under the quilt(被子)?” “I’m not sure. I never care about that,” said his grandfather,“I’ll look

D [2019·河池改编] Many people believe that tea was first drunk nearly 5,000 years ago. It is said that a
Chinese ruler called Shen Nong was the first to discover tea as a drink. More than 4,000 years
later, Lu Yu, “the saint of tea”, mentioned Shen Nong in his book Cha Jing. The book
describes how tea plants were grown and used to make tea. It also discusses where the first tea
leaves were produced and what kinds of water were used.
It is believed that tea was brought to Korea and Japan during the 6th and 7th centuries. In
England, tea didn’t appear until around 1660, but less than 100 years later, it had become the
national drink. The tea trade from China to Western countries took place in the 19th century.
This helped to spread the popularity of tea and the tea plants to more places around the world.
Even though many people now know about tea culture, the Chinese are without doubt the

Everyone worries. But how do you deal with your worries? Whether your worries are big or
small, you can take these three steps to deal with your worries:
Try to find out what you're worried about.
Sometimes, you will know what you're worried about. Other times, you might not. Try to find
it out first. If you can't, you can ask for help.
Think of ways to make it better
There is always something you can do to help you feel less worried. Sitting there worrying is no
fun and it won’t solve your problem.
Grades at school are often a top worry for kids. If you're worried about grades, ask yourself
these questions:
☆Why are grades important? What do grades mean to me?
☆How do I get ready for class? Do I go over (复习) my notes even when there isn't a test?

Once there was a boy in Toronto. His name was Jimmy. He started painting when he
was three years old, and when he was five he was already very good at it. He painted(绘画) many beautiful and interesting pictures, and a lot of people bought his pictures. They
said, "This boy is going to be famous when he's a little older, and then we're going to sell
these pictures for a lot of money."
Jimmy's pictures were different from other people's because he never painted on all of
the paper. He painted on half of it, and the other half was always empty.
"That's very clever, " everybody said. "No other painters have ever done that! "
One day somebody asked him, "Please tell me this, Jimmy. Why do you paint on the
bottom(底) half of your pictures, but not on the top half? "
"Because I'm small, " Jimmy said, "and my brushes can't reach very high."

I think the most terrible thing in life for my little brother is getting up in the morning. He is almost sick when
my mother calls, "Herbert! It's seven o'clock! Get up!"
Herbert answers, "I'm coming!" and goes right back to sleep. I'm not at all like my brother. I don't like to go to bed
at night but I don't mind getting up in the morning. I usually wake up before my mother calls me. I jump out of bed
and go into the bathroom to take a shower. I get dressed, brush my teeth, comb my hair, and get ready to go
downstairs for breakfast as soon as my mother calls.
But not Herbert. He just sleeps. A military band (军乐队) in our bedroom could not wake him up. I call him and
say, "Get up! Mum will be up here to pull you out of bed if you don't get up immediately!"

Nothinglivesalone.Mostanimalsmustliveinagroup,andevenaplantgrowsclosetogetherwithothersofthesamekind.Sometimesonelivingthingkillsanother,oneeatsandtheotheriseaten.Eachkindoflifeeatsanotherkindoflifeinordertolive,andtogethertheyformafoodchain(食物链)。Somefoodchainsbecomebrokenupifoneofthelinksdisappears. Theylookgoodevenaftertheyhavebeenwashedmanytimes.Sometimessomeclothescostmoremoney,butitdoesnotmeanthattheyarealwaysbettermade,ortheyalwaysfitbetter.Inotherwords,somelessexpensiveclotheslookandfitbetterthanmoreexpensiveclothes.
