二、 学情分析 学生对于卡通片非常熟悉，对米老鼠这一卡通角色也是耳熟能详，但是对于卡通片在美国文化中的地位，以及米老鼠背后的故事了解并不多。所以，在学生已有的知识经验基础上，设计层层的阅读任务，让学生通过阅读获取信息，生成新知。本篇文章可以拓展学生的知识面，提高学生跨文化交际的意识。
本课新词汇量适中，语句平实简洁，文章中出现的四个难句长句，那就需要在具体的语言环境中理解。但对于学习较好的学生来说，阅读量稍显不足，可以做阅读量的补充。八年级的孩子大概是14岁左右，还未完全脱离童年的稚气，也对“成功”有一定的渴望，因此，选择本课，非常走心，符合孩子们的心理特征。 三、教学目标 基于以上的学情分析以及《义务教育英语课程标准（2011 年版）》对阅读技能的要求，确定了该课的教学目标：
（1）能够在句子或文本语境中正确理解三个重点短语：come out，be ready to，not as... as，准确翻译四个重点短语：one of the main reasons，over 80 years，try one’s best， face danger。
（2）培养学生速读、细读的能力；根据文本中时间的主线，培养孩子不同时间发生不同事件的归纳能力。根据问题的设置培养上下文逻辑关系寻找、处理信息的能力；结合语境判断词性、选择最佳词意的能力；培养学生严谨、准确翻译句子关键词的意识。能力目标的达成也是本课的重难点所在。
四、情感目标： （1）鼓励学生充满勇气，面对困境，永不言弃，努力到最后，你就是最好。 （2）学生能够拓展知识，提高跨文化交际的意识，激起学生对本国文化的关注和重视，树立起名族自豪感。
五、教学设计思路 本节课的设计思路主要围绕以下几条主线进行： 1.以阅读能力的培养为主线研究文本，根据文本特征设置贴切多样的阅读训练任务，通过阅读，帮助学生体会、运用、掌握几项具体阅读技能和策略，如获取信息，围绕疑问词what/when/who/how/why等处理细节信息，与此同时，根据语言环境猜测生词。
2.以人物特征和情感态度的渗透为辅线，穿插介绍文中丰富的文化元素，帮助学生了解、积累相关文化背景知识；帮助学生从美国文化的角度理解Mickey深受美国人喜爱的原因，是因为它虽是个小人物，却总是竭尽全力，面对困难，这其实恰恰符合了美国人崇尚自我奋斗的性格和灵魂深处的美国梦。从而呼应课件结尾“try your best and you are the best”的情感目标。此外，通过Mickey, 可以让学生感受到“精神”的重要性，从而联系中国卡通人物特征，提升民族自豪感。
六、教学步骤 Step 1: Lead-in PPT 展示一系列学生喜爱的卡通形象，并配以活泼动感的音乐，学生思考并谈谈他们最喜爱的卡通人物。
