AOn September 10, 2018, Jack Ma, founder and chairman of Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba, announced his successor (继任者) at the company. Surprisingly, in a country where 70 to 80 percent of private companies are still family run, Mr. Ma did not name a family member. Rather, one of the world’s largest ecommerce companies will be led by Daniel Zhang, an 11year Alibaba old hand chosen only for his “professional talent”.The history of many countries can be marked by a trend away from dependence on family succession in business, or the belief that qualities of leadership flow through bloodlines. Ma is a true innovator (创新者) in many ways, most famous for building an innovative online shopping market worth more than the economies of most countries. But his legacy (遗产) may lie in showing how China as well as much of Asia can produce founders of successful organizations unwilling to pass the torch to relatives.“Alibaba was never about Jack Ma,” he stated in ann ouncing his succession plan. Instead, the former schoolteacher who came from lowly origins is stepping back from day-to-day operations because he has built a system that takes root in a company culture based on innovation, transparency, and responsibility. “For the last 10 years, we kept working on these ingredient s,” he stated. The company’s future will depend on developing a wealth of talent that drives innovation, he said. And in a society with a long tradition of cautious distrust toward those outside the family circle, Ma has built an “architecture of trust” with customers, who number over half a billion. Chinese now readily rely on Alibaba’s online payment system, its ratings of products and services, and other trust-building systems or methods pioneer ed by the company.China’s rapid growth now produces a new billionaire almost every day. Many of them, like Ma, have favored systems of management based on talent and honesty. As many countries have discovered as they progress, it is better to swim in a talent pool, not a gene pool.1.What do we know about Daniel Zhang from the passage?A.He’s a talented professor.B.He’s an experienced manager.C.He’s a successful founder.D.He’s chairman of Alibaba.2.Where does Ma’s legacy lie in?A.Becoming a successful innovative founder.B.Cast ing doubt on traditional succession plan.C.Providing creative answers to succession problems.D.Representing trends towards non-family-run companies.3.What seems to be the recipe for the company’s future success?A.Trust-building methods.B.The “architecture of trust”.C.A culture of talent development.D.The latest successful innovations.4.What can be a suitable title for the text?A.Prefer Qualities to BloodB.Train a Potential SuccessorC.Favor Genes over TalentsD.Provide New ManagementBThe spine (脊柱) stands at the center of your health, providing your body with structure and support. It also contains a major collection of nerves that deliver electric signals from the rest of the body to your brain. Since your spine is so central to health, it’s important to take care of it.Staying in a good position is one of the most important things you can do to keep your spine healthy. A properposition means standing or sitting while keeping your spine straight, except for its natural bending. Positions play a vital part even when you’re asleep. Stomach sleeping is far from a good idea. Many people prefer sleeping on their side, which is in the interests of their spine. Sleeping on your back has lots of benefits yet can cause lower back pain and put some pressure on your spine.Staying still for too long — even if your position is good — can be hard on your back. Especially if you work at a task most of the day, it’s important to get up and stretch (伸展) periodically. Therefore, exercise is also a key part in the health of your spine. Stretches can help the muscles (肌肉) around your spine relax. Strength exercises with light weights or body weight exercises like push-up s can also help by strengthening the muscle s. However, don’t overdo the exercise, as repeated movements can hurt the muscles around the spine, as trying to lift heavy weights with poor technique.Your diet also affects the health of your spine because many vitamins are necessary for bones and nerves. In particular, vitamin B and omega-3 fatty acids help keep nerves healthy. Another important part is vitamin D, which is required for strong bones. Vitamin D can come from some foods, but it’s also absorbed from sunlight, so it may help to do some exercises outside. At last, many of the actions necessary to keep a spine healthy are similar to those used to protect your health in other ways. So protect your back, and the rest of the body will benefit. 5.What is suggested in Paragraph 3?A.Doing a proper amount of exercise.B.Staying still in a good position.C.Repeating a certain movement more.D.Strengthening muscles of the whole body.6.What can we infer about vitamins?A.Vitamin B reacts with omega-3 fatty acids.B.Abundant vitamin D guarantee s strong bones.C.Vitamin D can’t be absorbed without sunlight.D.Doing push-ups outside increases vitamin D intake.7.What is the best title for the text?A.Good posture, good spineB.Stay still, stay healthyC.Healthy means, healthy spineD.Proper exercise, proper weightCA new “Magic Bench” designed by Disney Research lets you interact (互动) with lovely animated (动画的) characters — and no special glasses or earphones are required. Instead, the complete environment — the seat, the sitter and the cartoon characters —is mirror ed on a screen opposite the bench making it possible for others to watch the scene unfold. How does the illusion work? A camera and sensor catch images and gather depth information about physical objects —the bench and the person. And then a computer translates them into the 3D animations. Meanwhile sensors of touch built into the bench deliver shaking that is happening at the same time and speed to animated actions on the screen, creating the illusion that the animated figures are occupying real-world space next to the user.