增词与减词套路

保证语法结构的完整，忠于原文

翻译增词二原则，

一要译文精而准，词形变化需体现，

抽象名词需增译，二要语法结构对，

关注汉语无主句，增补代名连介冠。

翻译减词记两点，

英汉注意衔接词，汉英删除重复处，

增减词不增减意。

增词（虽无其词，但有其义。）

1. 英语名词复数，汉译时增加重叠词、数词或其它词来表达。

一些地下走廊和几间房间

2. 英语有各类时态，汉语则缺少，英译汉时通过增加表示时间的字词来体现。

3. 范畴词：英语中某些抽象名词、不及物动词或代词，若单独译出，有时意思不够明确，可分别在其后增加“状态”、“工作”、“过程”、“现象”、“方面”、“问题”、“情况”、“领域”等没事实质意义的词。

②延缓语气。

1) We should vigorously develop education and science and technology. 我们应当大力发展教育和科技事业。

4. 汉语无主句英译时需增词。

1）不坚持就会失败。

One will fail unless one perseveres.

2) 全面发展同其他发达国家友好合作与交流。

We will develop our friendly cooperation and promote echanges in an all-round way with other developed countries.

减词（删除重复出现、意思重复的词语）

1. 代词、冠词、介词等在英译汉时多减词。

1) Anyone who does not recognize this fact is not a materialist.

不承认这个事实，就不是唯物主义者。

2) A teacher should have patience in his work.

老师在工作中应该有耐心。

3) Do you work in the daytime or at night?

你是在白天工作还是夜间工作。

2. 词复：主语与表语重复，英译时减词。

1) 不懂就是不懂，不要装懂。

We must not pretend to know when we do not know.

3. 意复：汉语中的对偶词组，在含义上重复，在修辞上匀称，英译时译出一层意思即可。

1) 称心如意 satisfactory

2) 日新月异 ever changing

3) 深仇大恨 deep hatred

1. This crisis will test the political resolve of governments that have historically focused on ending hunger.

对于曾把工作重心放在消除饥饿的各国政府来说，这场危机将会考验他们的政治决心。

2. Old people in Widou Thiengoly say they can remember when there were so many trees that you couldn't see the sky.

维多西恩格里的老人们都说，当年这里树木繁盛，林荫蔽日。

某些前沿领域取得了可喜的进展。
