一、2012北京中考英语试卷整体特点
整体来说，2012年的英语科目试题难度有所增加，分数和难易度分配相对合理，与2011年试卷相比，听力分值及语速方面都有些变化。
2012年中考英语试卷的浅水区部分难度并不是特别大。在平时的考试中，如果能够拿满分的同学，一般在这里都不会丢分的。具体哪些题目属于浅水区呢？具体来说，它们就是：听力、单选、阅读AB篇、还原句子、阅读与表达前4题、完成句子前4题。这些题目都是在考查同学们平时的基本功，所以只要大家留心、注意审题，这些题基本上都能够做到十拿九稳。
如果说浅水区是“送分”的题，那么深水区部分则就是大家平时所说的“容易丢分”的题，这些题目包括：完形填空、阅读CD篇、阅读与表达第5题、完成句子第5题。深水区的题是拉开分数距离的题目，即使浅水区的题目同学们全部做对了，但是依然会因为深水区的题目和拉开分数档。而今年中考的阅读理解对学生文化背景了解程度加深了一些，不再像往年一样单纯看懂文章就可以了；我们在《直击中考》的课程中曾经反复强调，做这类题的重点可能不会放在词汇上，也可能不会放在固定搭配上等等，但是更多的还是在于注重同学们对作者的思想、态度的理解，注重对命题人意图的理解。（参看《丁老师课堂《直击中考》（十一）—— 阅读理解 》）
