2013 年江苏省高考英语试题遵循“稳中有变，变中提高”的命题原则。试卷突出语篇，强调运用，整体难度较去年上升。语言方面，篇幅加长，长难句增多；设题方面，重点突出，考查内容清晰，难、中、易试题分布合理，区分度高。整份试卷呈现创新性、基础性、交际性和开放性的特点，且全面科学地测试了学生的英语水平，凸显了高校选拔人才的功能。
一、听力分析及得分策略
听力考试时间加长，往年听力时长为 20分钟左右，而今年增加到 24 分钟。听力时间变长意味着考生做剩余题目的可利用时间变少，对考生正常的做题速度是一个很大的挑战。听力题的话题涉及购物、餐饮、度假等，语速与去年相近，材料基本上从短到长。
[得分策略] 扎实的语言知识功底是考好听力的前提。好成绩的取得需要勤学苦练，只有勤学苦练方能熟能生巧。但也应认识到任何学科的考试都会有自身的规律和特点，如果我们能够根据这些规律和特点总结出一些方法和策略，并将它们应用于训练和测试中，定能收到事半功倍之效果。平时要多听VOA及BBC快速英语，让自己的耳朵适应它，并能快速抢读试题，积极进行预测，带着问题去听；善于抓住关键词句，重视全文理解；学会边听边记，防止遗忘。当然，熟悉并了解历年高考听力题，再掌握一些科学、合理的听力技巧，就一定能在听力测试中得心应手。
