11.超人superhumans
如果外星超人来到地球上，那么他们与我们人类之间会产生一种什么关系？所谓“超人”，其实就是指来自其他行星的一种假设的人类，他们的文明较之于人类更发达。
甘·拉文分析研究了其伦理道德。
一个最让大家争论不休的问题是：外星超人对我们人类会有所关照吗?或者他们仅仅是把我们当作一种微不足道的动物？作者的分析发人深省。
如果从种种差异判别，特别是把人分成三、六、九等来看，外星人自然应列入“超人”之类。
我想，这正是畅梢科幻小说里经常出没的人物形象。
例如，在现实中，我们按人类常规不难设想出有的人简直能创造出隔山运木之类的奇迹。
想想和人个头差不多的“蜘蛛侠”飞檐走壁，力大无比，人们不堪一击，如此等等。
再想想我们人类可说是拿外星人无计可施：虽说热核能武器威力无比，但外星人居然安然无恙，真令人难以置信。
超人凭感官就能对物体进行透视，或者能直接看到根本不为我们一般人所知的信号，或者我们明知已有但得借助精密仪器才能看到的信号。
自然，时下人们总认为这类超人天生就具有神奇的信息处理特异功能。
把这些特征跟“超人”联系起来，对人们的道德观念会产生什么影响呢?
人们所议论的外星人的“超人”一面(毫无疑问这已引起爱思索的读者或电视观众的关注)，并不在于他们极其人性化的特征，而在于他们那非凡的善解人意的能力。
然而，这些特是否具有某种道德性的意义则要取决于外星人的心理。
他们用这些神奇的力量可能会干些什么?按理说，这些具有超人能量的外星人很有可能会超乎想像地乐善好施、心地友善、慷慨大方。
但情况并非如人所料。
如果真是那样，我们人类必须持有这种意念：避免致使外星人干出一些不考虑我们人类利益的不测事件。
倘若外星超人真是刀枪不入，此举实属画蛇添足；但如果我们认为外星人也有一个致命的弱点(就像一个前景看好的候选人往往在核轰炸问题上遭到人们的责难那样)，那么就有一个尤为可取的原则：人们不要有任何冒犯外星人之举。
外星超人能为我们做些什么呢?种种可能数不胜数：想像外星人做超级清扫夫，把地板弄得纤尘不染，效率奇高，乐此不疲；或者是当超级建筑工，他们会用源源不断、唾手可得的各种建筑材料给你建造摩天大楼，短短几个小时即可大功告成，甚至你想什么时候完工就完工；或者是，倘若外星人数量有限，就不难想像会形成通常由于人们切身利益分配不均而引发的各种人类社会问题，或许还会引发战争、造成世界分割成资本主义和社会主义阵营等等，不一而足，在我看来，上面所有这一切自然均为人类问题；只是难以从中看出有什么根本的道德含义，假如人们所议论的这些外星超人果真法力无边、无所不能、大包大揽人类无穷无尽的需求，那么由于地球资源医乏、分配不均而引发的种种问题就不复存在了；人类于是就生活在休摸作品中的伊甸园里，我们为争夺有效资源所产生的种种纠纷变得毫无意义，进而还会导致人们与世无争、相安无事。
这样一种情况下，又会出现另外一个问题：生活如此安逸舒适，我们人类还能欣欣向荣吗？不难想像，会出现一种自我否定的道德观，即要求我们从自身的长远利益出发，避免过度沉溺于外星人的服侍。
生活中常常见到这样一种情形：从家里到上班的地方只要走一会儿就到了，虽然人们也正需要走路这种运动，可一旦家里有车，就谁也抵档不住开车去上班的诱惑。
诸如此类的例子还可举出一些。
而这又似乎与人类最根本的道德利益不挂钩。
但是或许人们可以这么推测：那些能力高超、貌似人类的外星人很可能并不会因效劳于人类而获得莫大的快慰，而人们却指望他们所提供的是一种不折不扣、卑躬屈膝的服务。
自然，还有一种与之截然相反的可能，那就是：外星人断然要奴役我们人类，或者是把人像牛一样好好养起来作为他们的美味佳肴。
我们得好好想想这种谁也不愿意看到的可能性。
这似乎有两种不同的形式：一种是这个人们议论的外星人确实刀枪不入，人们拿他毫无办法；另外一种是他们并非如此。
当然，这只是一种简单的划分。
显然，两种情形里不知还会有多少不同的各种可能。
姑且一个一个地考虑一番吧。
“脆弱”一词如用在此处，所要表达的用意甚为差强人意，因为此词往往用于某种事物受到伤害或损害的情况。
