An introduction to myself

Good morning, professors. It’s my great honor to be

here for this interview.

My name is XXX 24. I come from XXX, the only city of

islands in China with beautiful scenery and many kinds

of delicious sea food.

I major in Mechatronic Engineering in XX University. I

began to study Mechanical engineering because I am

attracted to the fields of mathematics and science. Apart

from this, I’m motivated by the interest in technology

and how everyday things work or, perhaps with more

enthusiasm, in how not-so-everyday things work.

In the past three years, I have been studying hard and

I was granted the TOP scholarship every year. Besides

passing College English Test-4 and 6, the National

Computer Rank Examination level 2, I also gained many

diplomas.

Then it comes to my hobbies and interests. I spend

my spare time on reading, seeing movies, traveling.

Besides, Bluce Lee is my idol and although I can’t kung fu,

I like it, so I play ShuangJieGun. All these activities enrich

my extra-curricular life very much. Generally speaking, I’m a hard working person

especially for doing what I’m interested in. I will try my

best to manage it no matter how difficult it is, both in

study and work. When I was a sophomore, I took part in

XX Province Mechanical Design Competition with other

two classmates. We must design and manufacture the

machine all by ourselves. Even if we had not learned the

curriculum - Design of Machinery and we did not master

the manufacture of hardware. Through studying by

ourselves, consulting teachers, and overcoming

difficulties, we finally completed the design and

production of the machine and won a prize.

I remember that when I was asked by my Chinese

teacher in middle school about my target of studying, I

said” I want to get a master's degree”. Yes, I have a

dream to be a master. I long for Knowledge especially

what I’m interested in. In an age of knowledge and

information explosion, what I have learned in college

can hardly meet the demand of society. Besides,

undergraduates often lack practice.

It’s important for me to realize my dream, especially

in the competitive society. On the other hand, ZheJiang University has a good reputation in the field where my

research lies and so many excellent teachers who have

profound knowledge and strong scientific research

abilities. If I could be lucky enough to be one member of

this great university, I will spare no effort to make my

dream come true.