“Our goal for this project was: hear characters coming, see them enter the space, and feel them sit next to you,” said Moshe Mahler, principal digital artist at Disney Research. Unlike the traditional mobile technology, one of whose limitation s is that only a single user can see its illusion, the Magic Bench allows groups of people to gather in a single environment and collectively participate in an augmented reality (扩充实境) experience, all at the same time.In a video show, a small cartoon donkey runs into view and kick s the bench, causing a sharp sound and making the seated person jump in surprise. Another test shows two people on the bench, reacting as they “feel” an animated rabbit skip up beside them and jump up and down. When a user passes his hand over the rabbit, a shadow moves across its head, as though it were occupy ing the same physical space as the person next to it.8.What does the Magic Bench need to work properly?A.Special glasses.B.Earphones.C.A mirror. D.A screen.9.What does the underlined word “illusion” in Paragraph 2 refer to?A.The shaking that is happening.B.The 3D animations on the screen.C.The figures about physical objects.D.The interaction with animated figures.10.How is the Magic Bench different from the traditional technology?A.Its fantasy can be seen only by a single user.B.It is designed to create more animated characters.C.It allows many people to experience the fantasy together.D.Its user and the animated character occupy the same space.11.Which is the best title for the text?A.Magic Bench Puts You in the PictureB.Audiences Become Cartoon CharactersC.Entertainment Industry Enters a New Stage D.Disney’s Cartoon Figures Come into Reality答案:A语篇解读:2018年9月10日,阿里巴巴集团创始人马云正式宣布张勇为自己的继任者。

定额市鞍钢阳光实验学校专题一阅读理解主旨大意题——标题归纳题(建议用时:25分钟)A(2019·青岛质量检测)Recently whenever I turned on mycomputer or my mobile phone, news about the great effect ofHurricane Harvey on thousands of people caught my eye. I saw many unfortunate events. However, there was also the bright news that confirmed the goodness of mankind. As a journalist, I wrote many human interest stories during my career. That’s why the story about the guys in the bakery caught my eye. When the staff at a Mexican bakery chain in Houston were trapped inside the building for two days, they didn’t sit there feeling sorry for themselves. They used their time wisely after flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey. While they were waiting for the eventual rescue that came on Monday morning, four decided to make as many loaves of bread as possible for their community. The flood water rose in the street outside. They took advantage of their emergency power supply to bake bread. They used more than 4,200 pounds of flour to create hundreds of loaves and sheets of sweet bread. Although the water kept rising, they continued baking to help more people. By the time the owner managed to get to them, they had made so much bread that they took the loaves to loads of emergency centers across the city for people affected by the floods. The store manager, Brian Alvarado, told The Independent, “Whenever a disaster occurs, nobody should just feel forlorn. Instead, we should take positive action to save ourselves and help others. Our acts of kindness will make a big difference.”【解题导语】本文是一篇记叙文。

1】:During the rosy years of elementary school(小学), I enjoyed sharing my dolls and jokes, which allowed me to keep my high social status. I was the queen of the playground. Then came my tweens and teens, and mean girls and cool kids. They rose in the ranks not by being friendly but by smoking cigarettes, breaking rules and playing jokes on others, among whom I soon found myself.Popularity is a well-explored subject in social psychology. Mitch Prinstein, a professor of clinical psychology sorts the popular into two categories: the likable and the status seekers. The likables’plays-well-with-others qualities strengthen schoolyard friendships, jump-start interpersonal skills and, when tapped early, are employed ever after in life and work. Then there’s the kind of popularity that appears in adolescence: status born of power and even dishonorable behavior.Enviable as the cool kids may have seemed, Dr. Prinstein’s studies show unpleasant consequences. Those who were highest in status in high school, as well as those least liked in elementary school, are “most likely to engage(从事)in dangerous and risky behavior.”In one study, Dr. Prinstein examined the two types of popularity in 235 adolescents, scoring the least liked, the most liked and the highest in status based on student surveys(调查研究). “We found that the least well-liked teens had become more aggressive over time toward their classmates. But so had those who were high in status. It clearly showed that while likability can lead to healthy adjustment, high status has just the opposite effect on us."Dr. Prinstein has also found that the qualities that made the neighbors want you on a play date-sharing, kindness, openness —carry over to later years and make you better able to relate and connect with others. In analyzing his and other research,Dr. Prinstein came to another conclusion: Not only is likability related to positive life outcomes, but it is also responsible for those outcomes, too. "Being liked creates opportunities for learning and for new kinds of life experiences that help somebody gain an advantage, ”he said.35. What is the best title for the text?A. Be Nice-You Won’t Finish LastB. The Higher the Status, the BeerC. Be the Best-You Can Make ItD. More Self-Control, Less Aggressiveness例题答案:A思路解析:主题句在段尾,作者先摆出事实依据,层层推理论证,最后自然得出结论即段落的主题。

