet has revolutionized the way we consume entertainment. Streaming services, online gaming platforms, and social media have become integral parts of our leisure time. While this has provided us with endless entertainment options, it has also raised concerns about screen time, addiction, and the impact of digital media on our mental health.Overall, the Internet has had a profound impact on people's lives, shaping the way we communicate, work, access information, and entertain ourselves. While its benefits are undeniable, we must also be mindful of its potential drawbacks and strive to use it responsibly and ethically. As we continue to navigate the digital age, it is important to harness the power of the Internet for good, while also being vigilant of its pitfalls.。

高考真题透视2002高考试题汇总

高考真题透视2002高考试题1. 2002高考试题AIn 1901, H. G. Wells, an English writer, wrote a book describing a trip to the moon. When the explorers (探险者) landed on the moon, they discovered that the moon was full of underground cities. They expressed their surpris e to the “moon people” they met. In turn, the “moon people” expressed their surprise. “Why,” they asked, “are you traveling to outer space when you don’t even use your inner space?”H. G. Wells could only imagine travel to the moon. In 1969, human beings really did land on the moon. People today know that there are no underground cities on the moon. However, the question that the “moon people” asked is still an interesting one. A growing number of scientists are seriously thinking about it.Underground systems are already in place. Many cities have underground car parks. In some cities, such as Tokyo, Seoul and Montreal, there are large underground shopping areas. The “Chunnel”, a tunnel ( 隧道) connecting England and France, is now complete. But what ab out underground cities? Japan’s Taisei corporation is designing a network of underground systems, called “Alice Cities”. The designers imagine using surface space for public parks and using underground space for flats, offices, shopping, and so on. A solar dome (太阳能穹顶) would cover the whole city.Supporters of underground development say that building down rather than building up is a good way to use the earth’s space.
