三、教学过程
Ⅰ. Lead-in
1. 通过看图片来进入本课时的主题，讨论一个人从小到大有了怎样的变化。
Ⅱ. Presentation
1. Show some pictures on the big screen. Let Ss guess some adj about people’s ap pearance and personality.
2. Focus attention on the picture.
Ask: Which word can you think of at first?
Say: the words are related to people’s appearance and personality.
Help Ss to understand the words and show them answers: tall, short, straight hair, curly hair, ugly, strong, heavy, wear glasses, outgoing, quiet
3.Then, ask Ss to work out more adj with their groups, four students in a group. .
4.After the talking, check the results. Answers: lazy, hard-working, patient, handsome,honest,humorous...
5.Show Ss more important adj on the screen and ask them to repeat for three times.
6.Focus attention on Yao Ming’s and Yang Mi’s pictures, get the sentence: He used to be short. But he is tall now. She used to have straight hair? But she has curly hair now
III. Listening
1. Point to the 1b on the textbook.
Ask: Bob is seeing some friends for the first time in four years. What did his friends use to look like?
Say: Read the material before listening.
2. Play the recording.
Say: Pay attention to some keys words. Listen carefully.
4. Check the answers.
IV．Pair work
1. Point out the sample conversation on the screen. Ask Ss to read the conversation to the class.
2. Now work with a partner. Make your own conversation about the your own changes.
3. Ss work in pairs. As they talk, move around the classroom and give any help they need.
4. Let some pairs act out their conversations.
5. Show a picture of an famous actor,
Ask: Did he used to be short? Used he to wear glasses? Answer: Yes, he did./No, he didn’t.
V. Listening
1. Ask Ss to read the words of 2a. Tell them to check out the words they hear.
2. Play the recording the first time. Ss listen and check the words. VI. Pair work

3. Ask some pairs to act out their conversations.
VII. Role-play the conversation.
1. First show Ss three about the material.

（现在不在一起踢了)2．used to的疑问形式和否定形式为Did you use to…?和I didn’t use to… 也可以用Used you to…?和I used not to…但现在多使用前者。
