英语是一门语言，要学好它是很不容易的，学习者必须从听、说、读、写四个方面出发，全面掌握和运用英语，才能将它运用自如。在多年的教学中，笔者发现大部分初中生在听、说、读三个方面做得比较好，而写则成为了学生的一大难题。在英语考试中，英语写作是必考内容，写作也是考查学生综合运用语言能力的有效方法。在考试中，学生最困惑、最容易失分的“写作”题目的分值，也是很高的。因此，如何提高学生的写作能力，是英语教师及待解决的问题。 在英语教学中，教师往往对学生作这样的比喻，作文就像建房子，单词、短语是砖瓦，而语法则是房子的框架。因此，要写好一篇短文，首先要积累单词、短语和句式，然后再学习如何运用这些单词、短语写出围绕中心思想的一系列正确的句子，构成一篇优秀的短文。
初中学生写英语短文时，通常是根据情景提示写作，或是看图写短文。题目一般分为三大类：写人、物（景）或记一件事。写作之前，首先要求学生认真审题，认真揣摩所给出的情景，弄清楚“我”要选用什么体裁和题材。在考试中，如果写“跑题”要被扣掉分值的一半，甚至是零分。
下面，根据自己的一些教学经验谈一谈个人的见解。
1、 写人
写人不能只是写出姓名、年龄、职业等，还要写出人物的性格，将人写“活”。可以写出人物的外貌特征、思想品质、兴趣爱好、生活规律及心理活动等等，这样写出的人才能给读者留下一个生动鲜明的形象。例如：

hair. she is a beautiful. she is not only my mother but also my
english teacher. she is very kind to us and often helps us with
our lessons. her class is very interesting. all of us enjoy her
class very much. she has made many friends with students. i

2、 写物或写景
与写人一样，都具有说明性。但写物或写景，应该有明显的次序，不能东一头西一头的乱撞，要挑自己熟悉的物来写，给读者一个栩栩如生的形象。
3、 写事
写事多采用记叙文的形式，这要求调理清楚，逻辑性强，像讲故事一样。这类作文往往以时间顺序为基本线索，常常有一些词语：in
the morning/afternoon/evening/first/soon/at last等等。这些是理顺条理的信号.在使用时间顺序的同时,还可以结
合使用权用空间顺序,把事情发生时的某个场面表述出来,主题要鲜明，记叙要完整。例如：

为了提高写作水平，除了用记叙文形式写人、写物及写事以外，学生们还可以练习写对话，看图作文，写议论文、写应用文、信件、邀请函等。通过反复练习，才能全面搞自己的写作水平。 最后，还想提醒学同生们，写短文要注意：1、平时练习要严格要求，尽量尝试采用不同的体裁和句式。多请教老师和同学。在考试中，尽量运用自己熟悉的、有把握的句式和单词。2、认真审题，做到心中有数。在内容和字数上严格按题目要求去做，切忌随意发挥，否则会弄巧成拙。3、写完后，要仔细检查时态、
