Section A 1a通过让学生把几个不同的人及其在UFO出现的相应位置进行配对，初步呈现本单元的目标语言，即talk about past events。
1c是一个会话活动，让学生练习when 和while引导的时间状语从句和过去进行时的表达法。
3b是对学生目标语言运用能力的检验，要求学生能看图口头复述故事。
4是一个小组活动，让学生结合自己的生活实际，以采访的形式练习过去进行时的用法。
Section B 2c要求学生仿照例句谈论2a中列出的行为，练习while引导的时间状语从句的用法。
4a提供了几幅图画，要求学生能根据图画内容写一段故事，练习用过去时写作。

1）整理思路——组织素材Interesting events的话题是回忆我们过去生活中有趣的话题，作为学生都有自己的兴趣爱好，回忆什么？当时你在做什么？指导建议：本单元话题是谈论过去发生的事情，运用when 和while引导的时间状语从句、过去进行时以及一般过去时。
2）规划文章结构——列出提纲由于已经基本确定要写的内容，文章开头用一句话说明自己过去某一时候，你在什么地方；主体部分重点阐述过去某一时候，你在做什么。
3）组织语言——起草文章罗列出学过的兴趣爱好的短语，学生动笔写作，老师走动观察学生写作情况，解决学生写作时出现的问题。
4）集体批改——同伴批改修订——形成二稿——展示学生互评后，老师抽样与全班同学一起点评，指导学生如何批改，学生从中也学会了怎样写好作文（如何找到作文的错误的地方或不足点，同时也要找到该作品的亮点）。
3、写作拓展周末, 同学都喜欢到公园游玩，根据下列要点，描述你班同学上周周末公园游玩时的情景。
上周周末, 全班同学到公园游玩。
天气宜人，公园到处是绿树和鲜花。
上午，有的同学唱歌、跳舞，有的打排球或羽毛球（badminton）。
吃完午饭，划船、登山，虽然很疲劳，但是很高兴，我们玩得非常痛快。

4、教学小结(1)、写作课不是教语言知识点，而是教学生如何运用目标语言来谋篇布局的写作技能，同时也适时地贯穿一些做人的道理。
(2)、用多种批改方式，提高学生对语言的运用能力。
互相批改是个省时省力的方法，但前提是老师先教学生基本的批改方法。
还有，老师不能把所有的工作由学生自己负责，在学生批改后，要进一步检查。