但仍要进一步区别下面这两种情况：(1)通常的含义——遭到杀害、受伤、肢体功能受损等等情形；(2)特定的含义——指人们可以截住不给对方希望得到的服务及物品。
这种差别具有重要意义，不难想像这样一种情况：某一种生物对另一种生物根本就谈不上伤害(因为对方本身可说是刀枪不入、法力无边)，而他们对惟独只有我们人类所能给予的东西则情有独钟。
浅而言之，外星人与人类的关系多少有点像人类男人和女人间的关系：两性当中，男人伤害女人、杀害女人等等情况，比女人反过来伤害男人、杀害男人的情况要多得多；但唯有女人能给予男人那种他们如有办法不肯将就的东西。
因此，尽管现在“性别大战”方兴未艾，但男人与女人仍尽力密切为伴、和睦相处，甚至可说是男女两性关系的主要特点。
人们不难看到，人与外星人的关系多少也是如此。
倘若这样，人类与外星超人有望达成和睦相处、互惠互利的双边关系。
但如果人类在外星超人眼里就犹如蚂蚁在我们眼里一样，那又会怎样呢?假设外星人如此技艺高超，我们人类在其衬托下就显得十分微不足道。
那么也就会引发这样两个问题：其一，这是否可能；其二，如果可能，则又会有什么后果？我认为第二个问题回答起来还比较容易。
一些哲学家可能倾向于这样论证：既然外星超人有义务在观念上把我们人类当作蚂蚁来看待，我们就应该改变习惯，对蚂蚁采取更友善的态度。
2争议必然会朝另一端发展下去，虽然不会让我们感到舒服，但似乎更为合理:我们可以得出这样的结论，超人对我们不负任何责任。
在他们眼里，我们地球人类顶多只不过是一些引发科学好奇心的物体，就像我们看待蚂蚁一样(且不计其阻挠价值)。
坦率地说，我们从中充其量可找到的自我心理安慰又有多少！
能否那样打比方来描绘外星人跟我们人类的关系真是一个有趣的问题。
也许人们会认为，我们与蚂蚁的差别，不只是稍有不同，而是分属不同的种类，这就使得两者有着天壤之别。
特别是，我们人类是一种具有意识，或准确地说，具有自我意识，并由此产生其他一切心理品质的生物；而蚂蚁，我们则设想根本就谈不上有什么内心感情生活及什么意识了。
我们这么“设想”，但我们是否果真就了解呢？这就很难说了。
就拿人类胚胎来说吧！胚胎是否有意识？某些人用脑电图测试之类的手段就断言胎儿是不具有意识的，甚至还证实了这一点。
对此，我肯定是支持上述看法，但我这一看法并不是因为自己多么精通这些别出心裁的科学仪器设备所致。
问题的症结就在于我确实无法回忆起自己还处在胎儿阶段时对事物是否留有任何记忆，而那些我难以接受其观点的人也无法做到这一点。
如果胎儿有意识，毫无疑问地也不至于在大脑中留下明显的记忆痕迹，而这就肯定无法充分证明胎儿具备意识的存在。
但是说到蚂蚁，其问题显然与此不同。
在某些奇妙细微的方面，它们的行为的确令人叹为观止。
但要想蚂蚁能按人一样思维办事，那我们发现这将会是毫无结果，一无所获。
但是，这不同于我提出的胎儿意识试验，那么做肯定存在欠缺：我们努力想像蚂蚁的意识，却得不出任何有趣的结论，这一事实恰恰说明了我们的局限性，而不是蚂蚁的局限性。
还有可能，我们人类与这些微不足道的蚂蚁根本就无法“息息相通”。
不管我们能否认定他们是否具有意识，但终归我们清楚地了解了他们的行为与局限，假设蚂蚁真的具有意识，假设蚂蚁的确聪明到知道如何修筑蚁山，当它们朝某方向排队前行时，众蚂蚁都规规矩矩排成队伍跟在蚁王后，这是因为蚂蚁一心想要跟随蚁王，领会自己在谋求共同福利中出力的举足轻重的作用。
那么我们现在应该有所感触吧？是否以至于必然要赋予蚂蚁种种权力呢？实际上，我想人们不致如此。
与其念念不忘地认定蚂蚁是具有意识、充满智慧的生灵，我们人类为何不对蚂蚁的“处世哲学”忽略不计呢?对于像蚂蚁一样乐于献身事业的人(除了短暂地进行科学观测)，难道我们不应该钦佩地多看几眼？这难道不是构建道德规范的元素？
我似乎的确可以想像到，外星超人完全有可能持有我们人类这种观点。
那些人类自认为辉煌灿烂的文化、智慧、道德等等诸如此类的伟绩，对于外星人来说，简直是不足挂齿；而这并不是因为其智商和理解力的局限，而是相比之下，我们人类所取得的成就根本不足为奇。
如果真是这样的话，我看我们就没有理由认为我们正在谈论的这种生物会张开羽翼(或者什么东西)来保护我们，赋予我们权利等等。
