该班学生已有两年的英语学习经历，有一定的英语基础。
孩子们上课积极性高，英语学习兴趣浓厚，能较好地参与到英语学习活动中。

本课的课文情境是不认识姐姐书包里物品的汤姆在翻看埃米的书包,询问近处和远处的物品分别是什么,埃米很耐心地教汤姆识别这些物品,最后还淘气地借助电灯投射出小猫的阴影,吓汤姆一跳。
教学目标知识目标1．能听懂、会读、初步运用本单元的三会单词,即：that、say、again、schoolbag、ball、book；2．能运用“What's that？”询问远处的某物是什么,并用“It's a/an＋可数名词单数”回答；3．学习this、that中th的发音；4．感知英语韵句的节奏。
能力目标能在实际情景中运用本模块所学语言询问远处的某物是什么,并作出正确的回答。
情感目标教育学生要乐于向别人介绍信息,并敢于提问。

学情分析
低年级学生的年龄特点是活泼好动，模仿力强。因为三年级学生学习英语的时间并不长，所以还存在着学习方法和学习策略经验不足等问题，但是他们对英语充满了好奇心和兴趣。乐于参与，有较强的表达欲望，喜欢直观形象思维，对游戏、竞赛、画画特别感兴趣。本课主要是进行What’s this? What’s that?这两个句型的巩固与拓展，在学习本课之前学生也已经积累了一些物品的名称（如：chair, desk, door, window…），同时也对上一单元的目标语句What’s this?及其回答It’sa(n)…有了一些的掌握与运用。为此，在导入本课新知之前，运用“温故而知新”的指导思想，先带领学生复习上一单元的旧知，再适时融入新的目标语，激发学生学习的浓厚兴趣。
