1.专有名词或专业术语的英译 术语的准确翻译是产品说明书英译的难点。它要求译者有广
博的知识，甚至要超越原作者。因为作者没有提到的，或认为不 言自明的，正需要译者向读者做出说明和解释。
根据科技翻译的一般性原则，中文产品说明书中术语一般应 采取直译的方法。当中文术语照字面意思直接翻译成相对应、对 等的英文术语的相关信息（所指、内涵、用法）都基本吻合时， 直译法具有简单明了的效果。如：“洁面泡沫”直译为“clean foam”；食品中的“防腐剂”和“稳定剂”直译为“preservative” 和“stabilizer”等。

酒分为38℃、52℃、60℃等等。有译者将38℃、52℃、 60℃ⅩⅩⅩ酒译为the 38℃52℃，60℃ⅩⅩⅩ。这样直译， 外国人能否看得懂就难说了，因为他（她）们未必清楚中 国白酒的度数实为酒精的百分比含量。为了与英语表达相 吻合，最好改译成thliquors（ⅩⅩⅩ）containing 38％，52 ％or 60％alcohol。
