围绕When is the ant show?引出 A、B、C 三个板块的内容。
A、B 部分呈现两组情景对话、一些重点词汇和一篇阅读小短文等新知识点，C 部分则是以讲趣味故事形式巩固或延续知识面。
本单元是在复习以前学过的一些月份和序数词的基础上，注重学习具体日期的英语表达方式，学习序数词与基数词的转换规律，教师应采取灵活多样的方式进行教学.What：本语篇类型为日记，主要讲述了Sarah在帮好友Chen Jie整理相册以及帮忙准备妈妈生日的过程当中，受到了 Chen Jie积极向上、热爱生活态度的影响，她也开始用写日记的方式来记录她的special days。
这节课主要是分享关于她的小猫的成长点滴。
分为四小篇日记，介绍了不同时间，小猫的外貌、能力、Sarah为小猫做的事情以及感受。
Why:通过阅读 Sarah 的日记，了解小猫成长的点滴带给主人的快乐，在此过程中渗透情感教育，引导学生理解special的内涵，让学生了解到自己也可以关注到生活的点滴并记录下来，引导学生去关注生活、热爱生活。
How:该语篇是记录小猫成长的描述性文本，文本类型是日记。

语篇使用一般现在时，在语篇结构上，都是围绕小猫成长去展开，主要涉及五个维度：日期、外貌、能力、行动和感受。