My mind raced through the list of family members who might need help, but the voice was hardly familiar.“Lindy, this is Lesley.〞I didn't know Lesley well.We did occasionally speak with each other, but to say we were friends was not appropriate. I asked what she needed. Perhaps something really awful caused her to reach someone she barely knew.Instead, she asked me,“Do you have room for a turkey? In your freezer?〞We had lots of room in our freezer, and in fact, too much.“Sure,〞I responded.“did your freezer break down?〞“Not exactly,〞Lesley replied,“but I will explain when I arrive.〞Minutes later came a huge freezer truck. Lesley stepped down and explained the lease(租约) of the grocery store her husband serviced had run out and that they had to empty all the freezers that very night.Thinking it was a shame to throw away all this good food, they decided to drop off food to anyone she could think of. Noticing our freezer was pretty empty,Lesley asked to fill it up. Our home was their last stop and anything left would have to be put in our freezer. An hour later, everything finished,I asked her,“When will you come back for all this?〞Lesley laughed,“We don't want it back. It is yours! Thanks for helping us out!〞Then she waved goodbye and drove away.“For helping them out?〞We opened our freezer door.Inside were all expensive foods we never bought but often longed to try.We were struggling to buy groceries, yet it was not something we shared with anyone. However, our needs were met in an unexpected way,by that call,“Do you have room for a turkey?〞【语篇解读】本文为一篇记叙文。

考点分类练(八)主旨大意题——标题归纳类A(2021·山东济宁一模)During a decline in tourism, one national park in Thailand has seen a dramatic rise in “visitors”recently. So many are the hermit crabs(寄居蟹) flooding into the otherwise empty beaches of Koh Lanta that shells for them to live in have become in short supply. The Thai government moved quickly to ease the housing shortage, launching a public appeal for empty shells that netted over 200 kg. On December 5 these were distributed around the park in a ceremony.Hermit crabs rely on shells to protect their soft bodies, moving to larger shells as they grow. On Koh Lanta and the surrounding smaller islands, their rapid increase seems to be a natural phenomenon, rather than directly related to the absence of tourists. But the shortage of shells may be man-made: pretty ones have long been gathered to be sold as goods. Crabs begun to make do with potential death-traps such as plastic caps and bottles. The shell drive is part of a government initiative to regain the balance of nature.“I have instructed all national parks to do whatever it takes,” says the minister for natural resources. His inspiration comes from the pause in tourism brought on by the epidemic. A ban on international visitors and the closure of national parks have helped nature recover, bringing endangered leatherback turtles back onto Thai beaches. In the coastal provinces of Phang Nga and Phuket, turtles have laid the largest number of eggs for 20 years. The government has decided to try to copy the policy during the epidemic in future. From now on, all national parks will be required to close for a short period during the off-season and to limit the number of tourists through a reservation system when they are open. Although such restrictions mean reduced earnings from tourism in the short term, in the longer run more parks may help to keep the tourists coming.1.What happened to the beaches of Koh Lanta recently?A.They got flooded by seawater.B.They became completely empty.C.They were packed with hermit crabs.D.They saw a constant stream of tourists.2.What contributed to the housing shortage for hermit crabs?A.Natural disasters.B.Human activities.C.Their preference for bottles.D.The government’s involvement.3.Why are turtles mentioned in paragraph 4?A.To warn turtles are dying out.B.To prove beaches are their ideal habitats.C.To stress the ecological diversity of Thailand.D.To illustrate the birth of the minister’s inspiration.4.Which of the following can be the best title for the text?A.Developing Economy or Protecting Animals?B.Closing National Parks or Drawing More Visitors?ernments Are Responsible for the Balance of NatureD.Authorities Help to Find Shelters for Homeless Hermit CrabsB(2021·山东烟台一模)Many teachers believe frequent quizzes(小测验) help students better grasp classroom material. Crede, an associate professor of psychology, was skeptical that something as simple as a quiz could positively affect students’ academic performance. He decided to dig deeper and conduct an analytic study of existing research to see if there was any proof of the idea. What he discovered truly surprised him.Crede analysed data from previously published studies that examined 52 classes with almost 8,000 students, to determine if frequent quizzes improved the students’ academic performance. Laboratory settings were kept out of the study because Crede wanted to observe whether similar studies from labs would apply to general classrooms.Crede discovered that when students were quizzed over classroom material at least once a week, they tended to perform better on midterm and final exams compared to students who did not take quizzes. He also found that students who took frequent quizzes were less likely to fail the class, especially if they were struggling with the course content. Students who struggled the most in a class seemed to benefit the greatest from frequent quizzes. The other surprising thing was how much quizzes helped reduce failure rates in classes. The chances of passing a class went through the roof where instructors used this. In addition to quiz frequency, another factor that seemed to positively affect students’ performance was immediate feedback from instructors. Take anemone fish(海葵鱼) for example.Despite their smaller size, the males help the females defend the nest, but only the males take care of it. They use their fins as fans to provide a constant flow of oxygen and keep the surroundings clean. They also put a lot of effort into the nest. The eggs take about five days to hatch. During this important period, the males fan them to provide oxygen and remove the rubbish. They also pick up the eggs in their mouths and move them around to remove any bacteria. One of the biggest threats comes from female sticklebacks(刺鱼), who form organised groups and attack the nests to eat all the eggs. The males defend the newborn fish and bring back the ones who move too far from the nest.
